I disagree, at least from my experience (France)...

I visited about 10 shops in the past days, and Sheik was the ONLY wave 3 Amiibo I've seen till the last shop*, and there were probably about more than a dozen available. It was also available online, while Lucario and Ike wasn't (and Rosalina is awfully difficult to find, and prices are skyrocketting)

(* which unfortunately was closing, but I think I've seen at least Toon Link and Bowser from the outside... I'll be at the opening tomorrow morning ^_^ )
 
I ordered most of wave 3 online. The only one I missed out on is Ike and King Dedede so I'm not stressing, at least until Ike and Dedede and Marth restocks starts to roll around.

I'd say Captain Falcon is a semi-rare, as they stocked a good amount a few weeks after he came out.

Captain Falcon has become pretty rare. Not a unicorn, but very uncommon.

Yeah I have all of wave 3 ordered on Amazon. Just concerned that is no date for them yet. Had the same issue with Wave 2 and ended up getting that wave all from Toys R Us and cancelling the Amazon orders.
 
Totally off topic kinda but Is there a list of discontinued Wii U games anywhere out there?
Or 3ds games? Was thinking of the discontinued amiibo and was wondering...

I think Sheik will be hard to get in NA. It's an obscure female character in one mainline Zelda and one spinoff.

Actually kind of regretting not getting Toon Link, I might head back up there in a bit and pick it up, but I think that will be one of the commons.

I could use this too. Just got a WiiU and wanted Pikmin 3... lo and behold, Nintendo doesn't print it anymore. So I just want to know what other WiiU gems I may have missed.
 
Thanks for the heads up on TRU! I just came back from my local one and they had a lot of Bowser, a lot of Toon Link, and looked like only 4 Sheik. No Lucario's yet, she said, but they said they will still hold them for any preorders. Luckily I did a preorder long ago. But of those 3 I mentioned, I grabbed one of each.

If I had to guess, Bowser and Toon Link will be very common, and Sheik will probably be a rare or very uncommon.

I think the rarities are going to be very different in the U.S. compared to Europe and Japan, especially considering we have retailer exclusives here.

I'm just judging the initial numbers in the first stock of Wave 3 at a couple stores. At the store near me, it looks like we got 20 Bowsers, 20 Toon Links, 12 Lucarios and four Sheiks. IntelliHealth said the store near him got about 20 Bowsers, 12 to 14 Toon Links and only four Sheiks.

As someone who's finally making the digital transition for 3DS (I absolutely love cartridges). I appreciate how they're available, but KIU was a game that a stand was considered necessary enough to include with retail copies. Can't get that on the eshop.

That being said, I never ever used the stand. Hands of steel!
 
I stopped by my local Toys'R'Us on my way home from work just to see if they had anything after reading this thread earlier in the day. At first I didn't see anything, but then I was able to spot 2 new faces! This is what it looked like:

I decided to try to buy them (I was denied 3 days in a row leading up to the wave 1 release at Walmart) and I was able to pay for them! I also found a lone Captain Falcon hanging out :p . The box is beat to hell, but whatevs, haha

Have all non-exclusives and Shulk pre-ordered and paid off at my GameStop store. I have gotten every other figure from there so I think they are safe. I have Lucario coming from eBay TRU page (hopefully...) and Meta Knight ordered from Best Buy's site. Haven't heard a word from them about it since I pre-ordered so hopefully that's fine as well.

I think I'll be able to score a Rosalina on release if I go to Target so not really sweating it.

Overall I've had to hunt a total amount of 0 times out in the wild. Rosalina will be my first trek out for Amiibo's on purpose lol. Looking forward to it though.

I'm sooooooo jealous of everyone with local TRU's. I'd love to be able to just stop by for a Bowser to surprise my friend with. (might be his favorite character of any form of media. Absolutely loves him)

All TRUs across the country probably have Wave 3 sitting in their storerooms. It just depends on whether the employees have decided to put the stock out yet. Right now, corporate has authorized Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik to be sold, while Lucario must be held until the end of the month (conflicting reports of Jan. 30, Jan. 31 or Feb. 1).

A manager at the TRU near me kinda inferred that there would be restocks of Marth and Pit by the end of next week, but she might have not known anything for sure and was just being nice by saying that she'd set them aside for my girlfriend if they came in.
 
Man, I can't believe TRU put out some Wave 3 amiibos early!
Ironically enough, I considered going to TRU this morning but decided there was no need to go today... *facepalm*

If anyone gets Toon Link and has Hyrule Warriors, can you see if HW recognizes Toon Link as a link amiibo and gives you the Spinner.

I mainly just want Captain Falcon restocks, he is the only one in Wave 2 I am missing.

Believe me if I was I wouldn't be trying so hard to find them, wouldn't be refreshing Target over 5 sleepless nights for Rosalina preorders, wouldn't have gamestop, target.com, bb, tru, frys, fye, walmart pages open refreshing amiibo search pages, would know when these stupid dates were and wouldn't be posting 99% as much because I wouldn't be so worried. :(
