PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS4/PS3) | January 2015

Anybody play the Arc the Lad games and would recommend them? Considering getting all those for my Vita with the 10% discount (even though they're pretty cheap anyways) along with RE HD and Shadow Warrior.

I was recommended 1 and 2, so get those at least.

Woah Strike Suit Zero is only $4.

Anyone have any opinion on it? I'm vaguely interested in a mecha space battle sim but I wonder if a western indie can really do it justice. Should I not bother and just import Gundam games or something?

yep, flash sale.

If you don't have them, Fez, Unfinished Swan, Pixeljunk Monsters, Shadow Warrior and Super Stardust are all worth it. I think I'll get Costume Quest since it's one of the few I don't have but am interested in.

Love space sims but hated it. Monotonous and boring.

Everyone should get Don't Die Mr. Robot.

Just saw this in another thread: gamedealdaily is currently selling US and Canada $10 PSN codes for slightly under cost:
http://gamedealdaily.com/playstation-4/playstation-4-downloads/

Pretty small savings but might as well use it if you're going to buy stuff for the flash sale and 10% discount code.

(For some reason you can only buy one code at a time but there's nothing preventing doing multiple transactions)

EDIT: Now that I think about it, this is more than 10% off so it's actually a better deal than Sony's discount code lol. Although of course we can stack them and achieve even more savings!

Have... none of these, actually. Huh.

Wait, check that, have Rollers of the Realm. Recommending that. If you love pinball and you love RPGs, this is an awesome mix of both.

Everyone has to get Guacmelee now :D! The PS4 version has extra content while the Vita version plays great (the d-pad makes movement so great).

Great sale to push people using that 10% discount code.

Edit: It is odd, nothing in the sale interests me....as I own most of those games XD! I guess I'm at the point that I own so much for the Vita, there is no point in getting more for a while :). Don't know if that is a good or bad thing :l.

Either way, hope everyone takes advantage of this sale (along with the 2K and Square Enix sales); lots of great games to get across all of the active sales :).

DLC is super annoying. Search "senran kagura" - 156 items. I think all but 3 of those are DLC, and a bunch of that is free. They need a better search experience for games vs DLC

There's quite a few good things in there, they're just mostly stuff that's been PS+ or was already popular (for indie) years ago. Sort of why it's hard to recommend things, if you've kept up on games and PS+ there's not much, if you haven't, there is.

As of today I now have 2 1/2 folders full of Vita games. 8 of those games were bought in the past 2 weeks.

I'm drowning in Vita games over here.

Edit: For some reason both the ps3 and vita version of Resogun are in my download list even though my ps+ sub ran out.

God, the flash sale my $3.54 and Vita was expecting.

What should I get? I'm thinking about Guacamelee! since I like mexican wrestling theme things and plattformers.

I think I'm buying like 15 games. This sale is really good at being a wishlist killer... can't wait for Rollers of the Realm. Lots of really solid games in this flash sale that I already own, too (everybody buy Tokyo Jungle).

Are all ps4 games cross buy if also on ? Any notable exceptions?

I'm currently playing Arc the Lad TotS on my ps2 and loving it. I bought Arc 1 recently for my vita, will buy the rest eventually.

Kika Card Gods? Any good?

Probably not, but it's a card game and it's dirt cheap, so I'm buying it.

Guess I'll go for SSD, Guacamelee (Vita) and Roller of the Realm (Vita).

Not sure about getting DDS1 and Nocturne since I own the physical versions.

After buying Ayesha Plus for $35.99, I was left with $4.94. The Unfinished Swan is $4.95. I guess I'm stuck with Resogun, unless the 10% off code is good for multiple purchases during the period.

I wonder when Rorona+ will get a price cut.

Also trying to trade in my physical copy of Ayesha (PS3). Apparently it's worth a whopping 0,15€ (US copy, selling Germany).

So with just two $20 PSN cards and a few cents I had in my wallet, I got Atelier Ayesha Plus, Resogun and Kilka Card Gods. I'm done for the month.

Lot of good games there. Hmm.

Fuck, sold out.

Baek must be happy that SSD is getting saleZ!

any thoughts on

FINAL FANTASY® V (PS3™/PSP®/PS Vita)
FINAL FANTASY® III

best versions? - I'm inclined to think the Vita is the best place to play them... but not sure if they are good ports (or the lowest price)

Final Fantasy V is another TOSE PSone port. I'm not sure if it's as bad as Chrono Trigger and the others though.

