It's what I felt too. But I'm not very good distinguishing the two, so I said nothing.

While I'm not a massive fan of the character design ( i wasn't for the first game either), I can deal with it. What i really want is an option to have default armour shown if wearing a piece that changes the way you look. Or even have one armour set for appearance, and another for actual gear.

The 7th character you recruit in the 1st game had some horrid armour designs, to the point I decided I wasn't gonna use that person. i typically ran with Melia (controlled) and then Shulk and Dunban, and even then there was better gear i avoided using

The only other game remotely related to this that I have played was Xenogears way back in the day. I missed Xenoblade, and obviously from the title this game has more to do with the latter than the former.

So to correct my expectations: with this game are the mechs themselves purely for transport, or do we expect both on-foot and mech combat a la Xenogears?

There is mech combat, we already got a glimpse of it.

Yeah, this game is surpassing my hype for Final Fantasy XV right now. Not even Sawano can bring this down.

90% of the game is going to be exploration, and the exploration in this game looks so damn fun that it can't be ignored.

More than that, so far we've only seen two mechs. You made this game large as shit for the purpose of traversing in mecha, please don't tell me our choices are only the red flying robot and the motorcycle.

Either you are purposely blowing things way out of proportion, or you weren't paying close attention. Between the first two trailers alone, there were at least 5 mechs shown. That's not counting the enemy mech seen in the first, and the standard fleet mechs seen near the begining of the last E3 trailer. I'm sure the final game - with its story heavily based on Mechs/Dolls - will have a lot more. Since the mechs will play a huge roll, I'm guessing Nintendo doesn't want to spoil too much. But as it is, you aren't giving credit to how much they revealed already. Not much longer to wait before we all find out though. Plenty spoilers will surface around April.

It's the same composer(Hiroyuki Sawano). He often uses the same groups/singers in his soundtracks. He also composed Gundam Unicorn, Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Aldnoah Zero and more recently The Seven Deadly Sins.
