Not really a Lucina player, but decided to also (though I've been waffling on it since it was first announced) to preorder the figma to go with my (future) Amiibo purchase.
Well of course he's only for store pickup nowhere near me.
Do Samus, Pikachu, or Kirby have any kind of rarity?
Europeans are so Amiispoiled
And I don't understand why!! Compared to Japan and the US, isn't the EU their least biggest market by far? I moved here from Canada a few years back. Made a few gamer friends and no one owned a NES and evreryone had a Mega Drive instead of a SNES. Sounds like it wasn't until Pokemon and N64 that things kicked off.
And yet, Bayonett First Print, a load of collectibles with Majora's Mask, abundance of amiibo, regular-size New 3DS...
Any theories?
Honestly My thoughts are same amount of stock just alot less demand there. And I don't understand why!! Compared to Japan and the US, isn't the EU their least biggest market by far? The smaller market is working to their advantage? Smaller target demos means you can produce a lot less to meet demand, and Nintendo apparently loves producing less.

I'm currently drunk and have only skimmed this thread the past couple of days... but are all y'all telling me that I might be able to find some wave 3 glory tomrrow at TRU
?
They sells both local stuffs and import stuffs. Most of import stuffs are japanese one. Sometimes, It's very easy to find import games than official one like call of duty series.Brian★;148897403 said:they sell amiibos in Korea? Or is it an import game store?
In the U.S., Pikachu and Kirby have been common since the beginning. Samus used to be uncommon, but now she's common since restocks.
In Spain, though, Kirby is rare as fuck, as a GAFfer or two have reported in this thread. I don't understand it, but it's true, I guess?
I have red hair -- I'll cash in on all of that genetic luck tomorrow when I find Toon Link and Sheik (metaphorically) hand-in-hand on the rack, waiting for a GAFfer to give them a loving home.Bowser and Toon Link only. Sheik if you are really damn lucky.
Off chance that there's any northeastern PA folks here, the Toys R Us on Kidder St in Wilkes-Barre is LOADED with Bowsers and Toon Links right now. Only saw 3 Bowsers on the shelf and no Toon Links, but when I went to the electronics counter to ask I saw a shopping cart practically overflowing with them and was handed one out of it. The employee said that was all of the wave they saw so far, but they were supposedly getting a shipment tonight... if the snow lets up I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning.
Also guys i have a feeling best buy is going to cancel a shit ton of metaknights. They guessed for the majoras mask they prob guessed for metaknight. He was up for two months. No way they fulfill all of them
Wal Mart just had Little Mac available, it was a blink and miss it deal, damn.
I don´t need it, but a friend just decided he wanted one, lol. I remember telling him to take one of my extra ones on release, but noooo, he said they are just toys. Who is laughing now?
If anyone needed proof of NOAs incompetence all they need is to read this thread and the mass Zelda LE N3DSXL or whatever they are calling it. I feel we have been getting hosed by NOA pretty bad with the Amiibos but almost all people that preordered that 3DS from Best Buy just got theirs cancelled. Now they have to turn to the scalpers on eBay or find one in store which seems implausible. They are discussing if it is BB's fault or NOA. my guess is NOA since they have not been handling inventory in a professional way. I really wonder if this is part of the Japanese business culture with just in time inventory and lean business practices to avoid overstock. The only thing that makes sense to me is the same argument others have made regarding poor sales of the Wii U and fear that sales of the new product will be comparable. Now when I say this I don't think it is a good reason but there really isn't many logical options. 3DS sells extremely well and Zelda items sell great as well So you would assume this item would sell great. Yeah it is LE but that doesn't mean they can produce a large number and the LE can apply to the period it was offered and not the number produced. If I were a stockholder I would be really concerned about Nintendo. Two very negative facts have become evident from a business perspective: 1) Nintendo is leaving money on the table by under producing popular merchandise (both the new 3DS and Amiibos) and 2) loyal customers are becoming increasingly upset due to lack of inventory and lack of information. The scalpers are the only winners in this situation. New leadership and a revised business plan are desperately needed both at NOA and Nintendo HQ.
Sorry for the long business rant but I may write up a detailed summary of my views of the situation and use it as my thesis for my International Business Capstone course this semester.
Also I passed on going to Toys R Us to check on Wave 3 because I have them all preordered from BB. I was concerned for Wave 2 as well but I did get them eventually (though Pit was delayed for a bit). This lack of consumer confidence is really bad for Nintendo. They were reported to have changed their business policy to target "whales" (loyal big spenders) but that loyalty may be in jeopardy with many of us.
Thanks for listening if you got through it. Good night Amiibros and Amiigals.
Welp decided to sell my pit rosalina and lucario to my friends little sister for 40bucks. Feels good not to be a scalper and kids need them more
No doubt, N_Drake. Nintendo was still (maybe inexplicably so) my favorite company up until the past few months... but the amiibo kerfuffle, Majora's Mask Limited Edition shortage (seriously NoA, fuck you, I've been a diehard fan of that game since the year it came out and I can't get a ten dollar figure from the remake decade and a half later because of your blubbering incompetence?), and the lack of regular New 3DS (the only version I was interested in) makes me retroactively happy for all of the pain they suffered with the Wii U. I obviously know NOA had nothing to do with the Wii U's abysmal launch at first (other than naming for the Western market and marketing -- which are actually pretty big, so I don't even know what the fuck i'm talking about right now), but I need something to focus my anger on.
As a fan of Reggie from 2004-2014, even through all of the rough patches, I'm officially at the point where I want him back at pizza hut. The diehard fans are the only ones keeping Nintendo afloat through their current ghastly console cycle, and one of their biggest market of supporters is consistently getting pissed on. In my current drunken state, I actually find it infuriating. Nintendo was so stuck up their own clogged rectum that they were solely sustained by the diehards for... what... almost every period after the SNES excluding last gen?
You're goddam lucky Splatoon looks so crack-like Nintendo, I tell ya what...
[it's time for me to stop posting and sleep it off. deep breaths...]
Does anyone own the hyrule historia book? How do you like it? Would it be a good coffee table book?
Yes and yes I love it. NowbI just need a Majora's mask le with that statue to sit in top of it...Does anyone own the hyrule historia book? How do you like it? Would it be a good coffee table book?

