ARROW Season 3 |OT| Welcome to the New Age

Seems most of the time the writers try to write drama for female characters it seems to suck. First Thea, then Laurel and now Felicity. They need to either stop it or get someone else to do it because it annoys me.
While we're at it please no more crying scenes for Felicity.

Glad Roy's getting some more screen time in Oliver's absence. Saving Laurel's ass and creeping.

Can't imagine anyone wants to be the mayor to be honest.
2 of them were shot and killed in season 2 and now another one attacked.

Laurel please get good soon. Writers please don't make the second half of season 3 nothing but Laurel getting her ass handed to her.

Arrow should do more multi-episode arcs. They're a lot more enjoyable than the villain of the week episodes.

Can someone explain the Hong Kong storyline to me?
All I've learnt so far is that... they're in Hong Kong, and something about a mind control serum.

Red Arrow name drop :)
Arsenal and Canary team up :D When Oliver comes back it's going to be great.

Good episode, would have been better if I didn't spoil myself that end scene.

Last week I felt they were getting on track but it was slightly off. This week I feel they are back in form and I have to wonder why the 1st half of this season had to suck so badly.

Felicity making a quantum processor solo is very annoying. With that skill she basically could run a start up herself and already be richer than Oliver was.

She's afflicted with Reed Richards Syndrome.

Didn't like how Oliver lived cause of the snow and cold and his 'will to live' that's just bullshit. Should have went with the full magical explanation instead of the totally stupid unbelievable one. At least with the former we can slightly justify it by saying it's a TV show and not just that but one based on a comic book.

Did she say she made one? I assumed she jacked it from Queen Consolidated.

You know they COULD just be feeding him this as misinformation cause the secret of the Lazarus Pit is WAY too important, even for their friend.

Good episode. Roy is the best. Roy forever.

- Short promo for next week's episode (please spoiler tag any discussion)

Wow that spoils a lot. Just like that promo that randomly showed DJ douche was a League spy.

Merlyn agreed to Thea's wishes to stay in Starling City and fight Ra's Al Ghul rather than flee. Merlyn is being hunted by his former allies in the League of Assassins, and the final shot of the episode revealed that Thea's budding love interest Chase (Austin Butler) is double crossing her by feeding information on her whereabouts to Maseo (Karl Yune) — who is in turn double crossing Oliver (Stephen Amell) as an informant for R'as.

Other way around?

OK that was my favourite episode this season.

Ray is great and makes it fun and not all serious despite the drama everyone else is going through.

Laurel was good and I'm glad they show her struggling but not totally incompetent. Her not telling her dad about Sara is annoying but understandable. She remembers what happened to Chesthair when Sara died the first time, this time he has a heart condition and nothing much in his life except his daughters so it could kill him.

When Masuo and Ollie saved Katana did they just go back to the same apartment where Katana was kidnapped from in the first place? It looked the same but you'd expect them to hide somewhere in case the triad attack.

I bet Thea is regretting buying Verdant now its in a war zone.

That night club fight scene was pretty good.

Really dug this episode. Loving the Diggle/Roy/Laurel action so far, kinda hope they really take their time bringing Oliver back into the fold.

There's a shot of Oliver during the flashback, in Maseo's apartment. He looks fairly similar to comic Ollie. Kind of tripped me out.

I was about to post the same thing. I've been noticing him looking more and more like comic Ollie in the flashbacks over the seasons and in season 3 it is definitely more pronounced.

did Laurel have deeper voice during the warehouse rescue at one point

Laurel as Canary is not bad. I like it.

if Ollie's flashback becomes pointless/boring they really need to stop it rather that keep going because its the formula of the show. this is not Lost
like some characters (True Blood) who were kept even though their story ran its course

Who the hell does Roy think he is trying to step to da gawd Merlyn? Better fall back 'fore you get slapped up and clapped up, boy.

I like Laurel as BC. She's a nice change of pace for more superhero adaptations as she's not immediately a badass upon suiting up. She can fight, but takes more hits than Roy or Dig or Ollie would. She doesn't quite have the acrobatics down and she makes mistakes, but she's still clever and can form strategies. And even at her worst this ep, she was never as bad as Island Ollie in past seasons.

Flashback China White needs new goons. Those dudes just fell over.

Brick is awesome.

Best part about the episode was that Laurel getting beaten up in every fight scene. At least they are playing up the fact that she's a rookie at this.

Yeah, it was like they went back to the same place China White already broke into instead of a new location. Kinda seems like a bad idea but I guess nothing bad happens, no wonder Oliver never suggested to Laurel that it might be a good idea to move. Oliver staying alive is kinda sorta lame and I might need to go back but it did look like they moved his stabbing location down, never mind surviving that drop with zero damage. Continuing to keep Chesthair in the dark about Sara just feels so stupid and something that's going to end up causing even more damage than Laurel feared his just knowing would've otherwise caused. It's getting to the point of just being cruel.

