Where do you draw the line? What does a company have to do to lose your business?

I don't really. I don't buy things that don't look interesting to me. The closest this gets to being company-specific is if a game I didn't like gets a similar looking sequel.

Like I didn't really want SFxT DLC, but I'm not gonna never buy a Capcom game again.

Well, Microsoft lost my business back when they personally screwed me over with GFWL, when they charged my credit card for 2 years of XBL specifically against my authorization, and when they were just being really shitty last gen. Then when they announced their plans for Xbone and proved they have ZERO intent of doing anything except totally taking advantage of their customers and their loyalty and only hold contempt for their players, they lost it for good. Or at least until Xbone is swimming in games I care about, which is not likely to happen at this rate.

When they continually cross the line such as produce underwhelming products, piss all over classic series, annoying DRM, etc

It's pretty hard to screw up this bad this often but alot of companies some how manage to do it. The CEO's and executives of the bad companies obviously don't use their own products

I'd love to say Ubisoft lost my business due to their crap QA but in actuality they lost it due to Uplay and before that due to their online DRM. I won't buy that crap, so I haven't bought a Ubisoft game in ages. I do have some Ubisoft games in my Steam library, they either didn't require uplay or they were gifted to me and do require Uplay. I personally haven't bought one of their games since Far Cry 2 though, I think.

Games I would actually buy from Ubisoft sans crappy DRM: Rayman titles, otherwise nothing.

I considered cutting Double Fine out after the Spacebase thing, still chewing on it.

When I was still a console gamer I decided to not purchase another Microsoft console ever again, after having my Xbox fail and 360 fail numerous times. I've never had any other consoles fail on me when I was still a console gamer. By the time Xbox One came out though I was already fully entrenched in PC and not looking back.

Making games I like, and it's more losing trust rather than losing business, I'll always give a game a chance to at least look into.

Studio that I have had good experiences with Naughty Dog, Nintendo as a software developer, Rockstar, Valve, Level-5, etc. I'll have a lot more trust with, because they have not drastically failed me in the past. Others I'd have to really dig deep and look into the game before buying.

Ubisoft games on PC. Never again.

*I will take free Ubisoft games, like Far Cry 3 promo from AMD.

It really comes down to uplay and microtransactions.

it was pretty bad at this stage

this was the point when I said NOPE

Nintendo is pretty much at that point for me now. Anything they put out that looks good I'll be buying used. Not giving those scumbags any money.

My thing is that if you feel strongly enough about something to avoid it, you kinda can't go back on that because oh shit that company or thing has a thing I want without looking like you are full of hot air.

That is my "issue" as you will with the normal posts after a company does something fucked up.

Like some people said they are boycotting Nintendo because of today's clusterfuck, a personal choice I don't get fully but respect because fucking hell man wtf Nintendo.

However, if these same posters turn around later and buy one because welp this game I wanted for it is out...it cheapens the initial stand.

Boycotting the XBONEs initial fuckery and changing after they stopped being stupid is fine. Changing because Sunset Overdrive looked cool (if they hadn't of changed of course) is less so.

Basically I wonder how many people go through with these boycotts really?

It seems like a tough gig, y'know?

When for example : Dev/PR lies then implement half facet PC controls

The lie :

The truth (300+ pages of rants from pc gamers) :
http://forum.bioware.com/topic/521697-pc-community-concerns/

Threat their costumer as a wallet and not as a player : free DLC content promised for MP but no words about SP DLC at all.
Prefer to stay on twitter rather using their forum to communicate : better stalk twitter if you want to know any news from Bioware about patches.
Yup, Bioware lost me.

I'm only waiting for the mods now, so I won't delete the game from my pc.
But I will never again buy a new game from Bioware unless they change, I've enough of lies and bad communication.

Well, Destiny lies at developer diaries and overall cheap ass quality of the game, means I will not spend a single penny in Bungie ever.

What a scam.

I'm not loyal to companies.

If their product sucks i won't buy it. If it's great and i want it i do.

Track record does matter though. If i've been burned i take a "wait and see if it's any good" approach.

What really turns me off of having any enthusiasm for supporting a company is something like the initial bullshit MS pulled.

I can't say i would not atleast think about it. If MS ever supported JRPG's for example like last gen and got a billion of them on their console and they were exclusive to Xbox One(never happening), i'd pretty much be obligated to think seriously about one.

But on their actual and current trajectory, i see no reason to support Microsoft's gaming division for the 8th generation of consoles. I've just come to find that i don't really like how they do business in general.

Yeah pretty much. Any good company can turn out a crap game and a crap company can turn out a good game.

I don't think there's a single company in the world that I wouldn't buy from if they had a product I really wanted. If I find it hard to decide between two products then I may end up buying from one from the company I liked best, but that's about it.

Ubisoft... cant be said hard enough... i am (WAS) a diehard Assassins Creed fan... i didnt mind the gameplay year after year... its STILL one of my favorite franchises (i bought every single collectors edition with statues.. and even a hidden blade gauntlet from gamestop)

I still havent purchased Unity.

When i heard their comment about Resolution and Parity... i lost a LOT of interest in it... i mean... Black Flag was great... why cant developers make a game the best they possibly can on each console theyre working on. If i was in development, id want the PS4 version to take FULL advantage of the PS4 even if it means XB1 version might be (SLIGHTLY) inferior...

Honestly, i think the backlash from what they did, completely fucked them harder than the backlash would have been had they just went ahead and fully realized the PS4's capabilities over XB1.
