How'd you cancel it? I called the store and supposedly it's not in the system. I called the 800# and they said they can't cancel it, told me to don't pick it up and said I wouldn't be charged $5 for not picking it up. All sounds like bs

I did it through their online order system. Logged in, clicked on the order number, and hit "Cancel Shipment".

It might be different for in-store pre-orders, though.

I chose store pickup and there's no "cancel shipment" or cancel order option on my order. shady ass gamestop
 
Go to the store and ask if you can. I know you can't cancel shipments to store online, but i've cancelled them in the store itself several times.

:P I also don't think they'll charge the $5 unless it becomes a problem, if at all. Half the time they don't mark my pre-order pickups as "picked up" and i've never gotten charged a restock fee.

You do have to know that we all have each others backs. I'm 100% sure someone here would get you your Rosie or any other amiibo you'd miss.
But if collecting these really is causing you this much pain, it's best to quit while it's still making you happy. The thread just lost a little bit of it's soul though.
If seeing wave 5 announced or maybe a lone Ness on a peg happens to give you the itch again, we'll be here for you. Until then, you have a great vacation, we'll miss you.
 
Hurrah! Spoke to Play-Asia CS today and after a brief back and forth they've agreed to cancel my pre-order as a gesture of goodwill since I've been with them for ages :-)
 
I no longer have to make an early morning dash to TRU/HMV/GAME on 23rd thanks to my Rosalina pre-order on Amazon UK. This amiibo and Shulk will be my only Wave 3 purchases.

Thanks for the heads up on Rosalina. Was going to just go into my local stores on release day but this does put my mind at rest a bit.

The only thing is that I prefer to compare them in the shop and choose the one with the best paint job and get dirty looks from store assistants and parents with their kids ha.

Same. I was actually planning to do my own QA in the shops for all future amiibos but Rosalina became decidedly rare so I had no choice but to pre-order.

After receiving Rosalina, I will be hitting the shops to exchange it for another one if the paint job is bad since you don't need a receipt. If they don't have her, at least I have one at all.
 
The Super Mario amiibo line was up on amiami for preorder and I just ordered the whole lot. It's mostly for insurance since I'm more than certain the entire line will be widely available forever (say for maybe Toad) but the way NA seems to be the only region left that has yet to open preorders, it makes me look back at this video and I shake my head. Plus it's been so long since I've preordered anything amiibo that I'm a tad anxious.

NoA is just so frustrating lately with the lack of certain amiibo to extremely limited editions that are common in other regions. I wish the 3DS and WiiU were region-free so I could just import everything that's gone in NA but I'll have to be content with importing missing amiibo. Thank GOD amiibo are region-free... for now.
 
So it seems Rosalina doesn't exist in Paris, she is nowhere and the first part of wave 3(Lucario, Sheik, Rosalina, Toon link, Ike, Bowser) is released in every shop in paris.

But Rosa....Jeez!

So I picked up Bowser, Toon link and I'm waiting for the others that will be delivered by amazon.fr

Pretty much just interested in Toad and Pacman...perhaps charizard...

Hoping ShopTo deliver on my Ike pre order on Friday and Shulk, Sonic, Megaman when they're out. Have suspicions with ShopTo cause they never seem to run out of pre orders... I'm so during they just take them all, deliver to who they can and then cancel what they can't, which sucks massively if true.
 
Was anyone able to pre-order the Wario Amiibo from Game? I went from not seeing it on-line to immediately not being able to pre-order it. I'm wondering if it was ever available at all.
 
Shulk looks to be back up on amiami to me. Pissed I totally forgot about using amiami for these as I usually get shipments every month or so...


NVM, says pre-orders closed. They sometimes open up again after a bit, so have to keep an eye on it.

Wehkamp (Netherlands) just cancelled a bunch of "Rosalinda" (lol) pre-orders. Luckily I pre-ordered her at Game Mania as well, but this isn't good news.

They said in the e-mail that they're expecting a new shipment of Rosalina within a month, at the earliest.
 