I thought... Dinah was her middle-name?

Nope, Dinah is her first name, just like in the comics where her mother's first name was also Dinah. She just goes by her middle name.

No love for this exchange?
Brick: "Money can't solve this problem, Palmer."
Palmer: "I don't know. I have a lot of money."

I just love Brandon Routh so much in this.

i trust they're saving the Lazarus Pit for some real crazy shit down the line...

I really hate the hand wave explanation of how Oliver lived especially since it destroyed my theory that Oliver would be revived by the Lazarus Pit and thus finally become the "Green" Arrow. Oh well, the episode was great for the most part the only thing I hate is the constant lying to Det. Chesthair. At this point he should just be told, I mean is he also some kind of idiot that he can't tell his two daughters apart? Actually, don't answer that question.

Amazing episode.

I like a lot the fact that even though Laurel has become Canary, she is not besting everyone she is fighting. It takes training and experience and Laurel has very little of both.

Brick is just brilliant, and his threat level is very high.

I liked how Thea stood her ground against Merlyn and convinced him to stay.

The Roy Merlyn canvo was funny to me because at one moment i saw that Roy flinched/got scared of Merlyn.

So the DJ is an assassin. Great, i know the league will keep tabs on Merlyn.

The HK sequence was great, and i think that Oliver learned to do anything for his family from Maseo.

Good episode. Brick is a great villain, and I love the way they've ramped up the threat for the team. It feels like it's leading toward a mid-season finale. I imagine next week will be a slightly scaled down version of Team Arrow vs. Slade's Army. The writers have done a nice job developing the team dynamic without Ollie.

- Diggle doing some drunken flying. I hope he didn't do too much damage when he finally landed. Not that I imagine it matters much thanks to all the bullet holes. Seriously, though. His moment with Roy was pretty darn nice.

- Roy <3

- Laurel really is a monster.

- I'm glad the whole Thea and her stupid DJ plot actually has a point. I'm sure

- Brandon Routh wasn't a very good Superman, but he makes a pretty awesome Ray Palmer. I don't know how they'll flesh him out for a spin-off, but I'm looking forward to it.

Great episode. Somebody should gif Laurel slipping on that van's hood :D But the humor of her stumbling with vigilante role made her more sympathetic.

That said..this is Roy's trilogy. Guy's been good this season and great when Oliver's gone. Makes me hopfully they will manage to turn Laurel around same way.

There are only two things that bothered me. Oliver's surviving is pure BS and I hope they still have a trick in their sleeve for that. And second..Laurel can't fight..the Glades is getting steamrolled by the awesomeness that is Brick..how about you dumb people go and ask the damn Ted Grant for help?!

laurel trolling her poor father with this sara thing is ridiculous. this show's insistence on keeping secrets to hilarious lengths doesn't work.

episode was good though, but guys...it's time to stop giving laurel so many L's. give her a training episode so she can...

....RISE

speaking of RISE, they should totally have Oliver healing and training with that asian chick for a little bit, pushups/chinups only lol. And then later on when Canary and Roy are getting their ass kicked you see a green arrow stop an assailant

And I must day, Arrow's on a roll. After a rough start this season this is the fifth awesome episode in the row.

Oliver's name might be Queen, but he's the King of comicbook shows ;)
(God, that;s cheesy)

The only thing i did not like about the episode is that old switcharoo trick of the medicine without any foreshadowing or set up.
To me what made it work is that it was Waller who did the switch, anticipating Maseo's dumb ass would just give the virus to a damn triad. Very nice.

Looks like he'll be back next week going by IMDB. But I think his role was significantly reduced after J.R. Ramirez started working on another show as a regular.

I think this season has had mostly good episodes. Only episodes 1, 2, 5 & 6 strike me as particularly weak and even they were better than the first half of the first season. And from episode 8 onward it's been full steam ahead.

Oh man, I have the same exact microphone Laurel was using when she was on the phone as Sarah talking to her dad. It's a really basic Staples microphone, except they removed the wire.

Oh sure. I still liked most of this season episodes. It's just that I expect Arrow to have great episodes all the time. We've been spoiled like that :) But I do think a lot of what made the recent episode work was the groundwork they laid earlier this season. And a lot of stuff that seemed off is now paying off. Ra's disappointing people at first, but turned out to be just plain incredible villain. Roy;s been owning the hell ouf his Arsenal persona. The DJ turned into League's plant. The episodes without Oliver are turning to be just awesome, which is shocking. Even flashbacks have fallen into the place now and it looks like they might even turn Laurel around.

If they keep it up I have a feeling this might end up the best season of Arrow yet.
