I'd guess the on screen version of him is similar to that.

He seemed to count on getting shot in the head and his skull is massively thick or something. It's not entirely impossible.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Greenstein

In 1914, a local Texas man who was obsessed with Greenstein's wife shot him between the eyebrows from a distance of 30 feet. Amazingly, Greenstein left the hospital on the same day - the bullet did not enter his skull, but was flattened by the impact.

edit: Greenstein performed as The Mighty Atom and was the inspiration for DC's Atom.

Good episode.

Out of shape Vinnie 'ball crusher' Jones just isn't intimidating. Should have kept the shirt on...

Thea with dem sword skills...perhaps the Lady Deathstroke we deserve and the one who will dismember Roy when the time comes?

I feel they could have left the Ollie scenes out until the next episode or episode after that, keep the illusion of Oillie being dead alive with the viewers for a little while longer. Showing him being saved made the pre Christmas finale feel hollow.

Roy impressed a lot this episode. Can't wait to see him go out on his own and I'm horrified to learn that he won't be flipping any more? Say it ain't so...what the hell. Stupid, stupid decision. I don't necessarily love them but they are a character staple. Roy just isn't Roy without his crazy and completely unnecessary flippage.

Felicity turning the lights off in the lair was unintentionally hilarious. I know they didn't mean it to be, but damn, I laughed my ass off.

Damn, that reality check for Ray. Damn.

Dat Canary. Laurel doesn't look too good in the wig though and I hope she gets her ass handed her when she tries to take on someone more threatening.

Eh, everybody knew that Ollie wouldn't actually be dead. No point in continuing that tease.

I think the writers just don't do private drama very well on this show.

Like, when Felicity is the spunky IT girl and compassionate friend, she's great. But when they try to deepen her character, the writing basically falls flat on its face.

Same with Laurel, when she's beginning to kick ass and take names, it's a real "fuck yeah" moment and so you get swept up in it and it's fun, but when they're showing her downward spiral and addiction pills and drink, they don't do a very good job of showing it effectively.

It's the same with all the romance triangles and Ollie's hypocrisy and so on. They're great at high stakes and fun and superheroics, but real human drama is pretty hit-and-miss on this show.

Vinnie's shape was not problem for me.

Many would say that Ra's also had underwhelming physique, but good presence and direction made them both intimidating.

That's a fair point. He did have a good presence.

Sure, but it would have been nice to play along for a little while longer and then have him reappear in Starling and tell the story of his'resurrection' through flashbacks.

Yeah he was shot at twice and I have no idea what happened.
I chalked it up to the gun being badly misaligned and that was his "secret" whenever he whipped out that particular gun, but then I didn't know Brick's DC origins before this.

Felt Ra's has been handheld a bit terribly though.
I was hoping for something more epic than "I found you in a ravine and you're now okey-dokey given that my tomato-headed wife used powers on you that are clearly related to something that was in the flashback", honestly.

Vinnie is pretty out of shape. Surprised they didn't want him to bulk up for the role considering he's called Brick.

Yup, this is what I was thinking/hoping.

But looking around, if his character is based on New Earth Brick, maybe he's not really out of shape but actually in character?

Great episode but I can't take Laurel seriously as the black canary this soon.

Felicity was fine for me, she is the only one acting as a normal human being.

Hey Facebook! The Sinceriously Campaign had a phenomenal first day. It far outpaced our highest expectations, and for that I wanted to extend a very big thank you. A sincerious thank you. I'm waiting very patiently for my shirts and then we'll have some fun with them! xo, SA

Roy's sticking out like a sore thumb. He has no character arc and even less of an emotional range.

"My ex-girlfriend might be a murderer....mmmmmm...kay?"

"My mentor and the person I idolized might be dead...mmmm....cool, I suppose."

What a strange little man.

Roy was raised by the streets. I imagine this isn't new for him.

"Girlfriends catch bodies and mentors die everyday, B." - Roy "Arsenal" Harper

Man can you imagine how beast Thea would be had Merlyn trained her since Ollie had vanished 7 years prior?

Shiiiiiit

Even in season one they showed she had great aim, she seems to have a natural talent for it. If she had training all this time she'd probably be above Oliver. I wouldn't be surprised if she's still a better archer than him.

Felicity has become atrocious.

Thea becoming so proficient so fast in martial arts is a joke.

Roy was awesome this episode.

Laurel? Still not buying it.

Diggle be diggling.

I personally think she looks like 32ish on the show, but wow I just searched her up and she's actually 23 irl. Maybe I was wrong

The adventures of Arsenal and Glock product placement man, I think an episode where arrow team look clueless about their job without Oliver need to happen more times. Also who bring Oliver back to life?

Goddam time perception was all over the place this episode :'(
Felt like merlyn traveled all the way to the mountain and back to starling in like 30min or so...

Good return. I also laughed when Felicity turned off the lights, it looked so godamn silly :lol

Roy didnt do any flips, I was expecting him to do a triple flip over Brick's head

Ollie is returning too quickly imo

I hope they use Oliver's absence to progress Roy to the gun-focused version of Arsenal.

That or
go hard and do the whole lose his arm story arc and have it eventually be replaced by Ray Palmer.

Either way, I want the gun use to be the wedge that pushes Roy off to the Titans show.