GAME just cancelled a bunch from the wave out this Friday I had ordered. Not happy - they told me stock shortages, even though I pre-ordered at the beginning of December...

Damn that sucks. Hope ShopTo doesn't do the same for me. If so, no more amiibo orders for them, or any limited edition product, they'd have screwed me out of two limited edition things now if they do.
 
No doubles - just the next wave. Sheik, Lucario, Bowser, Rosalina, Ike and Toon Link. All pre-ordered on 10 December and just cancelled today... pre-ordered over a month in advance, it's ridiculous I missed out.

Not that I know of. I managed to order everyone from GAME... apart from Wario. So I'd be interested to know when they go up elsewhere also.

Actually, there are a few Amiibo pre-orders that are unavailable from ShopTo, like Shulk and Meta Knight - which I had to order from GameStop UK.

Man. That's deflating, for sure. Sorry to hear about it.

Doesn't it seem like with the known demand, Nintendo should be making these slightly easier to get, not harder? Meaning, Nintendo should correct its production/stock shipments?

It's like they're asleep, or something.
 
It's not right to hold a nintendo direct heavily focusing on amiibo and not be able to fill the demand that they know is there, since they've had many weeks to witness what the demand is like.

FWIW I haven't had any cancelled... i'm just fearing it will happen at this point, considering how many orders I have made that are still pending.

Seems like everything Nintendo makes have these issues. They're either incompetent or doing it intentionally. Seeing amiibos, gamecube adapters, handhelds, and games sell out and going for triple the price must make them feel proud or something.
 
I just managed to re-order Sheik, Lucario, Bowser, Rosalina, Ike and Toon Link at Amazon in the UK. But I suspect Amazon hasn't checked their stock allowance from Nintendo yet - I'm sure they'll be contacting me later about cancellations...

Currently it says they're due for delivery on Friday though... Part of me is sceptical.
 
Just got on the amiibo hype train as I'm getting Smash Bros - luckily my go-to Smash characters are Zelda and Link and those figures are readily available...

Do I get to name my amiibo and that shows up in the game or something?
 
Are people generally still finding Captain Falcon and Pit in stores in the U.S. from time-to-time? If so, which ones? I put in a PM to someone in the B/S/T and don't mind paying a little premium, but if there's still a reasonable chance I can pay retail price instead, I'd of course rather do that.

I've got 3 emails saying 'Your order is on its way,' I pre ordered Toon Link, Sheik, Ike and Bowser on January 9th

Not in the US but I remember seeing him selling out yesterday on GAME.

Then its stock system is shit then. All of mine ordered in December and all cancelled today. Customer services told me it was because of stock shortage with Nintendo. Knowing GAME they probably pull names from a hat instead of honouring customers by order date.

None of them have gone up in the US. I'd rather wait for preorders than jump on them early only to be canceled because Nintendo can't deliver stock.

On the one hand, I'm glad I didn't miss him, but on the other hand, this is out of control. Amiibos NEED a universal one per customer limit. It's getting to the point where normal humans can't hope to get them, and I say this as a guy with a Majora' Mask XL preorder and a complete Wave 2.
 
Today I decided to get Luigi and Donkey Kong from behind a store desk in Grainger Games but when I checked them after I left they had really bad paint jobs - Luigi had a visible white line going up his arm and face and DK's eyebrow paint was also on his forehead.

Decided to take them back but they'd only accept credit unless faulty so I got Link (even though I have TL preordered and I hate Link's "piss yellow stand" as someone here put it, ha) and I think I'll use the rest of the credit if they get anymore stock in for the new waves.

Then popped to argos who had DK in and the one I got there was much better.

I think I'm gonna wait to get the Mario Line Luigi figure instead it's much cuter.

Damn these figures taking over my life! I practically have all of wave 1 now give or take...

I'm worried about ShopTo in general. Their future Nintendo pre-orders are so minimal. Like 3 3DS games (Zelda, Majora's Mask and Codename STEAM) and a handful of Wii U titles. That's it. None of the third party titles, none of the other titles from the Direct etc. so I've shifted pre-orders over to the official UK store and am waiting for them to add the new waves.
