'I'm Not Crying'

Bleh. I really need to see that movie :\ There're a whole slew of sad nerd movies I haven't seen yet, but oh man. That one is gonna fuck me up, I just know it. The last one that got me in the theater was Interstellar, though. Crying during movies is pretty normal for me, hehhh :\

However, a friend of mine sent me a link to this one from Blade Runner the other evening, and ugh. A lot of personal things and introspective thoughts all came bubbling up and I was just utterly wrecked. More than normal. Sometimes you see something you've seen before, but with a new perspective and everything just gets too real too fast :(

I felt this way while watching MOS and TDKR. But GAF already knew that.

I think the line "look what we created hit me hard"

So I know what you mean.

hachi fucking wrecked me. And I knew the story it was based on ahead of time. Just fucking bawling. I don't know how anyone with an affinity for dogs at all could not during this movie.

Also that interstellar scene hit pretty hard.

What's the movie that came out a few summers ago where the guy gets shot on new years eve on the train and leaves behind a daughter? It was based on a true story. I think the police shot him and it had racial implications.

(sorry, I'm drawing a blank on the title).

My friend cried at the end and I fought sooooo hard to hold back the tears.... barely.

I'm quite a sensitive man and movies can get me to cry with ease. Someone mentioned Grave of the Fireflies, never again will I watch that movie, probably the most depressing and saddest film I've ever viewed. Certain movies out there say/do certain things that remind me of myself or issues I've gone through and it pulls hard.

I think it's absolutely normal and healthy too. I can't imagine how people who don't cry handle it. One day something will happen and years worth of tears will roll down their faces, I just hope it's not something serious that causes it.

One of the drawbacks of being a guy is you can't just easily cry. Crying is so therapeutic and you usually feel a lot better afterwards. It's one of the main things transgender guys miss when transitioning from a female.

Eh, of all the Best Picture nominees (besides Sniper; haven't seen), Theory probably got the least emotional reaction out of me. Got teary-eyed at Selma and Boyhood, and wouldn't blame anyone who got teary-eyed at Budapest or Imitation Game.

The ending of The Pianist makes cry every time. Few movies do though (Toy Story 3, the end of Band of Brothers)

I fell asleep during this movie.

I also thought Jane was a heartless bitch. He warned you maaaan and you said lets do it anyway!

I watched Theory of Everything and did not have that reaction...I suppose its because they portrayed Stephen Hawking as the witty man that he is. I'm pretty surprised its got as many nominations it got for the portrayal of Jane Hawking, I don't even think she did that great of a job IMO

I get teary eyed at the ending of FOTR ("I made a promise Mr. Frodo") and ROTK ("The last pages are for you, Sam") and more recently at Before Sunset (the scene in the taxi).

Go watch the episode with the dog of Derek. Season 2.
The trailer for theory of everything almost made me cry. His story is just so depressing.
