ARROW Season 3 |OT| Welcome to the New Age

think reason behind that was she had likely already worked on the idea from the get go just didn't say shit.
Quantum processors are real things. It's just that quantum computing is still in its infancy, and the current greatest minds in the world can't yet get it to work reliably.

That Felicity can just whip one up in her spare time is pretty insulting.

Saw this at io9, but it's legit true. Quentin's heart better fucking explode the second he finds out about Sara to justify all this insanity.

i'd rather see ATOM stick to the 2 current shows (& vixen). i like that both shows are chock full of great characters, and i'd hate to let them dilute themselves with new shows - especially when the Flash/Arrow 'World's Finest' dynamic works so well already.

don't you bring that bad juju in here

We all know it's happening. He is too perfect to live :(

The technology abuse/lack of reality is necessary for the genre though. It really shouldn't be taken as an insult.

Yeah, but not this way. If Palmer Tech made one happen through its research, it would be a handwave issue, much like how Stark Industries has revolutionary AI like JARVIS and other incredible and impossible technology. But to just have some IT girl whip one up? Come on.

I understand the Atom becomes the atom in episode 18 of the flash.

She's really not.

I will say that I wish with all my heart that Laurel does not become some vigilante as I think she should stay as a prosecutor. Her becoming a vigilante is basically a reversion from where she currently is, in fact it's kind of tragic; it's like Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face. My real hope for her character is that her father dies from his impending death heart attack and she becomes motivated to actually help the city beyond beating people up at night. Thus, she runs for Mayor and wins and in doing so aids Oliver in his quest to bring justice to Starling City. In other words, she becomes the more influential Commissioner Gordon to Oliver's Batman.

It is known.

Something else that struck my mind today (I get really bored at work) is that every 14th episode of each season so far has been dedicated to Slade Wilson ;)

Anychance that he dies and returns as someone powered by an artificial heart? Anyone in the dc universe that fits that bill?

Plot twist, he's fine at coming to terms with Sara but rages at the lengths Laurel went to lie to him and that gives him a heart attack.

So then it's the fabrication that's bothering you? That I could see.

felicity is going to "please just die" territory for me at this point.

WE did this. all of us. laurel though, she might show promise. just please stop stringing your dad along with this sara shit lol. it's making the entire cast of arrow look cruel

Keeping Sara's death from Detective Lance was pretty messed up before, but in this episode it crossed over into just being cruel. Impersonating Sara twice when speaking to him...super messed up.

I feel like we've entered some type of mirror universe. I never thought I would see the day that Laurel gets praise and Felicity gets trashed in an Arrow thread. We've come a looooooooong way from Season One. Haha

I think the writers are really struggling on what to do with Felicity this season. They just keep bouncing her around between heroes. Barry, Oliver, Ray. Like there has to be more to her than that. I feel like everybody has been getting extra points this season. Thea trained because she was sick of being scared and weak. Roy stepped up in Oliver's absence. Diggle not getting pushed into the background just because he has a family, Laurel taking on the Canary persona...but Felicity is just used as either a romance subplot or a story device. And her big chance to shine (Secret Origin of Felicity) was probably the worst episode of the series so far. I don't hate Felicity, I just don't get her. The "will they/won't they" stuff is annoying enough when you have it with her and another character, but it's being used for three...in less than a season's time.

Felicity should have a falling out about the Team Arrow's tactics and form her own white hat hacker group or something.

Yeah, Felicity better have ordered that chip from Palmer's R&D department or something.

Yeah that's what I thought she did. She just noticed that Ray wanted the wrong part so she got the right one from Palmer Tech but didn't invent it or build it herself.

Nah, she did her herself. He even compliments saying the design was elegant.

I don't know about how comic book logic works around here, its ok to survive an insane fall with a stab trough the chest, but making a superprocessor in the spare time is "OMG show ruined"

Honestly I look at Felicity and Laurel and see Arrow's version of Chloe and Lana. I did love me some Chloe like I do Felicity though.

Nah, she did her herself. He even compliments saying the design was elegant.

Who said we was okay with that?

Show's not ruined, but I never liked the character in the first place, and now they're taking her into the extreme in the very direction I don't like. Oliver's revival isn't spectacular, either.

As I was saying in the Flash thread, Felicity pulled a
quantum fucking processor
out of her ass this week. Can they please retire this character already?

Welcome to comic book science. Enjoy your stay.

edit: this isn't nearly as ridiculous as Cisco on flash, who not only made a cold gun that could reach absolute zero, but a heat gun that could reach fucking Planck temperature.

Also starting not to become a huge fan of Felicity but i can tolerate her, she doesn't have as much screen time as a certain other character whom i find beyond annoying.

