They are the same price that Pit and Captain Falcon are currently going for on Ebay.. which is to say it seems the re-sell market has become saturated in Wave 2. They both were impossible to get here in DFW, while I found about 10 WFT and two villagers among a Wal-Mart and two targets the weekend after the D-word was first muttered. I'm pointing that out because despite the ease of which I attained the rarest ones here, there are far less actively sold on ebay than the impossible-to-find Pit and CF. This is evidence to me that too many people had the same opportunistic idea. Hopefully, they'll be disappointed that Pit and the Captain are going for only about double their retail value despite their rarity in stores, and they'll drop out of the game. Some of them anyway.. the casual re-sellers, at least. If they do, then maybe it'll be easier to find them again. If they don't, then I'll pay the prices like those seen in that link after I've taken a shot at getting them for $12.

EDIT: I just bought Shulk. It's the US version. Even at $25...fuck it. It means I'm 100% guaranteed him. Awesome.

The shipping options are also rather expensive. And I just dropped 27 on Marth from Nippon Yasan (which looks like it'll ship with Rosalina!!!), Too rich for my blood at this point. I think I rather take a shot at locating it in stores.
EDIT: Actually, guessing when it'll ship, I think I'll get paid once it's ready, and if I find it before hand, I can cancel it.

Does anyone know how reliable Play-Asia is with pre-orders not getting cancelled? I want to cancel my amazon.de Shulk now, but I don't want Play-Asia cancelling my order and then winding up with no Shulk (sigh, this is stressful)
Friend of a friend is helping out with getting some jpn Rosalina seeing how we're not too sure how to get her in Canada yet.

Ordered Bowser, Toon Link, Ike and Sheik from Amazon FR for 13,10 a pop.
Ordered Lucario, Marth and Kirby from Amazon DE for 15,25/17,95.
I wonder which is faster considering they were ordered practically at the same time and I live in a country bordering both of them.
So I only need Captain Falcon, Little Mac and Rosalina now. Might have a place to get Falcon, but won't order till tomorrow when I can also try to get Rosalina.

Thank you so much for posting about PlayAsia. It sucks that I had to pay $25. But I did it. Because I know Shulk will probably be hard as fuck to get. I had no pre-order. And even if I do end up getting him on the 1st, oh well. I'll just give away him to someone else for free (since he will be an extra).
This 100% puts my mind at ease, since Rosalina comes to my house tomorrow (because thisbjeason hooked me up).
Tomorrow I'll go to GS and put money down on my Online order (to secure my Wave 3 regular Amiibos).
What a great night. GF wants to get married. Just got my US Shulk 100% secured. Feel like dancing.
Def too expensive. But I'm determined to get all the Smash line. And Shulk is the one I really think I'll have trouble getting. I didn't have a pre-order, and GS sucks ass with their stock (them only getting enough to fill their pre-orders). So this was worth it to me. Just to put my mind at ease, and secure my Shulk. Woot.

This was before my stairs came in. The stairs look 10x better (especially in person). Because if you just have them flat, then you have all the amiibos one in front of the other. You really have to move them around, so you can see each one. The stairs eliminates that issue as they are raised. Plus it just looks damn fancy.

For those OCD Amiibros like myself, i discovered a way (although I'm sure I'm not the first) to get Amiibos out of the box without damaging the look of the box at all. You just carve away the bottom plastic, peel it off, and then pull the Amiibo out from the bottom. The box looks like it hasn't been touched afterward. Now I can actually use my Little Mac!

Works well. I took all of my Amiibos out of the box for my display, but wanted to keep the packaging pristine. Works great.

Disappointed they lacked Little Mac or Marth (although hopefully I can get a Marth reprint) as those are the only two hard ones left to get that I absolutely need

Haha I figured there would be a YouTube video...and he even used a box cutter. I only used a steak knife lol.

I'm beyond exited. I just ran into the other room and told my GF, and she screamed and started to dance.
I'm super happy for you Azula, I ordered a Meta Knight on there with a dummy credit card so if Best Buy lets me down I have a second choice but if they come through it's a dummy card with no money.

Yea? Because when I ordered it on Best Buy it wasn't available for shipping any more and only one store in my area was still accepting it for in store pick up so I'm secretly worried I was too late haha... with all my Little Mac horror stories I feel I'm properly paranoid.
Edit: especially worried because I used that 10.00 credit BB gave out for users that hadn't used the site in a while so I feel a 3.00 Meta Knight is too good to be true haha.

As for the other Wave 3 Amiibos, I really only want Meta Knight and King Dedede...think they should be hard to find?

Basically, I only want ONE of each Amiibo for my display case. Anything extra, I'll pick up just to give out for free on this community to anyone that needs them (to finish their collection). Pretty much how I've been doing this.

Just got done checking out nowinstock.net they say wave 4 is available on April 24. Can anyone confirm this to be true?
I'll be going to BB anyways to get my own (hopefully I can get one, I have no pre-order). I'll be getting extras regardless. So no worries. But yeah, just let me know if you don't need one on the 1st, that way I can give it to someone else.

According to Destructoid. Wave 4 of the amiibo line is coming! Robin, Lucina, Pac-Man, Ness, Wario, and Charizard are all confirmed for April 24. On March 20, a brand new Mario-specific collection is coming, and includes new characters not based on the Super Smash Bros. models (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and Toad.)
That is the date floating around for Wave 4 (the release date). Sounds about right. They said Spring.
We just want to know the pre-order date!

Yeah, the stairs is what really sells it for me. I'm definitely going to look into getting a setup like that. I would like to get wave 1 and 2 complete before then.

Don't have a Shulk pre-order and IMO he's going to be the hardest one to get in Wave 3. Multiple people at GS have said that each store is ONLY getting enough to fill pre-orders and no extras. And even if they get extras, it will be 1-3 at best. Given their history and track record, that is probably likely.
That said, could you walk in on Feb 1st and get it for $12 without a pre-order? Sure. It's a gamble. I'm set on getting every single Smash line Amiibo. So to me, $25 is worth it since I didn't have a pre-order. Now I know he's 100% secure and I don't have to worry about him.
I was late to collecting, so I missed out on his pre-order. In the future, I will always pre-order so I don't have to deal with this again.
SO...yeah maybe, it's dumb to pay $25. But I'm okay being dumb.
Play Asia is over priced. I wouldn't order from them normally. Only special cases (and would only do like ONE order lol).

Yeah, you can probably still change it if you want, I gather the U.S Shulk is gonna go faster in Play-Asia. Either way it works out for me that it comes out later in Japan, since its a pre order I don't get charged until it ships, and if I get really lucky and find a Shulk before that, I can just cancel.
