Fighting Games Weekly | Jan 19-25 | As Seen On WSHH

Hotel and Flight booked. Cheaper than 2013 when I got it hella late, lol.

Also Jazz, that stickbug event is in Japan during NWM weekend, so nope for me. I've got JP guests to take care of, lol.

Disappointed in no KoF, no idea if entry numbers were declining as bad in some of the more KoF focused countries, makes sense to drop out, but still would've liked to see it.

Super surprised BlazBlue didn't take the other anime slot after GG, had great finals and reception and Ark/Arc Sys Moneys was hype.

Anyone else have a problem with Evo major games being ones that come out like a month or two before Evo starts? I mean it's great that they're new and fresh things for the FGC, but I dunno, kinda don't like the idea of giving out an Evo title and cash moneys to super new games with young baby meta, not trying to deminish the title, but the games are suuuper new.

maybe ive been out of the loop but twitch has been absolute garbage these last few days. shits not even loading blah blah blah. are they having problems or some shit?

Poor UNIEL

Best anime game goes unnoticed again

an answer would be tight :)
I'm always under the impression that Twitch is shitting itself; it's a classic instance where it's growth is far surpassing the company's ability to keep up with it. It could also be your ISP throttling or packet shaping traffic from Twitch, because they use a ton of bandwidth and American ISPs in particular are amazingly awful.

Fighting games are often the most fun before the meta stabilizes. That's when you see the creative thinkers like the Viscants of the world shine over the technicians.

hmm last few days twitch has been borderline abysmal. the streams have been fine but pages havent been loading and the goddamn site itself doesnt even load. thats all im askin

Plane tickets should have been dropped in price. Airlines trying to ride cheaper gas and baggage fees for as long as they can.

I'll book my stuff in Feb.

Yeah, same here. I'll have more money saved up by then. A friend of mine is already talking about getting a suite, and I'm sitting here like

damn man wait until I get paid and we have a solid headcount.

Anyone who was genuinely hoping for UNIEL is delusional.

Also plane tickets are around $400 for me as well. Doesn't seem too bad considering it's an international flight. Still need to find someone to share hotel room, or convince one of my friends to go with me...

hotel booked, staying at Bally's since I gather it's the same location as 2013, want to be as close as possible.

Flight won't get booked til like June since that's the cheapest time to book based on my experience

I didn't follow P4U so I ask: is there really a competitive community in the states on this game? Like bigger than Uniel?

I think it's bigger than UNIEL, and a ton of people picked up (and quickly dropped) the first game. At this point just being an EVO game will keep the community steady, which is good because I would guess a lot of the community would be willing to drop the game if GGXrd was the only anime game at EVO.

People here have been dumping on it since before release. People who are dedicated to it play it, but general anime players are more likely to be off in Xrd land. 2.0 sounds like it's better, but it's only been a few days since arcade release; no idea what the state of the game is going to look like once it plays out more.

I'm totally not salty that CP Extend didn't make it or anything. Not one bit.

Atlus might have some hand in P4U2 but the strong international presence sure helps too. All the big P4U2 players are guaranteed to come considering they showed up for 2013 too.

Registration numbers are going to be massive judging by the fact they've been growing every year. SF4 was 1.6k in 2013 and almost 2k in 2014. This year after showing off dat e-sports money for SF5 and Capcom Cup bringing in over 90k viewers at peak internationally I predict 2.2k will be broken quite easily. Melee went from 700 in 2013 to almost 1k in 2014. It will probably bring in as many players as Apex if not more. The only game that might see a slight decline is Marvel. With all those new games like Smash 4, Tekken, and GG I don't know how they're going to have room to do anything in there! Best of luck to the staff. I don't envy them. lmao

Plus, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the Bally's event hall isn't as big as the LVH's hall last year? Last year's hall was freaking huge, and it was awesome.

I don't recall 2013's hall being that large.