Final Fantasy III is fine. It's a PSP port of the DS remake, so if you want a higher res version you'll find it on mobile and PC. Otherwise, eh.

These guys send via email, right? Wonder if the CAD to USD exchange rate makes that still worthwhile for me.

eh what's TOSE?

i'm pretty much sitting on the fence with those two and Third Birthday

was about to get Citizens of Earth until I realised it's not cross-buy

TOSE is a Japanese dev house, secretly behind well over a thousand releases. They handled the majority (if not all) of Square's SNES ports on PSone. If you're not aware, some of them having really bad load times because TOSE's programmers felt it was a good idea to load the entire game into PSone's RAM. I don't remember if FFV is one of them.

Should I wait for a better deal than 10% off SK Bon Appetit? I still have SK2 to do and Estival Versus coming in about two months, I'm not sure one can handle all that massive...action based gameplay, in a timely fashion. I dunno how often XSeed/marvelous does sales. Especially in the US

I don't think there's any particular advantage to FFV PS1 over the GBA one, though in the west there was no SNES one to compare it to. It has the same problems the other SNES ports did, loading times. It's still a good, underrated FF, but I personally finished it on GBA. The changes aren't huge, but are welcome. If you need it portable at this point, it's probably Vita or emulated GBA, pick whichever is preferable/practical

It is.

It's garbage.

Then again, TOSE also did the very best version of the game. FF V GBA.

EDIT: Sir TapTap is wrong, unfortunately. The differences in quality between FF V on PSX and FF V on any other platform for the English release is profound.

FF V PSX actually does not have series load issues, those are saved for FF VI and Chrono Trigger. What it does have instead is a legion of bugs and the worst script localization of any FF game. Some of the bugs are game breaking. It also does not play nice with PS2 emulation.

FF V GBA
FF V Super Famicom
FF V iOS

FF V PSX.

Good gravy, I own almost all of the things in the flash sale. Not sure how I feel about that. I mean maybe that rollers game... Not sure. :D

Edit: Like 66 items in the sale and I own like 46 of them. Nutty.

Damn, when I heard indie flash sale, was hoping for Don't Starve on Vita, or Nidhogg.

How was Unfinished Swan? I have no idea what it is. Should I buy it?

Anyone want to sell me on Rollers of the Realm?
Rollers of the Realm is, as you probably already know, a pinball game meets an RPG. Your two main flippers have HP bars, and will break if they are attacked enough, becoming shorter as time goes on. Each character/ball has their own attributes; the knight is a larger ball that is slower but does good damage, the thief is smaller and faster and can summon her dog to help her out (multiball), that sort of thing. The story is pretty standard RPG fare, but the gameplay is what makes it really fun. It can get surprisingly challenging, especially when you want to figure out how to both defeat your enemies and get the treasures hidden around a specific level. Personally, I love it, and especially since it's on sale, I highly recommend it.

All these sales lately have been murdering my 16gb card lately. Just uninstalled Modnation racers/ FFX-2/Ragnarok Odyssey Ace to make room for everything and i'm already about to hit full.
In the past month i've added:
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy 8/9
Dissidia 012
Littlebigplanet vita
Wipeout 2048+Fury/HD

Definitely know i'll be adding more games if these sales are consistently this good,
I think i'm finally going to have to bite the bullet and import a 64gb memory card though i'm extremely hesitant due to this being my first import and the supposed failure rates with them. Does anybody know of a good importing site? I hear superufo is supposedly good but i'm wondering if there's any others

lol Sony did a number on my digital wallet with this promo, I'm down to 4p.

Both Senran Kagura games, since they're on sale in the EU store. Also bought the Gessen dlc.
Driveclub season pass
Atelier Ayesha Plus
Muramasa Rebirth dlc
ToHR swimsuit bundle
PDF2nd modules

Fantastic. If you like things like Journey and Flow you'll love it. Simple but evocative picture book style story with some hidden things to find, changing gameplay to suit the story as it goes, looks absolutely amazing on PS4 and looks fine on Vita as well. Superb art style. Not a ton of immediate replay value, but some okay trophies and easily worth the sale price.

I recommend anyone with the slightest interest in Unfinished Swan to get it.

Same. I consider it the sign of a good sale and/or a sale with lots of older content.
