Majora's Mask New 3DS LE does not include game or Adapter in USA

Right now? Sure.
After they trade in their old 3DS to pay for the New 3DS? Probably not nearly as many.

Either way, that's not an excuse. I bought a new laptop a few months ago, the company didn't assume I had a compatible charger from previously buying a laptop of theirs. That's just shitty practice.
 
You know, I have like 6 3DS AC adapters.

I also have the MM3D LE pre ordered. So really, none of these things bother me.


What does fucking bother me is this shit still comes out to $260 with tax in Canada. That's A LOT FOR A LITTLE.

my love for Majora's Mask knows no bounds. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some Hyrule Warriors DLC to purchase.

You're arguing that, because you already have spare chargers lying around, the inclusion of another charger in the New 3DS XL bundle would be an environmental waste. What you fail to realize is that the chargers are still being manufactured regardless; the only difference is that the consumer has to pay. Remember that "Nintendo Difference" slogan from the GCN era? Boy, there sure is a difference now.
 
I understand how dumb this is. I traded in my original DS and accidentally gave 2 chargers, my DS and my 3DS one. I went and bought a 3rd party charge from Walmart and somehow this thing works perfectly and is less cumbersome than my original 3DS charger. Can even use it for a normal or an XL. That said the thing should have a fucking charger in the box.

I will probably still end up with one anyway. If there is another version of the New 3DS that I actually want, considering there is no Normal New 3DS (at least not yet, maybe we will get it later but who the fuck knows.)

Items required for the very basic function of a device should be included with said device. This isn't even about what people are "accustomed" to, this is basic Consumer Products 101, come on now...

It's one thing to thing well that's disappointing. It's another to flip out like some people here are.

It's $8 for an official charger; that's not worth getting upset over. It's not something is difficult to come by or expensive to buy were not talking about a $60 controller here.

Business wise, makes a lot of sense for Nintendo. Just for fun say they sell 10 million of these n3DS. Say it costs $2.50 to make that saves them $25 million off the bat. Then say they can turn around and sell 5 million of the chargers for $10 new. That's another 37.5 million.

Small differences mean a lot when you scale them. I totally get their logic here and I think they'll make more off of it than they will lose for people actually not buying the system.

Defending the business logic of it, not the anti-consumerism. But it is what it is, just go buy one for $8 off Amazon or don't get a new 3DS. They gave you the ultimatum and they are fine with the consequences.

Pretty much it is confirmed 2DS replaced 3DS in NA, which really sucks considering 2DS is a really cheap version of the 3DS.
 
No charger and no game... The fuck?

This is the closest I've been to buying a 3DS, but thankfully stuff like this makes my decision easier. I almost get the no charger thing, but no game included in a bundle with art specifically related to the game is bewildering.
 
So lets say you don't own any Nintendo device. You decide to buy this. You can't charge it without buying a separate item? So if you ran out of money you're stuck with a brick? Is there something I'm missing here? I didn't realize that was a thing.

Remember getting toys that required batteries as a kid and not having batteries and all the stores were closed because it was Christmas. Sad days ):

I think they made a mistake in not going with 3DS with faceplates. I am pretty sure most kids would rather have that than a 2DS. It would have been smarter to phase out 2DS.

That'd be the case if this was the first iteration of the system, which is not. I agree it's shitty not to include the charger in the box, but it's not such a big deal because the charger isn't that expensive and this is a limited edition. probably will only be purchased by enthusiasts that already own one.

They are being produced but likely not in the same quantities as they have completely decoupled it from millions of systems. Yes there are new owners but the vast majority of consumers are repeat. It's going to produce less waste. This is also why the EU wants to make microUSB the standard port on all phones so less cables are wasted. While I think it would be nice if Nintendo used USB I don't think it handles the 3DS power draw, but perhaps when 3.1 rolls around with the updated power standard this will be less of an issue.

If it's not difficult to come by or expensive for me, then why is it difficult and expensive for Nintendo? People should be pissed when the freaking device they intend to buy that requires a charger to work doesn't come with one and you should probably defend something worth defending instead of trying to damage control for Nintendo. It should be included, there is no excuse for this.
 
Already have the Majora's Mask LE and plenty of chargers, so I don't mind. Now I need to know where to preorder this stat.
 
The hate in this thread is mind boggling. Just plain mind boggling. They're selling a normal New 3DS with a paint job for the same price as one without a paint job. Why MUST it require more than that?

Doesn't seem much different than Vitas not including the required memory card, but in that case you can choose whatever size is appropriate for you, so it makes more sense. Then again, I imagine everyone here has multiple chargers already. I'd rather have it included, but so long as the warning is obvious enough, not a big deal IMO.

The people expecting them to bundle the game for free with the limited edition system launching on the same release date at the same price as the base new system are insane, though, especially the ones who want to pay $40 more for it. Choices?

Same case in Aus. No adapter's no surprise considering they've been doing that already here, but not bothering to bundle the game with the system as pre-installed software seems odd when they're doing that for Europe.
