Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

Just wanted to say since in out of town for the next month with no computer. Next OT I going to be nothing but a cut and paste. If anything huge pops up I'll have to borrow from sources and won't be able to make myself.

If you're really interested in FE cameos, I'd say it won't be such an issue. Marth is still available online in Europe in many places, especially in german online shops* (you just have to find one that ships to your country, but there's a couple of them at least), and several Gaffers can probably help you if you can't find a solution (just ring the bell ;) )

I was talking from a Nintendo point of view: I don't consider a huge issue if the average Codename Steam buyer has troubles to unlock a cameo character. And even considering this, they already talked about producing a couple more, and later producing cards that act like an Amiibo...

I've yet to cave for imports. I'm trying to hold off from paying more than 20 for a amiibo. Though it seems that if I order multiple from certain places they come out to less than that. I'll have to play around with it if i absolutely run out of options here.

Yep I ordered almost the entire wave 3 from europe and averaged about $17-18 I think per figure. In late December I ordered WFT Villager Marth Pit Mac and CF Diddy all together for about the same. So much better than to stress about it here. I ended up getting US versions anyways so I'm going to open my EU ones and I gave some away.

Also when you order a bunch, getting the fastest shipping is about 10 EUR more but split amongst your whole order that's only $1 or so extra per figure. My slower shipment was flagged for review so it took almost a month to get to me. My fastest shipping order came in about 3 days! To me in California that is

I've seen it for sneakers , consoles and now amiibos lol

Like I saw a 5 year old buy a pair of Jordan 11s size 10 a few years back lol
 
I got all excited because the amiibo page on EBGames that I've had up for weeks constantly refreshing finally changed from 9 items to 10.

I scroll down to look and it's a flipping amiibo block carrying case :/
 
Best. Day. Ever. My mother called me a few hours ago to tell me that she "found the amoeba I was looking for" while she was at TRU looking for puzzles. Now I have my precious Bowser Amiibo and he is just perfect. Might just be my bias talking, but Bowser really does look and feel like the best Amiibo.

Definitely the highest quality so far but DDD looks like he could be just as good.

I haven't bothered with Wave 3 yet cause I know my local stores just aren't ganna have em. I mean, I have the majority of them on order. Just need Meta Knight, Shulk and maaaaybe Rosalina if my target guy doesn't come through. Is there a trading thread? I'll probably end up trading an extra Pit + Captain fer Meta Knight or Shulk.

Sad to hear it :( But one lesson I learned a long time ago: never, ever have faith in Entertainment Earth. So many broken dreams...
 
Finally got my hand on Rosalina and Shulk. So many other people online got six amiibos or more. One family got three Rosalinas alone, I don't know how NWS allowed it.

maybe it is isolated then, since the EB where mine are being sent, hasn't called me yet to pickup =/
 
I think I might be done with Amiibo after I get the next couple that I want, namely Rosalina, Ness, Charizard, and Duck Hunt. I already have Toon Link, Sonic, Mega Man and Shulk preordered. Nintendo's distribution channels and communication is toooooo awful and I don't think that I want to deal with this crap anymore.

From what I saw, they still had a pretty good stock of various wave 3s behind the counter. I asked the cashier when they'll get Mega Man, he said maybe they'll get them next week.

EDIT: I also noticed that when a certain character ran low, someone brought another box to replenish supply.
 
So, wait...when is Target selling Rosalina? Why are some people suggesting to check on Saturday?

I saw Bowser and Toon Link in TRU in Hoover, Alabama last week, but they're all gone.

Can't believe you waited on that line. I saw it and immediately turned around. Does the line move quick? They probably wouldve sold out by the time it was my turn anyway
 
Meta Knight, Rosalina, Bowser, Shiek, DeDeDe, Ike, Toon Link, and Lucario arrived in the mail from Amiami today. Also got my Villager and Wii Fit Trainer from Amazon jp that I ordered way back. My collection is coming along nicely.

Also I don't know if it's just mine, but Meta Knight's paint job is really shoddy on his mask, shoes, and shoulders. Very uneven black paint. Hopefully the ones from Best Buy are better.

I haven't been there in years, that's where my wife went to college. It always feels like a small world to see other gaffers living all around me. Tell me, are you familiar with The Grotto and The Pixie?

They stick to the 1 per customer limit. Can't really refuse service to others just because they came as a group, even if it is for scalping.
 
Checked my Meijer. Nothing new, but I noticed two of the pegs' label were blank. Makes me wonder if they're preparing for new ones, considering the labels for Link & Yoshi were still there, yet were sold out.

Of course! Never spent much time at either, though. I live in the general area and graduated from CMU in 2009.
