New Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer

Why would they not? It feels like Nintendo is pushing this ten times harder than they did Xenoblade, and that got dubbed. If nothing else, NoA will wait and steal Europe's English dub again, since NoE doesn't seem determined to prove the people who view Nintendo products as second-rate correct, like NoA seems to want to.

Has Nintendo ever released an undubbed game with lots of voice acting? Genuine question.
I was fine with the dub in Xenobade. I wouldn't care if they do the sane thing here unless it sounds bad

While it's looking good it strangely looks less complete than FFXV does, even though it's coming out sooner. Are they just keeping their cards close to their chest?

Yes. REALLY close. Up until this trailer, we really only saw the first area and tiny glimpses of a couple others. We saw at least 3 entirely new areas in this trailer, and 2 more in a lot more detail. They haven't revealed anything about the story except for the very basic premise. They've only showed off the very basic combat (a year or longer ago) without delving into any of the new mechanics (besides the fact that the mechs can be jumped into and out of at will, mid battle, they have parts damage (one giant Monster knocked off the arm of a Mech during battle, and it became unable to use a two handed Gatling gun, and a left arm mounted shield)...) they're REALLY holding their cards close. They haven't even mentioned anything about the online modes other than confirming online connectivity exists to some degree, and that they are able to accomplish and implement everything they wanted and planned to in that respect.

Oh my god this looks amazing. I'm yet to play the previous one which I'll probably just nab for the new 3ds when I grab that next month but wow at those environments.

Its obvious that they are holding (almost) every detailed information for the nintendo direct somewhere in march/april.

Almost can't believe how good this looks, so atmospheric, cant wait to spend hours and hours in this beautiful world. I didn't even noticed that pathway on the mountain, wonder where it leads....

How long does it take to localize RPGs? About a year more or less? I suppose Nintendo is already localizing it, at least they should had started last Fall the latest, that's when we had news about the development of the game being on its final steps.

This looks utterly fantastic, especially compared to the trailer from last year that just looked like poor anime. Really captures the spirit of Xenoblade.

The faces though - christ.

I would honestly prefer the models from Xenoblade - they are utterly dreadful! what on earth is going on there?

I will miss the British accents as well...

Oh geez. So this. Game looks like just about the best thing ever, but those dead eyed bad-anime faces. What is going on there?

This was so clearly an issue in the original as well. Surely someone would have mentioned it to the dev team?

The United States has crashed on an alien planet and now it is up it you and your team of giant robots to save the day!

If I can't have Metal Wolf Chaos then this will have to do.

for how many years have they shown trailers for this game now? 4 years? It's getting pathetic they need to release this game.
I know right, it's not like the game was revealed in January of 2013 and will be release in April of 2015 in Japan which make it 2.5 years since reveal which is almost too short for the scale of the project... =/

Edit: Or maybe you confused the dates with the ones of Final Fantasy...

WUT?
First mention: 2012 Direct
First Trailer: Direct January 2013
Release: April 2015 (JP) 2015 (WW)

If that is pathethic...

Also they are actually releasing it in 3 months, in japan

That's crazy to me. I sort of worry that NoA wants Zelda to have the holiday spotlight, so they delay it to 2016 for NA/EU. Hope I am wrong though because this is my most anticipated 2015 game.

I think the biggest problem is if Zelda comes out here around the same time and NoA wants Zelda to have the spotlight, so they lower marketing for XCX and make Zelda eat XCX's sales...

Ahem, I hope I'm wrong too, I don't really know how NoA works sometimes.

They may luck out this time. When the inevitable Zelda delay needs to be explained they can point to Xenoblade Chronicles X as their big fall release. They'd be forced to manufacture a decent number of copies and avoid the absurd situation with its predecessor.

Ideally this would be an August/September release, but I have no clue how localized it is. If it's anything like XBX, there is a lot to translate and V.O. to record.

Edit: I'm pretty doutbful of a Zelda delay. People kept saying that about Smash Bros too. As much as I like XB and prefer it to Zelda, it has nowhere near the appeal needed for the flaghsip Wii U holiday title.

Monolith Soft was start recruiting staff since 2011 if I recall correctly

(guess) pre-production around 2010-2011 > ready to show off 2013

Scalpers are once again going to have a field day.

Thank god we'll have it on the eShop though so people can actually buy it to play it if they want to without being at the mercy of scalpers and Nintendo underships. It'll be nice to have Xenoblade and X available digitally so everyone can experience them, even if Xenoblade will be a weird handheld downport version.

Digital availability makes this a non-issue, unlike the first Xenoblade.

Its unfortunately a perfect storm of reasons why the Wii version won't be available digitally for at least a year, what with the 3DS port and Wii U sequel releasing so soon.

'a new title by monolithsoft inc.' those were the days.
i just hope the pal release is not that far away from the jp release so i can resist spoiling myself on youtube.

with fall damage being gone i hope you can jump out of the mechs at any time just to plummed to the ground for 5 minutes :-D

Been watching this trailer over and over again. I think I might actually be saving some vacation time this year to take a long weekend once this comes out. Same for Zelda Wii U.

With the game coming out at the end of April in Japan I really do wonder if we could get this sooner then we think. The assumption being that they're in polish mode right now and should be going gold in a few weeks around the end of March going into April. The game should be largely finished at the moment. Localization should be taking place now or about to start. Assuming they waited until things were mostly done and didn't start much earlier when it came to menus, etc. I would think they'd have to have started already (trailer was subbed) because it's getting a world wide release and you need time to record multiple languages when it comes to the dialogue and game text. That's assuming they don't cheap out and just give us English (one track. Hope Europe gets to handle it again.) and Japanese vocals and everything else is translated. However that is a possibility which would save them time as well and more important likely to them.. money.

I think we could be looking at a June or July release instead of a August/September release. January to July would be 7 months and the game would have been out for two months in Japan already by then. It would have already gotten a Nintendo Direct to itself at that point. Calling April for that in Japan. They could show it off one last time at E3 and tell people to go out and buy it. It being shown off and purchasable or close to purchasable might get it more attention from outlets. It should be playable there as well. A summer release would allow more people off from school or on vacation to play. Leaving the holiday season and breaks to Zelda Wii U.

August/Sept I could see being Devil's Third and Star Fox. November is clearly Zelda. Yoshi's Woolly World could be either December or September. It would be good a alternative to Zelda since there is suppose to be no Mario platformer this year outside of Mario Maker. There is very likely something else unannounced that might get a Fall slot revealed at E3. That would be the only place for it as other things are already known for this year. Maybe something new. Maybe Fatal Frame for October if we're lucky but that's small so something big would need to really be there unless the 3DS gets love at that time.

Can't stop watching this trailer.

Hope localisation has been in progress since the completion of the script.

I know its already been pointed out, game looks amazing, but those faces and character designs. I however just noticed this though. what is up with the main dudes hair?

Can someone do a side by side?

Oh yeah, I forgot that. I used to think that they started pre-production in 2012 for some silly reason =P

But yes, 3.5 years it's a good period... but I am still amazed since the world seems massive and well crafted, well except for the faces (Which don't bother me that much since they are better than the ones in Star Ocean) LOL
