Of course it matters. Even though some people can't tell the difference, it's on the back of their mind that that they are not the getting the full potential of the game unlike the other. For example, you are given an option to pick one of a twin sister to date. One is phenomenal in the sack and the other lays there like a rag doll. In turn the XBOX owner will be smacking their faces thinking what could have been if they picked the sex queen. IDK, maybe I'm wrong or I need to go finger-bang something. LOL.

For me personally, I can see the softness of 900p after an initial jump from a 1080p game, but I'll readjust after a short time. I can tell the difference, I just don't mind the difference.

There's more to it than 1080/900. I, for one, dont care if my console isn't getting the maximum out of a game. If its close, and isn't broken, I'm cool with it.

If you don't have the X1 and PS4 versions running right next to each other, for most games its a non-issue.

Well in this case, neither choice between PS4 and XBO is "the full potential". It's more like, you guys are arguing over the the Olsen Twins and they are kind of fugly and they're both drunks and can't maintain 30fps. While your kicking game to these skanks, Scarlett Johansson (PC) is sitting at the next table over being fine as fuck.

That addressed the sharpening filter, not the black crush.
At the end of the day, I'm probably going to wait for DF to see just how big the differences are. The PC version will obviously be superior, but I don't know how well my current rig will run it (maybe only High at 30fps? probably better, but I don't know for sure), but my comfy couch calls to me for long games like this, and I don't yet have a good streaming solution to run PC games downstairs.
As for the console wars, I only own one of them, so I could give a shit what the other one performs like, there's no "choice" in it if I go with console.

I dont get these types of comments. Everyone here would want both PS4/xbone to have native 1080P on all software as possible. Its fact xbone will have a harder time pulling it off so to some it would be a miracle (and great joy I suppose). It shouldnt be about "lol you guys got pnwd, TOLD YA!"
I dont think PS4/PC users die a little inside if xbone games manage to hit 1080P. I feel its the opposite and some users would rather use that as "ammo" for their funny comebacks i suppose, instead of being happy the dev team managed that.

Total cost would be around $1400 to $1500. Now mind you this is me quickly looking up costs, they could vary a bit (quick glances at the average on Newegg). As for their system I bet it was far above the recommended specs.
Taken from us at such a young age. It would have been a brilliant career.

Sure in forums like this. But massively touted and marketed as the best experience needs to be 1080p started this gen. I dont remember any of this last gen with 360 ps3. Only a few comparison vids that were useless on gametrailers.com.

Either way, this thread has been eye opening; much of these talking points should have been settled heading into 2015.
So I own both consoles and I'm getting the X1 version. The tiny difference in resolution to me is not enough to sway my interest in sharing stuff with my friends and acheivements. If I cared that much about resolution I wouldn't be primarily a console gamer.
That said I'm kinda stuck with a now sold out collectors edition for PS4, hoping some more X1 editions pop up.

If devs have a closed platform to work with and they want to have decent visuals, they wont be hitting 60FPS. Also this has been the case with 99% software on past consoles and this wont change unless Sony/MS releases a beefed up system that costs $500+. (you know that wont happen either)

i realize this, but i wish they would. its irritating how under powered these consoles are and how much they're are struggling to manage standards set on PC almost a decade ago, if not longer. i have an xbox one so i can game with friends and play the first party games i like that Microsoft makes, but the console itself is pitiful in terms of power. i would much rather pay $500 or $600 for a competent console thall have some longevity and power instead of these uber budgeted consoles we got from Sony and MS.
