I am starting to watch this show but God that b and c tier acting. So bad especially compared to other TV shows. Mediocre show at the half point of season 1 for me.

For starters you should know exactly what to expect when you watch a show on The CW.

Maybe its been asked and answered or maybe its just me going deaf but what the hell is Laurel saying near the end when the ganster on the ground near the car asks her ''who are you''...? I rewinded a few times and still dont get the first part...something about her Hairdresser...? lol...

something like "I'm the justice you can't run from"

While the show does get better at the halfway point of season 1 the acting itself doesn't improve.

Douchebag DJ is working with the league, he was planted to get close to Thea and spy on Malcolm.
Linky

Unless he's talking about other spoilers in which case I don't know.

The acting has always been lacking in Arrow. Unfortunately Stephen Amell isn't very good at it, but the writing is good enough to keep you entertained if you stick with it.

Shit was so full of ham, it almost made up for lack of junk in the trunk.

I called that
the moment he came into play
, it was rather blatant.
it was either
A: League of B: Slade's first son who dies but that is more of a Titan's thing

What were they?

These are the summaries for the next 3 episodes. Really excited for episode 12.

3x11
Midnight City

Arsenal and Diggle confront Laurel about trying to step into her sister’s shoes and warn her to stop before she gets herself killed. However, when Brick kidnaps the city’s Aldermen and threatens to kill them all unless the police evacuate The Glades, it’s all suits on deck. Meanwhile, Ray steps in to help Lance and the police force fight Brick, showing Felicity a new side of her boss. Malcom tells Thea that Ra’s al Ghul is after him and his family and they must leave town immediately.

3x12
Uprising

Still operating without Oliver and desperate to stop Brick, Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm’s offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy and Laurel point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm’s descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife

3x13
Canaries

Oliver is thrown by the changes within Team Arrow. He’s used to calling the shots but sees that the team has evolved in his absence and tensions quickly escalate in the lair. Oliver is furious that Laurel has been going out as the Black Canary and tells her to stop risking her life, but when Vertigo hits the streets again, Laurel goes against Oliver’s wishes and tracks down Vertigo who hits her with a full dose of the drug. Laurel’s biggest fears revolve around her sister Sara so the Vertigo causes her to hallucinate an epic fight between Canary and Black Canary. Meanwhile, Chase surprises Thea, and Roy warns Thea to stay away from Malcolm.

As great as Vinnie Jones is,
I dont see him as a treat enough to require team arrow, Black Canary AND Merlyn.

I think it's obvious that
Brick will turn out to be the man who murdered Merlyn's wife.
Probably but I was kinda expecting to see the team operating on their own and coming to terms with the new situation, having the Dark Archer as a team member takes the edge of any realistic treat.

I hope these episodes turn the Laurel Canary into a breakout character.A breakout character the CW can build a spin off show around. A spinoff that launches in the fall. Laurel deserves to her own superhero on her own program. Far, far away from Arrow.

And put Titans in this universe so Roy can go there.

Honestly I'd be okay with this. Not because I hate Laurel but because I think this show has become over saturated with characters. I kind of miss the simplicity of the initial episodes where it is just Oliver and Diggle. Now pretty much everyone important in Oliver's life knows he is the Arrow and it is kind of ridiculous. Plus after the super human Mirakuru baddies it just feels like none of the threats are credible enough to warrant multiple costumed vigilantes.

Then again, I'm also the kind of comic reader who hates pretty much every Batman story where he has the bat family involved.

My guess is that
Diggle will ultimately refuse Merlyn's help, and the team will try to take on Brick on their own. They'll fail until Merlyn shows up anyway.

Looking forward to the inevitable Laurel/Helena/Felicity Birds of Prey episode.

I feel like Amell doesn't get enough credit. Dude's definitely got the range; compare Island Ollie to Modern Ollie. They're practically different people. It's just that Modern Ollie is a stoic, kinda stiff dude.

yeah i am also of the belief that Amell is being a little understated

With weekly crossover episodes!

Looking forward to the inevitable Laurel/Helena/Felicity Birds of Prey episode.

I got it! Brick
breaks Felicity's spine
and out comes Oracle!

Vision of Arrow without Laurel is enticing, but she's not strong enough character to have her own show and most of all there are so many much more exciting DC characters that deserv their own show a lot more. Especially since even if Laurel show would somehow work, it would still be Arrow, version B

New episode today:
Season 3: episode 11 "Midnight City"

Roy and Diggle try to stop Laurel for following her sister's footsteps before she gets killed. However a new enemy, Brick, captures the city's alderman and will kill him if the police wont evacuate The Glades. Meanwhile ray tries to help Detective Lance. Malcolm tells Thea that their family is being hunted and tracked down by Ra's al Ghul and must leave town immediately.

Black Canary definitely deserves a show

Laurel? Ehhhh

Birds of Prey would work in general, but I can't see it with this Canary and this Huntress. I wonder if they some day introduce a mentally stable female character that doesn't get offed to motivate male characters.

Really liking the descriptions for the next several episodes. My issue with Laurel has always been when they've kept her in a holding pattern. It allowed the worst aspects of the character to come out. When she's actively doing something or pushing toward something I've liked her more. Her low point was really the "woe is me" part of the story where she blamed everyone for her problems, drinking, etc. Did the character story wise justify that kind of break down? Possibly. How it was handled was the problem. Once they started pushing past that though she was better. I don't fault the actress either. I think Katie Cassidy is actually decent from other things I've seen her in so it's really the writing for her on the show that has been an issue.

I also think creating and bringing in Sara was part of the problem. Perhaps the biggest problem. Like others I like the character but at the same time they introduced a character that took up valuable screen time and writing ability from one that already existed. Did Laurel need to become Black Canary sooner? No but considerably more time could have been spent on the character and giving her a better story. It's no surprise that now that Sara is gone and not even a recurring character that Laurel simply comes off better, even in the short amount of screen time she's gotten this season. She's a focus now. Even with her not telling her father about Sara. That's annoying but I don't have a problem with her like I did last season.

Maybe. But she was cooler character than Laurel. Did it create some problems? Sure. But I still wish they would fix it by killing Laurel and leaving Sara alive. I think the show would end up better for it.

Not sure if this was posted, synopsis for *next* week's ep:

S312:

Uprising

Still without Oliver, the team is forced to consider Malcolm's offer.

So, what do you think

Malcolm's offer will be? Team Malcolm incl. Thea?

No Laurel means that Sara gets saddled with Laurels brand of drama. You don't avoid it by killing the character. The show and network means it's getting that stuff no matter what.

But there's no Laurel drama this season. :)
oh..well..what's done is done. I just hope they make it work somehow. It will be a hard thing to pull off.
I mean..on one hand you need to have her be competent enough to cheer for eventually, but at the same time, her presence in the show needs to be scaled down heavily to the level of Roy's. There's already so many people on the team they risk squeezing Oliver out of the undpisputed lead role.
