These people just love feeling like they're so smart and have found a hot stock. People do pay their prices and companies do create the environments for scalpers to thrive too.

Yeah, I cannot be mad when Nintendo encourages it. If the shortage is really due to the West Coast strike, they should switch to airmail.

Edit: Target says they are getting Rosalina on 2/1. So maybe she will be in-store as well.

I got Toon Link a couple of days ago and he looks really nice. Even though Samus turned out pretty well the simpler, more cartoon-ish designs definitely seem better on average which is no surprise. I kind of wish Toon Link's stance was inverted compared to Link's because they look a little weird doing the same pose (which isn't even a good pose, since they look down at the ground) but overall I'm happy. Up to Link, Samus, Pikcahu and Toon Link now.

I think I'm going to buy Ness next, maybe Charizard too. I'm really excited for the Ness figure, but I'm worried because he's already displaying as sold out on the Nintendo UK website....I didn't even know they put him up for preorder.

Also a little worried that I've missed out on Villager for good...

I specifically wanted the EU/UK packaging, and I can't find Rosalina anywhere online or in store here unfortunately :/

eh its not getting that much better, yea people are selling them in bunches, but prices of certain amiibos are rising, like little macs for example, and he will continue to rise the more time passes. ikes and shulks are probably gonna be worth a lot soon as well when they release

Yes Little Mac is absolutely another culprit that fetches higher prices, but I disagree a bit. I have been watching eBay like a hawk for weeks and the profit margins are dropping overall. It's in a weird phase right now, you will see Falcons/Pits/Foxes end without any bids with starting prices under $20, but see one right behind it with multiple bids with no real seller difference. I do only look at NA only however.

This is interesting and part of the reason why I haven't really committed in saying I'll help everyone else out... I figured that there's a lot of people in here that are full of shit. There are absolutely people who are 100% awesome too. I'm still trying to figure out who's who in some cases!

There are indeed many good people on here, just focus on them as they really do make the community what it is.

Rosalina's rarer than Villager imo, who you can purchase at RRP on .de right now.

She's the only Wave 3A amiibo unavailable across all EU Amazons and UK online retailers. And from pics German gaffers have posted of shops, she appears to have a significantly smaller stock count than other Wave 3A amiibos.

They're due to be in on Friday to sell on Sunday the 1st. If you get there early. I don't think Rosealina will be too hard to snag unless the scalpers are extra ruthless.

The thing I really don't get about scalpers is ...like....is it really the easiest way to make a couple extra bucks?

Driving around, searching, showing up to every store at opening, buying them all up...it's a lot of work. You buy a bunch of $13 amiibos, and sell them for what, $30? $40? It's money yeah, but it's not that much money. You'd think people with that much time and energy on their hands could figure out a better get rich quick scheme than this. Or actually do something productive that helps people. Get an actual second job or something.

Scalping is fun. Simple as that. You get a rush knowing that you played the market right and can make a few bucks.

Second jobs are usually boring or require commitment. Driving to a store and hoping you're first is exciting.

Anyone have experience with TRU pre-orders on these? A friend and I pre-ordered the entirety of wave 3 and when he went to pick up bowser and toon link yesterday they had nothing set back for us and said our pre orders were not in the system. We have the receipt so this is obviously BS.

So I made a chart of the current US release dates of wave 3 amiibos at various retailers. Tell me if you spot any errors. Also, does anyone know the rest of the release dates for Best Buy? I could have sworn at least Meta Knight had a date going around, but he's listed as 12/31/2015 on bestbuy.com like the rest of them.

That's the ONLY Amiibo I've NEVER seen in stores.

The only preorder I made that was cancelled, too, although I've not preordered a lot of Amiibos (but I expected a problem with Rosalina). I should receive one, fingers crossed, but I probably got the last one from an online shop.

At this time, it's probably the second most difficult Amiibo to find behind Little Mac (all others are available online somewhere for less than 20€)

Hope we wont get a lot of duplicate characters in future series.

I'm interested in if there's any quality differences. The Super Mario series looks like they were designed to be a toy first. Smash Bros. series Mario and Luigi look really good though. Bowser was okay. Honestly wasn't impressed with him.

I'm in this situation too. I haven't been able to preorder him anywhere. I wish I had preordered now but I thought I'd be fine to go into stores and pick them up on release day.

The non smash lines could make better figures since they aren't tied to designs that require stands or have link looking at the ground. The smash Luigi has a stupid pose too.

This is true. It's also the reason why I've preordered classic Luigi as opposed to Smash Luigi since he looks silly. He doesn't act like that in other games outside of Smash I've always found it offputting.
