Anyone else going back to 30fps on console?

Now that Ive joined the masterrace even 60 feels nasty. I only make exceptions for Nintendo exclusives.

Some of the 60fps modes this gen have had average to bad image quality, but for me it was still a no-brainer. The pro has done a good job to mitigate the issue as far as I'm concerned and with it even some games in their (up to) 120fps modes have had decent image quality which one wouldn't have originally expected from a console. Personally, I'm pretty happy that the vast majority of devs have gotten the message and now provide 60+fps, even with some concessions.

Having said all that, I'm still not averse to the occasional 30 fps-only game, be it because it's a BC title or a smaller and technically challenged developer struggling. It's still been my favourite console generation so far and one I could have probably gone without a good PC with no real issues.

Yes they dropped lumen, but as always the choice for perfomance mode is for the fluidity of the game and not still shots, and in movement is definitely the best choice imho.

I remember HW legacy the difference was quite big from balance to perfomance on the base ps5 on still shots , but with the game running ? It was not even a choice, perfomance mode all the way.

Yeah without lumen the game just looks ugly imo. I agree that if I had it I'd still make that choice, but I'm not going to buy a game so compromised. Especially when the main appeal for me would be the graphics anyway.

I personally prefer better IQ to 60 fps.

The usual console 30fps we called rock solid (no frame pacing, low latency, no tearing bc of sync) is good enough for most genres, aside 1vs1 fighting games or some sports or competitive online shooter.