I don't see them killing/writing her off as bad as i want them to cause i can't stand her character. she devours screen time, always with her wah wah wah, I just start browsing gaf on my phone when she starts talking. Best case scenario is they reduce her role to almost being irrelevant. please do that writers.

At the very least though, Cisco makes things like that on a regular basis. He invents and is really fucking smart, so it's believable in a way aside from the time frame.
But Felicity making a quantum processor within like a day specifically for Palmer is one big fucking ass pull.
As far as Ollie's death we don't really have the full details of what happened, especially since Maseo is in the shady side of things working with DJ douche

I know im not the only one picturing Ras teaching his young blonde douche pupil the secret ancient art of Dub S'Tep.

I just think that the writing has been awful for quite some time now.
since they had to go full bullshit with Oliver they should have used some magic to make him recover right away and make him fly back to SC, that way, (at least) Brick would have been out of the show already. I like the actor but his pointless story and the "let's take over the city uurgh - 10th attempt by random villain #7" thing are just not interesting in the least.

laurel is just ,,,

that ending with the DJ was funny, actually. such artistry behind these PLOT TWISTS

Yeah. Flash covers this area well. I think whatever comes next from CW should explore the mystical side of the universe.

Mythical side would cost a shit load of money to produce, therefor I think it's off the table.

CW already confirmed that the upcoming animated series Vixen would be set in the Arrowverse (so it'll be canon). It'll deal with the mythical side of the Arrowverse and it'll have the first female and Black protagonist of the Arrowverse.

Vixen is the latest DC Comics' character to make the jump to The CW. The superhero is set to star in her own animated series, coming via The CW Seed, the network's platform for original digital content.
KSiteTV had the first details, including that "Arrow's" executive producer Marc Guggenheim will be overseeing the project, and Vixen's adventures will be set in the same world as CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash" live-action series. Two promotional images were also made available at Sunday's Television Critics Association event, including one that shows Vixen taking center stage with Arrow and The Flash in the background.
Vixen debuted in 1981's "Action Comics" #521, and was character was created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner. Vixen is the alter-ego of Mari Jiwe McCabe, who has a mystical Tantu totem that "gives her the abilities of one animal at a time." The promotional images also gives more background on the character:
"Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe's parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inhereting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals -- anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from the threats like those that claimed her family."
The series is expected to debut next fall .

Man, I hope Vixen is close to a half hour long. I have a feeling it'll be sub 10 minutes, though.

I hope she improves her fighting stance to match the pants.

League members all choose a weapon to specialize with. Merlyn grabbed a bow. Sara grabbed a staff. DJ grabbed a turntable.
Are you...are you saying that she will be a master of the devastating martial art known as Hip-Hopkido?
Vixen is an animated series and not nearly as expensive to produce as live action series.
Can't wait for it to start airing.

Animated series can be just as expensive, if not more expensive, than live-action. That really doesn't make a difference unless their specific way of doing things is cheaper on the animation side.

Kill off Laurel, and let Felicity take a break.

Bring in Katana and Huntress.

Also give Diggle a fucking costume.

Diggle's a black guy with a gun running around in a major metropolitan crime-ridden city.

Ain't nobody gonna be able to ID him.

And kill of Laurel? Hell naw. I've been waiting two years for this moment. TIME FOR LAUREL TO BEGIN TO KICK ASS.

BLACK CANARY BEGINS.

LET'S DO THIS SHIT.

Mythical side would cost a shit load of money to produce, therefor I think it's off the table.

Why? To make it fit into Arrowvrse they would still have to concentrate on more subdued aproach to mythical. I don't think it would require anything that early seasons of Supernatural or Vampire Diaries didn't have.

Laurel's on some of that Matt Murdock shit. I like it, even if it is a little rough around the edges. That's good. Makes it feel natural. I miss Wildcat though.

Ye. But realistically Vixen won't get her own live action show.

Maybe CW should make Timothy Hunter show. Go after that Harry Potter fanbase :D Worked for Vampire Diaries and Twigliht :)

Also has me thinking, whats the theme of this season? There really is none is there? Redemption I guess? I dunno. First we had his crusade, second is becoming a hero, third he is just wandering around.

Family. Oliver accepting more people/friends into his fold (however begrudgingly), plus a lot of familial subplots at work: Thea/Malcolm, Maseo/Tatsu, Laurel/Sara, even Ra's to an extent, who's brought into the story because of his daughter. And then maybe something going with Felicity and her mom will become important too.

didnt like the idea of laurel being the canary, but that shot of her sitting on the operating table getting her wound stiched without even flinching has converted me.

"Why do we fall, Laurel?"

ucQZt8K.gif

"So we can learn to pick ourselves up."

All I have to say to that is who the hell is Timothy Hunter?

The protagonist of Books of Magic

The comics are amazing. I'm actuall shocked that between all the DC shows in production nobody is trying to do Books of Magic.
