Definitely. As has been mentioned in other posts, it seems very quick fire.
Because there's so many characters to get through with the Smash collection, they're firing them out and then moving to the next one as well as introducing new collections simultaneously. So shelf space has to be considered for retailers among other factors I'd imagine. I think also, going into the NFC toy market was a bit of a risk for Nintendo given how everyone kicks their ideas to the ground, and there's already 2 massively successful games running off a similar business model already. So maybe that's why there wasn't enough stock produced also.
I'm hoping all the Smash figures get a second printing to make them less valuable, but I'm not sure how these things work in a business setting or how much they would set back Nintendo. If anything, they WANT there to be a mad rush in demand for their product so I bet they're loving it. Half the amiibo I have I probably wouldn't have bought at this point had it been I could walk in any time to a store or shop online and find the figure I want.

...I have a friend currently in nyc. I wonder how heavily I'd be imposing....For anyone in the city, J&L game in NYC has a bunch of amiibos in stock. I got a Fox from them about a month ago and they were really nice people. It was a really cool shop and they even had New 3DS imports for sale. I wanna go back and get me a Marth and Villager :/

On a happy note, if you want rosalina and live in Southern California, the launch shipment is good. DC plans the second shipment to be larger. With a third shipment to follow launch numbers the second/third week of February.
Launch plan is 8 minimum to 12 max for low volume electronic stores. 20 minimum to 38 max for medium volume. 50 minimum to 78 max for highest volume. A few of the 60+m stores are getting 100+
With Sunday being basically a holiday, I can't imagine you won't be able to pick one up.

On a different note, what amiibo(s) is everyone going to be hunting for this weekend? I'l be getting my 2 Shulk at EBGames and will be hoping to score an Ike amiibo somewhere.

So from reading the last few pages of the thread just now, Lucario is releasing tomorrow now? Is that confirmed? I could go by after work in the morning, but don't want to waste three hours of waiting, since I live decently far away, if it isn't happening.

Just FYI, J&L prices their shit insanely high. I wouldn't be surprised if the Trinity goes for 40.

I hit up a Meijers in my town and they actually had placeholders for all of the Wave 3 including sonic, Ike and megaman and they had a placeholder saying New Release 2/3/15. I assume some or all of them will be there Tuesdsay.

I imagine he probably wouldn't be happy because the Shulk Amiibo, MH4U, Majora's Mask 3D, and the New3DS all release on the same day. For retailers like Gamestop it's probably gonna be crazy.

I guess it really depends how far they go with the Mario line.
I skipped the Smash versions of Mario, Luigi and Peach because I thought they looked pretty bad, and the newer versions I like more. I won't mind the red bases if I end up grabbing a bunch more to match like Toadette, Birdo, Koopa Troopa, Shy Guy, Magikoopa etc. Just depends if they end up making amiibos of them all.
The future waves are totally gonna be stuff like Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach

I actually got all of mine several days ahead of schedule, doorstep delivered. Each one in a separate box. Rosalina took a few extra days for some reason -- I think maybe customs, according to tracking.
I used the cheap shipping for my Lucario from them. the expected date was supposed to be Feb 2nd, but I received it yesterday on the 28th.

Gonna get up in about 5 hours, clean myself up, clean up my apartment a bit, head to a nearby grocery store next to the Gamestop that opens at 10 AM, grab my Bowser and pay off some of the others, and then play games the rest of the day.

If no limit is imposed, all you need is one person to get there and buy them all. If I get there when the store opens, fairly confident I can get one or two, limit depending, but if work holds me over and I can't get there till 815 or 830, and there's no limit, I would not be shocked at all if the shelves are empty. And I don't even live in a real big area, but you just need one person in the know who's going to buy them all to resell.
