THANK YOU. I cried like a baby in Theory of Everything and my girlfriend had no fucking idea what the big deal was. It went straight for the nerd feels.

I cried my eyes out when i watched Interstellar.

I went with two female friends. They didn't shed a tear. The monsters ...

But i don't care, i cried like a fucking baby and it felt good.

I teared up during a moment in Interstellar (the video recording scenes), it's been awhile since I've bawled while watching a movie though.

Yes ! That's when i lost it and started sobbing lol

I hadn't experienced anything like this since the day i watched The green Mile when i was 10 years old.

do you really want to cry your eyes out

watch this

(it's anime, and subtitled) (there's sound, but it might not play if you've got the webm plugin installed)

(may not affect people who hate dogs, do not watch with a weak heart or a too strong heart)

But on topic, crying is normal. Although it varies from person to person to what can make them cry. I know I'm weak to sad stories about pets... it hurts more not to cry sometimes. (Seriously, forcing myself not to cry when I really feel like I need to hurts.)

I also need to watch more movies, since I don't think I've watched most mentioned so far.

I saw Theory of Everything, cried my eyes out. Not necessarily a fantastic movie, but the core about Stephen and Jane was so gut-punchingly earnest that tears were flowing during several scenes.

As the tears were flowing, I thought "I want my moment in time". During the span of like 30 seconds I went through a roller-coaster of all possible emotions. Sadness, despair, loneliness, optimism, happiness, anxiety, fear.

It felt good, like baring my soul to myself.

Is this normal?

You know they're divorced, right?

What the hell is this lol the ending was weird.

Got my blu of Man On Fire from Netflix today. It's my favorite film.

Ending always gets me

Ah man the first time I saw that movie I was a broken mess at the end of it. So good though.

I cried with laughter watching Bad NFL Lip Readings 2015. Other than that, last time I cried was when I was born.

Theory of everything and The Imitation Game, two really good films that came out this year or last year. Cumberwatch was just fantastic as Turing.

You should check out "Crying Out Love in the Centre of the World". This is the only movie that has ever had me on the verge of crying. Only one tear escaped, so I don't consider that to be crying, but dammit I was so CLOSE!

OP should watch Grave if the Fireflies.
That movie destroyed me.

That is a great movie, but I will never watch it again. It's just too sad.

I could feel them welling up when I watched The Imitation Game. I remembered I was a man though, and reeled them back in.

Me and a friend are going to see it next weekend when it opens. I don't want to show anyone in the theatre i have feelings. What do i do?
First, we need to establish whether you're a computer or a human if you can't express feelings. Try passing the Turing Test before you head out to the cinema.

I cry at anything. Particularly weak to father-son relationships (being now both a father and a son), robots, and inanimate objects brought to life (toy story, Winnie the pooh, Calvin and Hobbes etc). I don't think I can ever watch Kramer Vs Kramer or Grave of the Fireflies again.

Is a real pain when I take my kids to the cinema and I'm welling up just because stupid baymax

Last time I cried watching a film was during The Fault In Our Stars. I never expected myself to cry during that film but damn, it struck a chord with me. So, so sad. I really want to watch Interstellar and Theory of Everything. I have no hope of watching them while remaining dry-eyed the entire time.

I pretty much cry a LOT with movies , anything too happy or too sad just destroys me
Latest i can remember is the ending of Pride and The Fault in Our Stars wich pretty much had me and a friend crawling out of the theatre trying to go unnoticed
Also went through a little X Factor US marathon the last week and during the audition i cried at least once per episode lol

Kinda weird actually, i noticed that i'm way more emotional when it comes to stuff that actually doesn't have anything to do with my life :/

I thought the early scenes were far more powerful than the ending, especially the game between Stephen and Jane after she learns he is sick. Eddie Redmayne killed it.

Is it weird that I can't seem to get emotional from media with live actors but certain animated films and scenes gets me choked up every time?

Ghost in a Shell: Stand alone complex Tachikoma sacrifice gets me misty no matter how many times I watch it.

And The Movie Grave of the Fireflies destroys me.

A bit. Maybe you just don't care for real humans or distance yourself but can invest more easily into made up things.

In the last 2 weeks, I cried during:

Interstellar
Master Chef Junior
The "First Contact" Record

Currygan

perhaps, but it's the same for me. You know these mandatory sad scenes in Disney movies, like Megara's death in Hercules, Dumbo's mother cradling him, Mufasa's fate etc, they utterly destroy me. Like, rain of tears man. It's a killer combination of super sad music and imagery, I guess

Crying during movies is a pretty common occurrence for me, animated or not. Toy Story (all of em, but 3 destroys me), the Lego movie, even Big Hero 6 got me teary eyed.

I'm watching Theory of Everything in a week or so, so thanks for the heads up, OP.

I watched Toy Story 3 finally for the first time a few weeks ago. Teared up before the ending and then I just let it all out for like 10 minutes. Nothing to be ashamed of.
