A nation of wizards.
Beat me to it.
A nation of wizards.
They will be making their eccentric entertainment for senior citizen since any day now their retired population will exceed working population.
Fair enough, if they weren't so opposed of immigration or hostile to foreigners they might be able to mingle a bit more. Even places like Europe and Australia is more of a melting pot.
However Japan is also very clean with low Crime rates among other things. It's a very lawful community. (Which is probably why the Law side is more appealing in Japan for SMT while we think it's the worst thing ever here in US)
Can somebody tell me why the work hours in Japan are so insane for this to happen?
Working in Japan sounds like a nightmare. But why is that the case?
Yeah what the actual shit at finding condoms in Japan. I found ONE store that sold them, a Family Mart in Chuo, Tokyo, which is appropriate given the district it is (business - think paid sex workers would be common here, no?).
I was there last week and searched high and low in a Life supermarket in Osaka. No dice. Was bizarre.

Aside from the "giant" Condom store in Harajuku, I can't imagine where else you would buy them.
The low crime thing had an effect though.
Many shops outside of tourist spots are not protected. I'm talking like the keeper will go to toilet and leave expensive shit just lying around.
You can go to a phone booth and leave your wallet, and find it there the next day.
This is nothing to do with work hours man.
You have no idea how much stuff like this makes me cringe everytime it happens in anime.
Seriously it creeps me out how they make such a big deal about simple shit like "holding hands", "a guy looking at a girl's butt" (with the guy overacting like he just committed murder when the girl notices), or dare I say... "Calling Senpai by his...FIRST NAME! OMG OMG OMG!"
It's like love is some kind of forbidden fruit in anime.

I can't fully express why, but I think it's the language that causes this. Youths and adults have no way to directly flirt or be open in such as way that they would ever get to the point where asking for sex wouldn't sound too forward or embarrassing. At least without heavy amounts of slang.
Also their attitudes is that it is embarrassing and they never talk about their sexuality. Not all of them, but you know. Manko being taboo and all that.
It's purely cultural of course. Japanese that travel become far less embarrassed as the more they get approached the more they realise it isn't the end of the world to flirt.
Maybe they need to take steps towards enforcing a standard 8 hour workday.
Dude..
This scene is like a documentary of Japan.
Isn't that all just anime overacting though and not actually a deal in the real world at all?
This is just batshit crazy. It has to be more than work hours, aren't their living spaces impossibly small as fuck and provide zero privacy in terms of "noises" on top of the social stigma that I imagine to be the case when it comes to *gulp* sex?
Am I rite or amirite?
It all makes sense now, it's a conspiracy!
All you guys gearing up to fly out there are assuming the girls want to have sex.
They don't. With anyone.
Actually at least in Tokyo, the apartments are super modern. But people only live in them to work, at which point they are either already married or not dating (haha).
So these 30 y/o single girls live with their parents.
Go out during the day and every cafe is packed full in the afternoon with girls. I think it's like what, at any given place at least 50% of them are single and among them are vigins?
To be fair, all women sounds like puppies being choked to death in every man/woman porn.
This is why waifuism needs to be eradicated
You're doing it wrong gaf. Why are you posting the plane.jpg for a country where people don't want to have sex?

Seriously, though, their sex culture is really backward and unhealthy. Censored real porn, uncensored anime porn, tentacles, body pillows, schoolgirls, host clubs, groping on the subway, pressure from work and school leaving no time for actual relationships, shame and taboos... it's just a clusterfuck at this point.
I really don't know if that would change anything. If I remember right germans work pretty much least in developed world and still Germanys birthrate is similar to Japan. It's pretty complex issue.

Jesus Christ wtf is up man.. I feel bad about what's happening. It's a damn crisis, is the government doing anything about this? Da fuck start dispelling all the taboo shit.

Maybe its overpopulation
A nation of wizards.
many women in their 30's still virgins is eye-opening. Guess Japan has to check itself.
Government?
What do you think they can do? Put porn on TV after 11? (tbh it is kinda like that anyway, just never sex)
Force Dramas to have a sex scene quota? (I would personally want this to happen.)
Then there are things like...
Show them sex education videos in school?
At least with that last one, including handing out condoms and shit for free to 14 y/os are things governments do to stop teenage pregnancy.
Sex is taboo in society. Talk about it, and it's hentai (perverted). No one even kisses on New Years countdown (I was there in Harajuku for 2015).
I wonder what Japan's cultural attitude is to an unmarried/unwed woman living with her boyfriend or partner.
I'm also curious what the attitude is about premarital sex.
I'm not Japanese, but if it's anything like my parents, I can guess why they aren't having sex.
You guys dont really believe these stats do you? They live with there parents that is true. Common to be a virgin at 30 is laughable, I'm sure it is way more common in the US to be a virgin at 30 Japan has no religious or cultural hang ups about premarital sex. My experience and lived there and worked as a "salary man". The country is way more sexually open then North America its just culturally different. Those same women giggling and smiling through there hands at you that they are a virgin will take you to a love hotel and get all kinds of freaky. Its just part of the game and weird cutesy shit they do. It was by far the culture that was most accepting of affairs and secret relationships. Accepting is an understatement its practically encouraged.
