Playstation TV Thread: Vita Who?

$59 is getting into very tempting territory, if only because it'll work with my TV capture card and I could do proper LPs with it... hmm hmm...

Picked one up. RP is working fine for what I've tested. Any way to get Vita games from my download list to the thing in an easier way than scrolling through a 15 pages long download list? Sorry, if that's been asked before.

Use Content Manager if you can copy the games from a Vita. Otherwise, uh, if you remember what games you own, going through the store is usually faster to find the games. I think there's some download list tool but I don't remember the name of it and haven't used it myself.

Lets say I buy this, load up my PSN account onto it...would it be possible to play multiplayer on the same PSN+ game (lets say Dragon Crown) with one person on the Vita and the other on the Vita TV? Or would it knock one of us off due to being logged into the same account?

Its the "..." circle on the bottom right of the store (at least on the Vita) there is an option to see EVERYTHING you've ever downloaded on PSN. It is very useful indeed.

Ad hoc works, I don't believe online does

Oh I know, but it's terrible for those of us with over a thousand content items across 4 platforms though. Can't believe it's basically never been improved since back when it was PS3 only

I'm so tempted...but I'm having trouble justifying it.

I’ve played most the VITA & PSP exclusives I was interested in already. I love the Vita and want so badly to say there are games on the horizon I’m excited for….but there isn’t 

I could set one up and fill it full to the rim with my favorite VITA/PSP/PSX games…..but would I actually go and replay them?

Great, and most games separate their ad-hoc and multiplayer modes?

Is sony even bothering to update the white list anymore? I want to pick one up for under $50 but it just seems like its so poorly supported by sony.

It does seem like a shit show but I did find this link -

https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...tible-games/cid=STORE-MSF77008-PSTVCOMPATIBLE

Filters what is PSTV compatible by Vita game and by classics (PSP / PSOne / Minis)

If the Netflix & Hulu apps worked, it would justify the purchase for me .., I can't for the life of me understand why they don't support more streaming services when they can be found on every one of their other systems.

Still salty I paid 140 for this thing. I like it the remote play works fine but try signing in with a sub account. I had to buy a extra memory card to load my sons profile on for this to work Sony doesn't make multi user homes easy.

Netflix and Hulu aren't supported? The TV in Playstation TV sure is misleading.

It seems like the answer is no. New games coming out that should be compatible are ok but anything in the past and apparently they're too lazy to just tick a box and allow us to play it.

Oddball things like Duke Nukem 3D working but not knowing it suggests it hasn't been updated. You have to keep pushing past several "not supported" messages and startup blocks, and eventually it can get through. After which it works perfectly. I don't understand this system.

Well, I do, I just don't like the answer.

Just a heads up. Its currently $59 over at Best Buy:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-pl...=8575135&loc=0&id=1219238018522&skuId=6731028

FInally bought one.

Ordered one for in-store pickup. No tax on Amazon in Colorado, so I'm hoping they PM before I pick up, that would save me about $5.

Glad I bought 2 16GB Vita cards for $15 each at Target a few nights ago on clearance.

Could this price drop indicate that the system is already being phased out?

I think the permanent price cut to $80 not long ago shows sales numbers are lacking, but this is just a Deal of the Day thing with Best Buy, I don't think you can read too much from it.

I have to wonder what in the world SCEA expected from this given the "effort" they put in.

Yeah, I dunno, I was super excited to get a hold of one of these, and picked one up at launch. The remote play was subpar compared to the Vita tho and the lack of app support like Netflix in addition to a lot of games that should work not working was kind of a slap in the face, and I ended up returning it to Amazon at the time.

Going to grab one again I think since it's $60, see if any improvements have been made through FW updates at this point.

Think I'll finally bite at that price, though I was holding out in hope of getting the device + dualshock 4 for $100.

Does anyone know if the best buy price is also valid in store? Or online only?

It's never been bundled with a DS4 only DS3. I'd buy it at $60 and look for a deal on DS4 if you absolutely must have one (they've been $40 or less on occasion)

I'll bite at that price.

Thanks!

EDIT: Actually, on second thought, I don't think I would really have any use for this. Especially since it doesn't have Lumines support. Canceled.

Wasn't lumines support revealed recently? (edit: it was). Not sure why everyone has their panties in a knot for Lumines, lots of other great stuff here.

Yes I have used my ps3 arcade sticks on it to play Marvel 3 (vita), blazblue chrono phantasma (vita) and street fighter alpha 3 (ps1). But those sticks have dualshock pcb lol

I guess I should've been more clear ;-p

I would like to use a stock TE2 with the Vita TV. Is that possible?

Edit: did some digging in the thread. Don't think it's possible, but I'd love to be proven wrong :-(

hey does anyone use this regularly for ps4 streaming? Like for a game like destiny , always online, will it work okay?

would like to put one in bedroom and circumvent a second ps4... do NOT have a vita so nothing about the other features interest me much.

Remote play was patched very early, should be up to par with your vita experience (my remote play is fantastic). I don't care about Netflix, really... every tv I own already has it either built in, or has a console or bluray player with it already attached. I guess for people that don't own anything else Netflix would be nice, obviously.

Got mine. $59 after I applied a $5 off coupon I had lying around. Way too busy to try it out right now though. Oh and I still need to find a cheap memory card.

Crossing my fingers that the InPin works on it. Using my HRAP2SA on this thing would be amazing.

Bought it and already kind of regretting it. The wifi on it is slower than the vita's and like the ps4, the hdmi doesn't supply power so it doesn't work with my hdmi switch box.

It's worked for me but only when using Adhoc and not when using online.

need a new HDMI switch box then my friend. IT works on both of mine, also hardline it if you can, it solves about 80% of the terrible net issues with the PSTV
