New Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer

I just hope it doesn't get a graphical downgrade right before release. Like Watch Dogs. Couple of others did this also, names escape me though.

I don't think Nintendo does this though, so it should be all good.

Nah Nintendo doesn't do downgrades. At least nothing major.

The scale and design of the game's environments are bonkers. Still not a big fan of how the human characters are animated though. I thought they purposely hid the character's faces somewhat until the end of the trailer to surprise us with improved models, but alas. I'll have to settle for the mecha, bikes, and ginormous monsters.

Like Xenoblade the game will be very good and the graphics won't matter in the end/it will look good because of the style.

But it really doesn't look that hot technically. Characters look weird/bad and there is heavy Aliasing and Pop-In. Don't know why people go bonkers over the graphics.

Look at those birds though. All flapping in sync? I don't think so, Nintendo. Pre-order cancelled.

It's more about the art, it looks beautiful. Everyone can see that there are a lot more graphically demanding games out there but it doesn't mean that they are as nice looking in the end. I prefer this to a lot of other more demanding games.

That's what I said... The game will look good because of the style. Just like Xenoblade did on the Wii.

Japan gets it April 29th. Usually takes 6+ months for an RPG translation, but this game looks massive. We would need a miracle to get this before November in NA.

To be fair, the original Xenoblade wasn't particularly text-heavy, it was massive in other ways. It's not a DQ7-type situation!

Only Xenoblade Games give me the feeling of exploring a real "world"
Not a town, Not a city , not a looks huge world map but a real world

It was if you played it the proper way, doing all the side quests and completing all the links between npcs. Was one of my favorite things in the game. :3

Stop teasing us, Monolith Soft. Show us more combat. Anyway, it was nice to see some new environments we'll be able to explore. I also like how characters can actually leap across areas, so there's some minor platforming involved too.

That assumes they wait until launch to even start the localization process. I mean maybe that's what they're doing, but not guaranteed.

I agree with that fields are empty, especially when comparing with tree house footage. It's like they took away all the non-huge enemies on the fields.

And to think we still have so much to learn about the game's online modes. This game is a world in itself.

I'm giving Monolith Soft the benefit of the doubt. There's still things we don't know about this game and haven't seen yet.

It's so easy to find a person with an agenda. Your post history includes 100% posting in the OT of the Destiny thread and all Sony threads. Why are you here again?
What does this mean? One can't post in this thread if they don't post in Nintendo threads?

This game and The Legend of Zelda will be the highlight of the Wii U for me. I think I'll buy one this year.

But they did show a LOT of combat at the Treehouse event during E3... or maybe you are talking about combat mechanics using the robots?

The problem with that was we saw very early combat which wasn't particularly interesting and didn't really show much in the way of special moves.

The environments are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to explore them. But damn, those character models are ugly as sin.

I wouldn't worry about that if the original Xenoblade is anything to go by. Combat definitely opened up in the first game as you got more party members and unlocked more arts and skill trees.

Incredible. Loved seeing the new locales. Looks a lot more colorful. I haven't been this hyped for a game in a long time.

It's funny to me that every other post mentions how horrible the character designs are. I mean it's not that I disagree, they are, but they have been showing them for 2 years now. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore.

I like seeing the Japan release date but not liking how they still aren't committing to a date elsewhere. This is going to be a huge translation project, maybe one of the biggest ever considering how much text was in Xenoblade (480 quests). My guess is December 2015 at the earliest.

I love that running seems to cover more ground than in most other large/open-world games. I think that would be an option totally considered(particularly in open-world RPGs). In traditional RPG(JRPGs, particularly), slow-walk was the only means to get around until they started adding a run button(Final Fantasy, particularly, you only could run with the Sprint Shoes in FFV and FFVI, but then Square said, "Y'know, let's just make that a feature of the game!"). Running in a scaled world that rivals life size seems to be approached in a realistic fashion(because for how fast we think we are, humans aren't THAT fast), so covering ground happens slowly, regardless of running the entire ways. But for fantasy(even sci-fi) worlds, I think we can toss that reality out the window. I'm guessing(seeing the characters in this game leap across rather large chasms), if they plan on explaining this, it might be similar to the John Carter explanation(planet with different atmosphere/gravity allows normally average, or in John Carter's case, above average soldier, humans to perform super-human feats).

This was actually the reasoning I thought up to explain the majority of major feats accomplished in many JRPGs(different world, different atmosphere native people were adjusted to that allows them to perform fantastical feats and cast awesome magic).

This is definitely 30FPS no question, not that that matters much to me. Just as long as it's stable, because this game looks so impressive. Amazing.
I hope there's a Nopon base. :>
