Witcher 3 lead programmer Balazs Torok on DX12:
On burly hardware, obviously.Well you have the addition of all the Nvidia, PC exclusive effects too

Let's be realistic, it's CDProjekt so the PC version will probably be much greater than it's console counterparts
Witcher 3 on PC ultra settings adds better tessellation, more physics, more post-processing and of course more realistic fur.
This is all too common unfortunately, for reasons explained here.
Xbox One's deficiency means developers are spending less time unlocking PS4's potential than they are bringing the former up to an acceptable speed. The evidence is everywhere.
Expected. Although I am sure texture are exactly the same, it's just lack of higher resolution itself that makes them more blurry on Xbox One.
I'm not sure it's better looking then Ryse.
On burly hardware, obviously.
A dev also mentioned on Eurogamer that tessellation and better post-processing will be on PC as part of the ultra specs.

I dont have examples right now. One was from sebbbi [dev of Trials HD], second one was in one of the Tiago Souse'a tech presentation. There is tons of stuff that devs cant do right now, because APIs are somehow limiting them.
The advanced usage of features like Partially Resident Texture is another example i can think of right now.
Lemme predict the DF analysis.
"While the PS4 version boasts a resolution advantage of 633k more pixels onscreen with its 1080p resolution vs. 900p on the Xbox One, our analysis shows that framerates drop to 29fps at times on the inventory screen where on the Xbox One they remain at a steady 30fps. In summation, if you are looking for a higher resolution go with the PS4 version. If framerate stability is important to you, the Xbox One version is what you want. Either way, you can't go wrong with either version of this game."

An almost locked 30fps. A ridiculous feat given the hardware imo.

I'll go with 1440p instead.
Lol PC version it is then. I may need a new card though.
Awesome contribution (and that goes for everyone who comes into this PS4/XBO thread only to drive-by post about how much better the game will look and run on their PCs - we get it, PCs are powerful and awesome and consoles are weak and pathetic).
Glad to hear they got it to 1080p on the PS4. Was a bit worried there for a while. 1080p is important to me not just because it's a higher number, but because I (like most) have a 1080p TV, and native res with no upscaling simply looks so much cleaner. I'm planning on playing this game for many hours, so I'd like what's on my screen all that time to look as crisp as possible.
Hopefully they can make the framerate stable as well. And please, no tearing. Nothing ruins image quality (and immersion, since you're instantly reminded that you're looking at something rendered by a computer rather than something real) like screen tearing.

Sure. I'd rather 1080p at medium settings than 720p at high-ish settings, though.Well if it's anything like the gap with dragon age I Going from ps4 to high end pc Then people have the right to talk up the pc version. It was a big difference. There is alot more to graphics than just resolution.
They should have although I wouldn't be surprised if they give more focus to XB1 from this point forward. If they're happy with PS4 1080p and feel 30fps is mostly solid then given their marketing deal with MS and clear desire to keep trying to improve the 900p I suspect they'll put majority of effort XB1's way now in the final push when it comes to consoles.Haven't they got some more time to optimise all version before release?

Its not that simple.1080p, 720p. I don't care either way if the framerate is shitty.
I will play it on PC but I don't get how resolution can be more important than a stable framerate.

But we already knew the PC version will look better if you have the machine for it. We always know that. It's nothing new, it's not unexpected. But still people feel the need to come into every thread like this and tell us again and again, as if to make sure we don't forget how inferior our gaming hardware of choice really is.
If you were really choosing between one and the other, and this information made you decide that the PC version is a better choice for you, that's fine. I have no problem with that. It's the fast drive-by posts that only exist to demonstrate the PC's superiority that annoy me.

I still dont know whats the reason of not being 1080p of the X1 too
There's games that runs 1080p on the X1 which means its capable
Anyways im getting both versions to support my beloved CPR
Only the textures for the PS4 are stated to be slightly lower than the PC version of high, we don't know anything about the other graphic settings yet.
