Shelf in a local store. Fun fact: That was once the PSP/Vita shelf. You can still see some games on the far left.
This was the Amiibo section of Super Target on a somewhat larger scale. There were more in each row instead of there being more rows.

god I'm so weak, was just planing to get a few and before I knew it I have all of wave 1&2 and preorder for all of wave 3 except Shulk, Meta Knight and Rosalina...

Thank god for amazon UK/DE

Of course Greenville and Cedar, who lives there lol. But in all seriousness as soon as the first guy posted images I went hunting and neither had new Amiibo out. Was probably JUST too early

I do actually =). I grew up in GR but just recently bought a house out here. It's made amiibo hunting pretty difficult. Meijer is basically the only store that gets them and the stock is really random.

Just a heads up for Aussies, seems like Lucina has been taken off the EBgames website now.

This one is what every amiibo section of every store has looked like here in Australia for over a month.

Last time I checked, from my 7 local stores, one had two Pikachu's, one had one Pikachu and one Mario, and the other 5 had nothing.

Pretty much my experience too. Mario and Pikachu are the only things I can find anywhere :/

I'm going to say it. I was looking at my Amiibo collection, and I just don't like the design of the Kirby Amiibo. I get that he's supposed to be smaller, and I love the character and his series, but his Amiibo just looks so...out of place among the rest. Why couldn't they at least have designed him standing up, or or some pose besides sitting down?

I live in Canada sadly. I've got to say that between you and another poster, Frankfurt sounds like Amiibo heaven right now.

Whats with Germany and their monopoly on the Amiibo market?
Or does no one in Germany want Amiibos?

They restock very well in that area. There is also a crazy good Nintendo in-store in a city nearby.

And no, people want those Amiibos. That shelf alone changed from 1/4 to 2/4 to 3/4 Amiibo/Vita ratio. They sell like crazy, especially Villager/Mario /Pikachu.

Toys R Us in Aramingo, Philadelphia, PA did not have Wave 3 yet but they restocked most of Wave 1 including several Fox.

I'm going to another local Toys R Us, tomorrow, and see if they have them there.

So I just spoke to my friend in retail to confirm my Wave 3 order who said to me that the Australian Nintendo rep told him Nintendo is going to fuck all the eBay buyers over pretty soon.

By that he meant that apparently there's shitloads of stock of waves 1-3 sitting in the Japanese warehouse apparently that just hasn't been sent out, that's going to be released later. So I'm thinking of seeling my complete 3 wave set before that happens.

I saw complete sets of Wave 1-2 selling for over $500AU. I should be able to get $600 or more for all 3 waves.

I think it's a bit premature to say Sheik is going to be rare, based on a few stores in a chain releasing very first stock earlier than anticipated.

All this seeing Wave 3 when I can't get it has been hard, but I think I'll really flip my shit when people have Ness and Lucina, and I just have to look on in gut wrenching jealousy

Why are video games stores so awesome in Europe in Japan? :(

We're Nintendo's biggest market, we deserve better than empty shelves and shitty displays at Walmart. -_-

Is Nintendo ever going to just get it together with distribution? I don't want to be in all of this hunting business but I want to own a lot of these. I don't see their mindset with distributing this many units, people would buy more of this stuff.

That would be nice. I don't think Nintendo realized how big amiibos would get.

Wait, wouldn't more stock being available help buyers? I think it would screw over scalpers, no? Either way, hope that rumor is true. Amiibo availability for all!

God damn it NoA. It's times like this I wish I lived in Europe. Seeing all those Amiibos makes me wish I had friends in Europe or something. NoE has gotten way better over the last 4 or 5 years while every year NoA becomes worse and worse. Only a few more years till NoA turns into pre-rehab Lindsay Logan or pre-rehab Amanda Bynes. :P

I feel like Reggie then Iwata is killing the US as CEO, Shibata seems to be getting stuff done in EU. Small N3DS, Fatal Frame games, Disaster etc etc

There are lots of her in another store. Villager is hard to get, hype is real and he is undershipped.

From my perspective, Villager isn't really rare. Well, you are less likely to see him than, say, Mario, but it's far from rare.
In fact, I'd say that no amiibo is rare. I haven't been at the stores in Frankfurt since New Year's Eve, but further up northwest, you find pretty much any amiibo that you could be looking for - Villager, Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, Captain Falcon, Pit, whatever.
It's surreal seeing them just standing there, in almost every store I go to in my vicinity, and then going on here or on eBay and seeing how much more they can be worth just because of their location. It's crazy.

I just called Fry's and they say they have no record of a transaction, yet I called my credit card and they have a charge for 199$ authorized. :/ They said the next step is to just wait and see if Fry's actually charges my card and if they do, then recheck with them to see if I have an order, if not then I have to call my credit card company back and do a dispute. I have 100% trust in my credit card to get it straightened out and me not be charged for something I'm not getting, however, I don't want to be in this limbo of will I or won't I get a 3DS from Fry's cause what if I see a Target pre-order pop back up and I jump on that? I don't need two of these things :/

So if you, in the last few weeks, paid over $500 for waves 1 and 2, then only a week or so later, Nintendo stocked everyone up, wouldn't that make you feel fucked over?

Having paid $500 because you thought there'd be no other way to get them?

:\ I got Meta Knight from AmiAmi shipped to the US for close to the price it would be if i went to Best Buy and happened to find him on the shelf. AmiAmi has a short pre-order window, but unless things get better, i'm just going to start ordering them all the ones i can get through them instead of even bothering with US retailers. I know the shortages aren't happening because just because, but i'm done with retailer exclusives and jumping through hoops to get the ones i want.
