I visited my local Target this morning here in East York. Noticed that the Wii U console and screen was taken down as was the Amiibo demo screen. The rep there told me that Apple and Bose would be taking back their inventory but that Nintendo wouldn't. I'm assuming at some point that games and consoles will be sold at very cheap prices.

Yeah, kind of hoping for that as well. Maybe they'll do one as a Platinum reward? Though I wonder who exactly they'd make it be of. Maybe that mentioned Metal Mario or perhaps Gold Mario from NSMB2.
I still wonder how they'd handle Mii. Could store your main Mii in it so you could take it to a friend's place and then put them in another person's Wii U or 3DS. Though I don't know if they'd be willing to make custom ones. Probably would cost more due to how they'd probably have to make them male & female, then the 3 different fighters from SSB.
Yeah I wish they'd just tell us something. I don't care if they split the wave into 2 parts (it'd actually be better for me because it's really expensive to just buy 11-12 figures at once quite frankly)...just tell us.

I don't wanna derail or turn this post into a wish list but I'm a little surprised Nintendo hasn't used Monster Hunter 4U as a way of pimping out their Amiibos as well...also MH Amiibos FTW. :3

Club Nintendo codes don't expire but after a certain point redeeming old codes no longer gets you new coins.
Hmm, good point. Perhaps scanning them could unlock the special costumes/weapons faster, i.e Mario & Luigi would've unlock said costumes for Felynes from the start instead of their usual unlock method, whatever it is (unless they ARE unlocked from the store).

The game came out in Japan before amiibo launched. I'm sure they would have incorporated them in the game otherwise (I think there are Nintendo character skins in the game so unlocking those would be a no-brainer).

,but seeing as us NA guys have been ravenously snapping up any Amiibo in sight...I thought maybe a little Amiibo inclusion would be in order for the NA launch of MH. Perhaps...it's doable in a future software update? Don't know how difficult it would be for Capcom to patch in this kind of thing, or even if they're interested...I know I've posted before, but I figure since we are posting display units (and new people are now posting). I've toyed with the idea of them making Mii Fighters a platinum reward, but the shitstorm that would rain down on Nintendo would be far worse than needing a #00 Philips Screwdriver or not bringing over the regular N3DS. At best I expect a metallic Amiibo with a different base that says "Club Nintendo Platinum Member 2015" or something like that.
I really want one of those cases. They look so good, especially with the amiibos on the stairs! I just wish it wasn't $300 to get it shipped. lol One of these days, going to have to steal someone's truck and go to Houston so i can visit IKEA.
Yeah, shipping is total BS. It's insane they charge that much. I almost didn't get this case. But I found an Ikea 2 hours away, and my GF wanted to get it. So we ended up doing the drive to get it for $64. But yeah, the shipping price instantly kills it for most people. Which is a shame.
Wish there were more Ikea's around.

Yeah, me too. There's several in Texas, but of course, they're not close to me. I'd have to drive 1 1/2-2 hours into Houston to get one. Some day I'd like to- I need a better shelf for my scale figures as well.

This display with the stairs looks so good. I, too, have the DETOLF but for other non-Nintendo figurines.
I should consider get LED lights for my displays soon...

Yes. I'll work on that next week. The pics I posted aren't final. My week was busy with my Birthday and doctor appointments. One set of LED strips already came in. Have other stuff coming next week. I'll PM you again once I get working on it. Appreciate all the help.

Hey, just hit me that we got our first unlockable character from SSB4 in amiibo form (well, two if you count Ness being unlockable in the 3DS version, as he was default in Wii U). I wonder if this means Wave 5 will see more of them like Falco, Ganondorf, or Jigglypuff.
I feel like the last wave is gonna be characters like Dark Pit, ROB, Mr. Game & Watch, Duck Hunt, & Dr. Mario (who I still wonder if he'll function similar to Mario for certain games).

Maybe we'll see her in Wave 5 as well? I can't seem to figure out a solid reasoning as to who gets part of what wave (well obviously Wave 1 & 2 = most popular characters...for the most part). My only guess is depending on if there'll be any upcoming games that'll support them, like Robin & Lucina coming out in time for Codename STEAM and Ike coming out next month as well.

How big is the box? I think I've decided that this is the route I want to go, but the nearest IKEA is about three hours away. I don't want to drive that far and then realize that it won't fit in the back seat! I can take either a Mini Cooper Countryman (sort of like an SUV) or a Honda Civic (might have a little more backseat room).

Buddy went to see about Ike and was already being told that some pre-orders might have to get refunded on him. Looks like another wave of odd availability.

I just checked myself. It looks like Amazon.fr is not allowing those amiibos to be shipped to the US anymore.
We have 13 characters left assuming that Mii Fighters are skipped. (14 with Mewtwo)
I'm going to guess that the remaining characters will be divided between Waves 5 and 6 rather than one massive wave since there will be so many characters by then in stores. As for who will be in the next wave, I'm hoping we see the 3DS starting roster finished by then. (ZSS, Olimar, Greninja, Palutena)
To be fair I think Lucina and Wario are being released now so that their amiibo will be ready for Project STEAM and Mario Party 10 respectively.

This is something I'm curious about too.
Certainly if Nintendo had some sort of 3D printers they could do custom ones themselves. Skylanders does this for testing their initial Skylanders poses and they don't always look that different from the final product.
Or they could have like, tons of "pieces" like you would for the miis and then build them that way.
I think like you mentioned it'd be far too costly realistically for them to make hundreds of thousands upon millions of player's individual mii characters. Plus you'd have things like mii's with eyes and eyebrows above their heads as ears and that opens a huge can of worms.
What would be really nice is a simple mii of one of the 3 mii fighters that you could get from Club Nintendo and then it comes kind of ..blank. You can completely color and customize the blank amiibo yourself.

Fuck, with all these random release dates, I have no idea when to even show up, and when to push Gamestop for having my stuff I pre-ordered. This is going to be a fuckin mess of epic proportions. I can feel itt.
Yeah, so I'm guessing once Wave 5 is confirmed, we're gonna hear about how certain characters from that wave will be used on some upcoming stuff or games not related to SSB. Or heck, maybe they'll update certain games like Mario Kart 8 for more content, seeing as the DLC is out in May & it's possible that's when the next wave could hit.

Gamestop didn't help me out much yesterday. I pre-ordered all of Wave 3 (minus the other exclusives, of course) in the store a while ago. Yesterday, I went in and paid them all off and asked if February 1st was a good release date. They pretty much just shrugged their shoulders but said, "you're still guaranteed". They also couldn't tell me anything about Wave 4/Mario Series pre-orders even though others have been told Monday. These are people I used to work with too, so they're always very forthcoming with info for me.

Thanks! The Mini could work with all the seats down, but would probably have the box go all the way to the front seat. I just checked their website and shipping to me is $99. That might actually be worth the gas and time. I'll have to think further about this.

Shite. Preordered a pair of Amiibo through Play-Asia, but I've now finally found them available for preorder locally. Placed a preorder with the new place and went to cancel with PA only to find there was no option to cancel.
On contacting customer services, I've been told I'm not allowed to cancel the order, and that the text on the page referring to not being allowed to cancel orders or return the item covers preorders too. While I should have been a bit more careful reading the details, the wording was just ambiguous enough to trip me up. Has anyone had any success cancelling preorders through PA, or am I stuck with the more expensive PA order and cancelling the local one?
