We get this instead:

(The Icona Vulcano)
does she come with the car?

Been enjoying these tracks, though I wish some of them felt more Japanese. Guess we won't be getting cities:(

This gamma issue sounds familiar to the first patch that glitched the developer logo intros. They fixed that after a while but this is a bigger deal since its in game. Hopefully its fixed soon.

Just tried the first three of the Japan tracks and my god they are nice. Japan instantly became my favorite location in the game.

Also logged into the servers right away when the game started up as opposed to waiting 1-3 minutes pre-patch. Very nice!

Yeah its pretty much the same as the old logo intro's as you say. What's funny though is that even now, if you watch the main intro till the end and notice the last logo on the "black" screen before the game starts, you'll see that last screen still has poor black levels. Of course a non-issue as it's...an intro.

The gamma issue in cockpit view, especially ALL the Japan tracks are a deal breaker for me :/

And as somebody who plays in either cockpit or dash cam view, I just cannot understand why there's simply no option to toggle this effect on or off in other views.
The balance argument is a bit silly, IMO.

As someone who plays in cockpit view AND external view I think it's ridiculous to ask to be able to turn this off in external views. The external view behind the car is already easier than in car views as you have a wider FOV, don't suffer washout and reflections caused by the windscreen and the rain has a bigger impact on the in car view.
Although the rain does interfere with vision somewhat in the Chase cam view it is still less of a handicap than the in car effects.
To remove it would make chase cam FAR too easy and it already has enough advantages.

TLDR - I use both in car views and chase cam. Removing the rain drop effect from Chase cam would make that view far too easy, relatively, compared to in car view. Don't change it Evo, you would spoil it if you did.

It's a perfectly fine argument. Yours is kind of whiny.
Whiny? lol
Am I the one complaining that driving in interior view is so hard that every other view should be dumbed down to make it easier for me?

Some people can't stand this kind of (unrealistic) effect, you know?
Having options is nice.

You mean like a perfect 3rd person camera following your car in a race?

I rarely use the cockpit camera. I want to see the road, not my dashboard, but I like that all the camera angles are affected by the weather. I don't see what the issue is. Having a chase-cam is more unrealistic than assuming that if such a thing existed that it would be immune to weather.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with letting someone toggle the camera water droplets off or on, as long as they don't remove the effect from the game completely. Evo seem to be intent on giving more options in letting people play however they want to play anyway.

I demand people driving in bumper view have an advantage over every other ones, because you can't see shit in this view when there's a car in front of yours.
You see?

No, are you trying to make some sort of point? Bumper cam has raindrops too. All of them do.

I'm not a camera.

Fly behind your car in the rain, and tell me you don't get wet. Seems weird you are complaining about the "unrealism" of rain and then saying this.
I think what you are really trying to say is that you don't like rain. Which is ok. Nobody is forcing you to use it in Driveclub, as far as I know. Why select the challenge of rain, which includes visibility impairments, only to disable viability impairments? Can you turn off wet tires if you don't like them?

Perhaps, but limit that option to single player then. Let multiplayer races be more balanced as they are now.

I'd quite like an option for a dry race with a wet track. Like it's just stopped raining

I second this. Would make for some lovely gameplay screens as well. Though the distinction would have to be made in time trials, leader boards and challenges, as driving without actual rain drops would increase visibility several fold.

Sorry, but it's still an inane argument.

It's people's choice to drive with cockpit or dash cam views.
Why should it handicap every other people out there?
It's not an inane argument at all. People who use chase cam would have an overwhelming advantage. Not only would you have the already distinct advantage of improved peripheral vision, but a camera with no impeded vision from the weather. Its clearly a balance issue.

It's not a question of why should you have the handicap, its why should chasecams have an overwhelming advantage. And I use chasecam the majority of the time.

Still dumb to have so much of the beauty obscured by a bunch of blurs.

Can someone please comment on the driving gameplay?

What is it like, over-steer not realistic or under-steer not realistic or perfect?

Visuals, i'm already sold on that.

Sound, i'm already sold on that.

Someone please comment on the gameplay.

Cars handle a lot like a sim except for really exaggerated braking.

Someone please comment on the gameplay? Did you miss the last 200 pages or so of the main 2 OT's?!

Yes, my point being that for proper balance, every view should be obscured at a 80% level when there's a car in front of yours, because bumper cam is a lower view that will be 80% obscured by cars in front of yours.

lol

What I've been trying to say from the start (and even before the game released, I've called out Project Cars for doing the same) is that some people can't stand the droplets-all-over-your-face effect, and that it would be nice from them to have an option to disable it.

Whatever you think about it, the balance argument is kind of shit in my opinion, given the chase cam are always advantaged by a much wider FOV, even in dry weather.
If the game was aiming for balance between each views as some of you try to imply, it should obviously also manage to obscure these views even in dry weather conditions. And guess what? It doesn't.

just finished my first race on the first japan track.

My god, its so beautiful. Those cherry blossums, that scenary. So good.

Easily my favourite set of tracks
