I actually put $5 on Shulk instore day one. Then I was worried so I placed another order online for instore pick-up when it came back in stock along with some other Amiibos. During an unrelated visit I asked and they said I had just ONE pre-ordered. I didn't argue but are people saying they should actually show my online pre-order and my in-store pre-order under the same place? I assumed they wouldn't actually let me have both or something.

It probably made a second account for you under your phone number or last name. It did the same to me and I work there... I literally have 3 accounts because of the new POS lol

EDIT: (IMPORTANT) ANY ONE WITH IN STORE PICKUPS FROM GAMESTOP.COM PRINT OUT YOUR ORDER FORMS AND TRY TO PUT AT LEAST 5.00 ON THEM BECAUSE OUR POS SEEMS TO BE SCREWING AROUND WITH THOSE ORDERS.
 
My girlfriend is currently in North Carolina with her Mom, she's going to hit the Gamestops for any loose Shulks after she tries to get Rosaina from Target.

here's hoping I can help some friends out :)

Oh and horizon in case you couldn't tell, I also very much want Robin. He's one of my mains along with Shulk and Toon Link.
 
I'm having a dilemma on how to display my amiibos once the Mario Party ones come out.
The shelf I'm using holds 9 amiibos per row. I could probably squeeze in 10 if I had to. So, right now, having 18 amiibos is perfect. Two even rows.

Once I have my Wave 3's, I'll have 29. That's uneven, but I can deal with it. What I can't deal with are the red bases for the Mario Party ones! They need to be together, but I can't have them mixed in between Wave 3 and 4. I could move them to the beginning, but that would mean 6 red-bases and 3-black bases on one row. Can't have that!

Such a dumb thing to worry about...

Yeah I will do that, thanks. Will be visiting Gamestops during lunches tomorrow, Friday, and next week. I hate being "that guy" trying to get something that everyone else planned for, but no other options at this point.

No idea how that will fit in to my schedule. I'll prob have my GF go to TRU when it opens and have her split up.

Maybe after going shopping one day in Japan, you could slip the custom Rosalina with the Ring into one of her bags or purse (if she's carrying a larger one) and have her look for something (chapstick or something?) when you get back to the hotel. Would b e a less public setting, though coordinating it could be tricky

Also if you are looking for Shulk do remember that GameStop.com is sold out of PREORDERS. It's very likely on Sun the 1st they'll open up general orders for a while until they sell out of those as well.

Oh, thanks. I was under the impression GS opened at 10 on Sundays like BB and TRU. I see they open at 11 so yeah, that's what's up! Target, BB, GS, TRU

Ha. Well, I'm getting a kick (and feel like I'm getting kicked!!) by amiibo hunting, but as with most things game related, this whole thing is ultimately 'such a dumb thing to worry about', but I use this corner of the internet to just forget it all for a second or two and enjoy the madness! :D

I was gonna say...
I saw some people that have metaknight preordered received emails from best buy about his release date. But did everyone? I'm pretty sure I have him preordered but didn't receive an email.

I'm being kind of dense here, but what do you mean by Best Buy not allocating based on preorders? I'm not sure if I'm meant to interpret that as good or bad since it might mean they don't order enough to cover all of their preorders, but on the other hand they might order an abundance for general purchasing with preorder numbers not influencing that.

You still shows as Junior??? Maybe it just needs time. I posted my 300th post and saw that I was still a Junior. I went to bed after that. The next morning, I made another post (301) and then realized that I was no longer a Junior. So, it either happened on post 300... and then took overnight. Or happened right when I posted 301.

I know getting Shulk is a long shot at this point. I think he'll be the rarest in Wave 3 and possibly the rarest overall. Unless Nintendo did a better job supplying him after they saw the demand in Wave 1 and 2.

At GS we basically order what we need for preorders with 1-3 things for the shelf depending on popularity. A normal retail chain orders whatever they need. So Best buy Should order enough for the in store pickups and enough to fill whatever space they have allocated for it on the shelves.


Basically the opposite of GS, they care about Shelf Space first, in store pick ups second because they survive on the impulse buy.

Oh trust me, I noticed T_T
I started double guessing myself if I really had preorders for metaknight and Shulk. Just went digging through my emails and found confirmation for both of them on Dec 8th! Phew!

So there should be a few extra Shulks then, right? I remember one of the two main employees that I see there said something similar to what you posted, with the addition of "we sometimes only carry certain games because someone made a pre-order".
 
Gosh. Just now realizing that I didn't really plan very well for the 1st.

I pre-ordered everything at the Gamestop closest to my house and work. However, I have a pre-order Lucario card at a TRU that is pretty far away from there... but is very close to a Target and Best Buy.

I want to go to Target right at 8:00 because Rosalina is the only one I don't have reserved. So, hopefully I'm in and out of Target. But now I have two hours to burn before anything else opens and I can't really leave that area because the TRU where I have Lucario reserved is right there. Maybe I can just go to a Target really far away and spend two hours driving to that TRU...

In the end, this is Toys R Us' fault for only having two stores in this area. Or my fault for not pre-ordering at the Gamestop near all of these other places. And for pre-ordering Meta Knight and have him shipped to my house instead of picking him up.

I think the odds of them having a few extra is very slim. They will only get in enough to fill pre-orders and might have some display unit figures. Unless they sell those...

Yeah. Going in without a pre-order you are just asking to be turned away :p

I'm half-tempted to cancel my Lucario mail order as I really don't have any need for two. I guess it's best to keep it though... just in case. Maybe someone on here would need my extra.

Usually if someone preorders something we will get 1 extra, with Amiibo though it hasn't been like that usually every 10 orders or so we will get 2-3. With Shulk though I've been told we will be luck to 1-3 extra in total if we are lucky. Please do call the Saturday before launch to confirm so you do not waste your time.

Erma gherd. So Gamestop camping it is? No gamestop near me, so fiance has to do it, not sure if I'm alright with her going to Gamestop at opening on potential Amiibo rush day alone.

Even if you do get 1-3 extra, you would have to be the first person there. Given scalpers and fanatics, you might need to be there an hour (hours early).

Basically it seems like a massive long shot.

I gotta go in to pick up Sonic, plus see if there's any Rosalinas at the Target across the street. Though that's definitely a good idea for those who were going in just for Shulk.

Do not Camp. Call on Sat, if we do have extras come a bit before open. Most Gamestops open between 11-12pm on a Sunday!

The odds of GS getting extra shulks is very very slim. Assuming they get 1-3 extra, you still need to be first. So call a day before Sunday and make sure they have an extra and then line up early. Would suck to camp out and them not getting any extras.
