Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

Just want to share my opened collection thus far. I have an import Rosalina coming in soon but I'm afraid the snow may have delayed it. I'm a little worry for my little Mac though that I got from a third party seller from Amazon. Almost a whole month since I paid for it and there no tracking info either. All I have is an estimated arrival date which is sometimes this week to February 18.
Considering the Smash amiibo seem to be selling well, I have to wonder how the Super Mario amiibo line will fare especially the first wave is mostly characters that have one from the Smash line. I can see Toad being rare for the simple fact that he didn't have one in Smash.

Been away at magfest for a few days so haven't been able to check on the release status of the new amibos, so any word on when they can be preordered yet? Still doesn't look like any of the next phase of Smash ones or Mario Party ones are up on amazon.
Speaking of Magfest, I was hoping I would be able to pick up some of the rare ones there for a decent price, but nope. The one vendor that was selling them had them at like $40 and was even selling the common ones for $20.

Hey Amiibros. I haven't been posting as much since there really hasn't been anything going on. I do lurk just to make sure I am not missing anything. I have all of Wave 3 pre-ordered so I haven't been going out of my way to check local stock unless I happen to be in a store. Stopped by TRU so here is the obligatory whats in my hood pic (Charleston, SC).
The empty pegs are for Shiek, Bowser, Toon Link, and Lucario. I am not sure if they are sold or just never put them out. Probably cleaned out by scalpers if I had to guess. There were an absolute shit ton of Samus, 2 to 3 pegs across and top to bottom. I am guessing 30 plus. The rest of the norms were there minus Fox. There were Diddys but no rares or uncommons.
Also stopped by Walmart. Didn't take a pic because it looks exactly like the one I took and posted a month ago ha. It is so sad. Never saw a Wave 2.
I don't think Lucario is going to be uncommon but if he is I will have some extra I think and will update if I can send them out. I had 2 online orders that were cancelled and then I reordered them when they became available. Since they are incompetent I also grabbed 2 in-store cards and I received the email yesterday that they would be available on the 31st. During the great 2014 cancellation debacle i got nervous and grabbed one of their eBay listings as well. So in theory I could have 5 of these stupid things coming at me due to TRU's incompetence and my spazzing out tendency.
That being said it seems others are in the same boat and I am sure they will have in-store extras given the pegs and all.
I might be interested in one of those as long as you sell it to me at retail price. I have a Lucario on order, but I like to keep all my amiibos in their packaging. Not confident in TRU shipping.
Not a problem, and was certainly not directed at any single individual.
I just know there will be a deluge of pics coming up and it would be great if more and more people took it upon themselves to be mindful. <3
I'm fully expecting Nintendo to make more of the older amiibos as time passes. Yes, I am being that positive about it.

Well, if they're towing the company line, Lucario was never on those pegs. Everything I've seen and heard is that he's street dated for 1/30 and no stores are selling him before then. yeah i will post if it comes through. I did first come first serve with a couple extra pits and falcons a couple weeks ago. I was able to do 25 shipped priority mail with tracking in a new box from walmart.That takes care of the TRU 1 dollar extra tax but i think i am getting hosed on the ebay shipping fee. but like i said i will announce it if i can. not making any promises yet and hopefully everyone can get their own in store so there is no shipping premium. i would much rather return them to TRU and get a refund then you all not find them in person. lets all keep our fingers crossed.

Waiting for Wave 2 reprints doesn't make you delusional, it just makes you a gambler. There's a chance it'll happen, but it's no sure thing.

Very nice! Although, yes, you'll soon run out of room with that. I'm not sure how many I'll wind up collecting, so waiting to purchase a shelf til then.

I paid $40 for my brand new Little Mac and don't regret it at all. The way I see it, I don't want very many of the remaining Amiibos so I don't mind spending 2-3x on one I really want. It's also worth the reduced stress trying to hunt for one. I know it encourages the scalpers but some of us are just too busy to make a hobby of Amiibo-hunting.
Fuck it, I'm leaving BK now to get them.

Just in case anyone wanted my .02 on this I can also chime in. I took a trip to NYC a few months back and spoke to a associate at the NWS and they will in fact be carrying the retailer exclusives in the store. The NWS has actually always done this with just about everything, GameStop (etc) limited edition consoles and the like have always been stocked by them as far as I have always seen. Just call ahead first.

Well I've found people in the past that have used pictures I've taken for their own ebay auctions. Don't want to have that happen again.

I don't think it matters much if people use your own pictures. Mine were "stolen" numerous times for eBay listings back when I sold Pokemon TCG all the time. Always struck me as odd though, considering the card received wouldn't be the EXACT one pictured.

Oh I tried, I run around for a while looking for the guy ready to beat the crap out of him, but there are so many places around here to hide, I was not able to find the fucker =(.
Oh well, at least he just took the phone, my 3DS and my wallet are safe, but I´m still fucking angry. And no one was hurt, so that is fine too.
