Oh and mods its Batman #38 not #39
Well, are these scans or officially released pics? People are saying different things. Help me out here, I'm not a comics guy.
I took them from CBM. I suppose they don't have privy access to next week's comic. They have and interview wih Snyder and anything

They're officially hosted by this site. Thank you for the title change though<3
Wait, so he's an immortal god now? So Killing Joke is irrelevant now?
Wait, so he's an immortal god now? So Killing Joke is irrelevant now?
That's part of what makes it so good. It's just one of many possible ways a man like him could exist. To be fair, in that same book, Joker claimed he remembered his own origin differently every time, so it doesn't mean it's the Joker origin.
The Killing Joke has been irrelevant since 2011 when DC rebooted their continuity again.Wait, so he's an immortal god now? So Killing Joke is irrelevant now?
I'm not either, I assumed they were officially released as the comic is not out, they are around all comic pages and there are accompained by intervews with the author. If illegal please remove them and text will be placed instead.Well, are these scans or officially released pics? People are saying different things. Help me out here, I'm not a comics guy.
What a shitty original title. There were many other ways to convey your shock and yet you just put it all out there.
Isn't this the first time his origin story has been told since the new 52? How can it be a retcon?
The Killing Joke has been irrelevant since 2011 when DC rebooted their continuity again.
The purpose of the killing joke was to make his origin ambiguous.Yep that's the only origin in my mind, not this awful re-write lol

Oh okay then, then I hope this new origin is just the ramblings of a crazy man.Batman's continuity was mostly unaltered from New 52 in comparison to most of the other books. Also, both Death of the Family and Zero Year called back to the Red Hood/chemical plant origin.
wait what
who are the other two people?
ra's al is the second...
grundy the first?
Killing joke was never relevant beyond Barb being paralyzed. Joker has never had a concrete origin. Even the Red Hood origin could be a lie because he's an unreliable narrator. Making him a god would be terrible though, I always enjoyed the idea of a mortal tampering with higher powers than himself.
Welcome to comics.
The Killing Joke has been irrelevant since 2011 when DC rebooted their continuity again.
and have any of you saying this is awful actually read the issue or series in question? It's been really damn good.
Given joker's nature I'm sure this will be discredited soon and the real joker shows up at the end of the arc.
Makes sense since Harley said "Joker is "different"" back in death of a family and said she doesn't love him anymore. I don't think this is the real Joker.
Typical bad writing. "I said this but you can't prove it or deny it anymore".The important part of this is, we have no way of knowing the truth because the guy telling it is dead.
That leaves it open.

I love how this Endgame storyline is basically the culmination of 38 issues, and there's a lot of context to keep in mind, and people read scans of 2 pages out of context and respond "This is stupid."
Anything taken out of context is not going to have the proper impact.
Yes, pretty much. I don't like how no writer has the balls to make a definitive story, because most of them are just bad fan fiction. So essentially EVERY Joker origin story ever written?

Are they talking about midichlorians or something?

Thank you! I have no idea about how these websites work, I found the story interesting for Gaf. Already deleted the pics and left only text. The interview isn't theirs. They're copy+pasting from IGN, who actually did interview Snyder.
IGN's headline for the interview (which doesn't feature those panels) is BATMAN #38: SCOTT SNYDER ADDRESSES JOKER'S NEW ORIGIN, BIG VILLAIN RETURN
Well they allow stuff like this haha. I don't know what's worse. You assume editorial isn't stopping them.
