Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I feel like I dodged a bullet when I made King Dedede and Ike Gamestop preorders that ship from the warehouse. Mega Man and Sonic were made through Amazon, and while I do think they will eventually get me the Amiibos, I'm not a fan of the delay and would be much more worried about not getting them at all had they been characters that I would assume are rarer. (Sheik, Ike)

I need to actually fight some of my Amiibo. I haven't leveled any of the wave two guys yet....

Have there been any attempts at in-depth analysis of the Amiibo learning stuff? Cynicism that it works well has reduced the extent to which I use them....
 
About the Hyrule Warriors functionality, I know Link and Toon Link essentially function the same and unlock the Spinner weapon, but do Zelda and Sheik get bonus weapons too?
 
No, Zelda & Sheik just give you a random Level 3 weapon. Basically a better random drop compared to the rest of the other amiibos.

There was a video of someone that was testing Amiibos and training them in different ways, then pitting them against other CPUs. I can't find it now. What you do against the Amiibo does change its behavior and playstyle.

I accidentally taught my Pikachu Amiibo to taunt after KOing someone (I was fighting against it, and taunting after a KO is a reflex for me after SSB64 and Melee taught me to do it for points). He didn't do that at first. Take that however you want.

My Marth always makes a beeline for the edge of the stage at the beginning of a fight. I think I did that early when I was training him.

Take that with a grain of salt.
 
I recall mine will sometimes taunt after a KO since I tend to do that on reflex. Though I only trained Link myself & then had it fight in a group with Mario, Kirby, & Yoshi. Then when I got Luigi, Captain Falcon, DK, & Samus, I just had all of them fight in a 8-player match a few times. I'd usually participate and do 5-stock matches, then have it set to about 20 minutes so they could level up a decent amount & get me coins, custom moves, etc.
 
Got me a Sheik amiibo this morning at the Mayfield Heights, OH Target. I had to ask for it from the back since they didn't have any out front in their teeny tiny amiibo section. The employee told me there were 2 left (as of 10AM EST). So if you're in that area, try and snag the last two! I only got one for myself.

Sad to hear. Seems consistent that Amazon is shipping all Amiibos in March.
I am so happy though because my n3DS finally shipped and I am getting it Thursday it says. So my luck is now even.

Thanks for the heads up. I had MP10 preordered with shopto at their £37 price point but had several of the other amiibos ordered around other sites. Hopefully Nintendo deliver on this since my other preorders were done last week when the Mario ones went up. I opted for the Peach, Bowser and Toad bundle, with Luigi on the side...damn these things. I was hoping to start a teaching course this year but I'm instead burning money on figurines. Blah. I don't know about Yoshi yet. He looks beyond adorable but I already got my brother the Smash one for Xmas.

I picked up Bowser today. My local Toys 'R' Us said they wouldn't get stock in until the 15th Feb but I went in on a whim and they had all Wave 3A in apart from Rosalina (of course...:( ). I asked a girl who was on the floor if they had Rosalina in but she kinda flat out said no, so I wonder if lots of people have been in asking for her. I doubt it since I don't live in a city, but mine is a bigger chain.

I picked up a Bowser, even though I'll be getting him in the classic pack too, they both look awesome. The only thing I don't like is the jaw being split in two.
Here's my desk and current collection including the Villager I was able to buy from Resistance100 ^-^. Still waiting on Diddy Kong and Toon Link from Shopto which was ordered this time last week...something tells me I'll be filing a lost parcel form. Disappointed with them lately.

Anyone knows when TRU.com are supposed to send confirmation emails regarding this wave? I think I'mma call them up to see what's going on.

I'm thinking the same thing. He's the one I wanted before I wanted any of the others, the reason I wanted any. I'm afraid I'll miss out on him. How is shipping to Canada/U.S?

I think you're right, unfortunately. :( I was hoping I would be able to head to Target at 8am and Best Buy at 10am on the first for Rosalina and Meta Knight (I wanted to check out the stock in store just in case the one they shipped is messed up), but now the waiting game continues. I just hope we get an actual release date and Best Buy doesn't just put him out in the stores on some random day.
 
Woo! Found Bowser at GameStop. No Toon Link or Sheik though. The girl working the counter complained that she needs those two as well. Almost sounds like they're not in the same case assortment.
 
I'm still waiting for my Amazon.it order of 3 more Rosalina to pull through for friends.

Says here: Forecast delivery: Monday, February 2, 2015 - Monday, February 9, 2015 by 20:00

Not yet shipped, hmm. Amiibo from Amazon.fr costed around $72 CAN same will be for Amazon.it. Around 50 EUR.

Lucario sent from Amazon.de, costed my around $25CAN. Still waiting on Shulk and Metaknight.

The latest information is that Canadian Targets will get Rosalina but allegedly haven't received shipments of her yet, so the Feb. 1 release date is somewhat in doubt. Also, not all Targets will get her (some of them that are in a fast-track liquidation process won't). So things are looking better for Canada but still a bit murky.

Hey guys. So I've been talking with MADGAME & he's gonna throw in a Fox for the giveaway that I'm doing. I'll do a Modbot giveaway where you can enter to win a Rosalina (hopefully I can get her) or Fox. I'll allow you to enter both, but I ask that :

1.) You're only allowed to win 1 amiibo (I doubt the Modbot drawing would choose one person to win both, but I just want this to be clear). Again, you can enter for both if you wish, but let's have two winners to spread the joy.
2.) If you already won ThisBeJason's contest or the one for the Toon Link amiibo, please sit out so we can get some new winners.

However, we need your opinion on something. I've checked the cost of shipping to Canada & EU and it's about $8 to $10. However, there's a good amount of people outside the US (especially Canadians with the C.i.s.o.R list) who would like to take part in the contest. We were thinking of two options here.

1.) Keep it limited to US as to keep the cost of shipping down.

2.) Allow EU & Canadians to enter, but ask that should someone from one of those two locations win, they pay for shipping.

Please remember I'd doing this with my limited college budget, but I also want to be fair and do my best to let more people to enter/win.

Did anybody else just get an email from TRU about in store Lucario preorders? I just got one saying that he's delayed and they didn't get him in.

The weird thing is I was at the store last week and the manager wouldn't sell Lucario, so I know they have them already...
