The funny part is that the more she posts these on her Twitter, the more people will Tweet at her more and more outlandish comments in an attempt to gain attention.
It's not ironic that her view on Tropes and Women in Video games is strongly reinforced by her real life situations, but I think a lot of people, including myself, hate that she garners further attention by bringing attention to herself, and her own situation.
Ban me if you want, but I am of the opinion that you should not put out negativity in a public forum. If every celebrity published their hatemail and death threats on a weekly basis, I'm sure it would match or exceed the tweets she receives.
She CHOOSES to make this public, and it on exacerbates the situation, but again, it's beneficial to her cause, because she is using it as ammunition.
It's simply a vicious cycle, and makes me sick to my stomach. If she were to simply go on publishing her video series, and ignore the haters, this situation would have never arose.
I'm not saying she brings it on herself, I'm saying she is allowing herself to be a larger victim and target than she needs to be.
It's the Lizard Squad phenom. They'd be harmless without attention.
...But in this particular situation, those tweets can be used as evidence that supports her arguments. It's beneficial for the cause if more people see this sort of mentality is very much rampant. Some might say sexism/misogyny barely exists until you present them with such overwhelming evidence, for example.