It's pretty darn good and super cheap (sub-$20 at times on Amazon). I got the LE version with the gold pages and special leather cover, so I might be a bit biased.
The cancellations from Best Buy was BestBuys decision also the LE for the game is more limted than the console by a good margin if gamestop preorder totals are to be bekieved and the console is available in far more stores. Bestbuy only cancelled orders where people had multiple in attempt to detur scalping in general. Now in saying that Nintendo VASTLY UNDERESTIMATED amiibo demand BUT WITH ALL RESPECT for Nintendo they had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE they would sell as well as they are and to sell out is A WONDERFUL THING in there state. The demand is simply greatly out pacing their ability and alloted cashflow to produce these as well we all know the port strikes are still playing some role in their getting from dock to us...
Now also they specifically said some of these will be limited. And many of them without upcoming games will be discontinued. But nobody could've predicted that people without even a Nintendo console currently would buy these things either. Also what do you expect Nintendo to do about scalpers? Its the stores job to fight those.
Its absolutely irresponsible IMO for a company to sell an entire alloted total to a single customer. It discourages new customers. It inhibits future sales and creates negative feedback. So if you going to blame someone blame the stores too don't just blame Nintendo its a fault all the way around the table. With little to no proper excuse that could be made from any party involved.
Also blame the market for US not getting the regular new 3ds its the fact they sold so much more of the XL. If more people bought the non xl we probably would see it.
When you consider them releasing figures like Little Mac or Wii Fit Trainer, those are basically characters that we wouldn't see used significantly in a long time or never at all. In that case, there's no reason to keep them on store shelves for that long, and even if such a game did pop along later they could either do a restock or make a new figure for that character when that game came to. Add in the cards as an easy out for them should functionality be important, but they don't want to reprint characters, and you have a perfect shit storm.
It's one thing if they don't want them to hang around, but it's absurd how fast these ones have disappeared. I saw Villager and WFT all of once before they vanished in the US. Never laid eyes on a Marth til I got mine from France this month. It's the same with Pit, Falcon and Mac- I sure as hell have been looking, several times a week, and nothing. Didn't care for Falcon and I got a Pit on the way from GS assuming they don't cancel it, but Mac's still a no-go and even his international prices are ballooning. Shouldn't they take it as a sign that if people are successfully scalping the figures at triple and quadruple retail price, the "niche" they thought they were dealing with was a gross miscalculation?
Eh, no point in trying to rationalize it. They screwed everything up and will continue to screw everything up. Still looking for that Wii U GC adapter, too. If this company functioned like anyone had a clue, NCL would be furious with how NoA when they see the fan response to, well, almost everything in the last year, really. But in order to get NCL's attention you'll probably need to have someone fly over from Japan and look in our retail stores, sort of how StreetPass was never a problem in the US until someone from Nintendo came stateside and was shocked.
As a lifelong fan you never wanna say bad stuff about a company, but they sure as hell aren't treating their fans like a priority lately and it just plain sucks.
Quick pic of the crew.

Bowser has become my favorite amiibo, so fierce.

Ooh! Leather cover edition!? Pics anywhere?
I know you've been really pining over that skull kid statue. If i see any extra when I pick up mine I'll grab it for you!
Fair points on some of those. I am not saying NOA can do anything about scalpers I was just pointing out that it is sad due to the way they are handling things they are the only ones happy. the consumer isn't happy, retailers would like to make the profit on items where they have empty pegs and shelf space, and Nintendo isn't happy because they could be making so much more money and are losing customer satisfaction. Also they are cancelling almost all the preorders on that 3ds. Have you read the thread? Most only ordered one and some used gift cards and reward zone credits which now they have to get refunded. That's a pain in the ass I had that happen on a gift card it isn't a quick process and must be mailed to you. I respect your opinion but I don't blame the market or retailers anywhere close to the amount I blame them. Hell I have spoken the GS and BB managers and they can't get an answer out of their Nintendo Reps so what chance do we have in getting solid info. Not arguing with you just discussing. I know sometime tone can get lost in text. Nothing but love Amiibro
Idk why but scrolling through fast that bowser scared the bejeesus outta me :0
Nintendo's approach just gets messy.
Amiibos:
You would think that they learned from Wave 1 the popularity. Why not replenish the stocks more often? How do they not see that the rares are some of the more popular characters among fans? Everything is a mess and I do feel bad for reps and retailers that don't know WHAT is going on. It's not a "new market" anymore since they already can get their stats. Why no more direct release dates? Wave 1 went good for the most part.
Limited Edition games:
I remember with Wind Waker HD's LE was able to be pre-ordered at GS for at LEAST one day. We don't have that any more.
Limited Edition consoles:
I remember when you can go into stores and buy limited Zelda-themed DS and 3DS bundles... Anyone remember those days?
*sigh* I just don't get it... They should hire me to put a plan in order and I could definitely figure out a way that would be win-win on both sides.
That is real nice. Great photos as wellGot this display stand today for my Amiibos. I love how it looks.
Pretty sure both demand and scalper count is higher now than ever... Its not Zelda as a series ever lost many fans and its only made new ones as the years went on. Pretty Nintendo hasnt figured out that part though...
