Just Rosalina for me, but I'm not too worried about missing out on her. I'm actually more worried about the two Lucarios I have on order because of how TRU fucked up Wave 2 orders so badly.

Those are the ones you don't have? I think it will be doable for you to get Sonic and Meta-Knight. Good luck on Shulk though.

I think I messed up by not preordering Sheik and Meta-Knight. Granted that is just going off of "character is popular = more stock" rather than taking into account store exclusives.
 
I missed Wave 3 entirely. Is there any chance I can get a Shulk if I run to a GameStop right as soon as they open, you think? Or will no GameStops have him on shelves? Same thing for Meta Knight and Best Buy.
 
I only pre-ordered Sonic because he & Mega Man (who I didn't pre-order) were the two I truly wanted because I want the 3rd party characters. I sadly missed out on Shulk since I kind of wanted him character-wise as well, plus I figured he might be rare due to being exclusive.

I mean, you might get lucky. But consider that:

I. They only took enough to fill pre-orders.

II. You will need to get there an hour maybe hours early to be there first, so no scalper or other desperate collector will get the 1 or 2 extras they might get.

III. Shulk is only aivalble at this one store. Can't get it anywhere else.

IV. He's not popular in NA and is from a Niche series. Meaning Nintendo won't be supplying this character that much.

Meta knight should be ok if you go at open as they do not allocate stock based on preorders.

GameStop good luck, at the very most we will get 2 to 3 extra, sometimes 0.

Your best bet might be to call any/all local Gamestops to have them hold you one.

The good thing is that February 1st is on a Sunday so, at the very least, you won't have to stand around for hours waiting for the UPS truck to show up. You'll know right away if you can get one or not.

So far, Nintendo has done nothing to make us expect anything but the worst. Even preorders have been canceled at some places.

It's up to them to supply enough and they haven't to this point.

I might go for it, though. I COULD hit up Target at 8am to secure a Rosalina, eat breakfast, and wait outside my GameStop for an hour or so. It really is up to my desire for these things.
 
I guess it looks like 2/1 is an official date now. That's... perfect since I'll be out of town. :( I can try to get Meta Knight at a Future Shop/Best Buy in Canada, but I'm really worried about Rosalina. I'm hoping there's a shit load in stock at the Target stores... but I don't trust the scalpers at all. And I need one for me and one for my wife.
 
Several of all of them, Shulk been the most with 5. followed by DDD and Ike with 4.

And all of them are called for, people won´t stop asking about Shulk at my store.

You might as well start looking at sites to import from regarding Shulk. They likely only ordered enough to fulfil pre-orders.

Meta Knight you'll have a better chance with. Depending on how much stock BB gets, you should be able to get him as soon as he's available.
 
I still think I'm fucked with even the basic Wave 3 amiibos. I went on GameStop.com and pre ordered all of them. But I set it to "pick up in store" and selected the store near me. But they didn't take any money from me.

I feel so uneasy. Like they aren't going to actually save these for me. That ordering online this way, doesn't actually tell that store to put aside them for me.

So I fully expect to show up and them not have my amiibos.

Online preorders don't charge you even for instore pickup from what I've noticed

GO IN THE STORE LOL. You probably missed my last message but you pay in store and if you prepay you'll get your stuff buddy.

Never had a problem with site to store besides the fact that every once in a while you'll get a dick employee that if there is not an X next to paid in full they'll assume you don't want it and sell it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Gamestop have a policy that they have to hold your preorders for 2 days before they can sell them to other people? Not sure if this accounts for "pick up in store" orders though. Also doesn't account for employees selling your stuff to other people by stupid mistake.

If you put money down they hold your preorders for 48 hours. So 2 days.

I made sure I ordered Shulk in-store last year.

Preorders have to be helf for 48 hours or they can sell it off to people. Unless of course, they lack the goods to fulfill all preorders, then it's first come first serve for the preordered mcguffins.

So if I go tomorrow with my printed out order, they will let me put down money to secure them in store?

Wish it would have told me on their site lol When I placed my orders online there wasn't really any instructions.

I talked with my local Gamestop manager and he knows how crazy people are for Amiibo. He said they're making sure everyone gets called the day before, or the day of release, as they've received so many pre-orders for in-store pickup.
 
I'm sure it'e been discussed but what does everyone think the Mario Party Amiibos will do to the availability of their Smash counterparts? Do we really expect retail will carry a Smash figure and a Mario Party Figure for each character that has one of each?

Currently I have all Amiibos either purchased or pre-ordered trough Wave 3 other than Mario and Pikachu. I grabbed the lesser characters first thinking the Mario, Peach's, etc.. would be readily available throughout. Now I'm wondering if they will keep making both.

Gamestop has only failed me once with a pre-order and that was for Disgaea 4, but in their defense, I didn't pick it up ti'll 2 days later. i trust them with this kind of thing. Best Buy and Toys R Us are the ones I'm worried about

I've thought about this as well, but I would be surprised if Nintendo just let Mario/Luigi/Peach/Yoshi/Bowser disappear from shelves for a while. Wild guess that they will be kept around until the release of the Super Mario line, and then phased out.
