Super Bowl XLIX |OT| The Butler Did It

Lol Seahawks fans be mad that there defense got exposed badly

And there quarterback proved he's not ready for the big moment.

At the end of the day, Wilson just isn't a great quarterback. He's average, at best.

That discussion is definitely back on the table now that brady is tied with Bradshaw and Montana for wins. Most super bowl starts is certainly impressive though. Plus he has the advantage in super bowl tds. And 2007 season speaks for itself.

Brady also has tons of offensive post season records.
Undisputed GOAT.

Poor Jabee. Probably throwing up somewhere.

the beach balls were the best part today

I was in a pissy mood at half because of that easy easy score Seattle had to tie it, but those costumes got a laugh out of me...

nah he's not terrible but he's nowhere near as good as andrew luck, let alone the elite QB's in the league. he is afforded incredible luxuries due to a variety of reasons (great running game, remedial/easy reads due to the threat of the run, best defense in the league) so as long as he has those things he is good enough to not be too much of a liability on the team but i doubt seattle will ever be able to depend on him as some dominant/elite QB

I agree with you for the most part, but I still think the threat of Wilson running also helps beast mode's running game. I would place him in the back half of the top 10 range personally. Not elite, but a headache for D coordinators and has done a hell of a lot winning in his first 3 years, especially during crunch time and against the best teams in NFL.

This was one amazing game. As a Pats fan, i am happy we won. As a football fan, i couldnt ask for a better game. Back and forth, big plays, relatively clean, and some heart stopping wackiness. Just a wonderful game.

Not with wilson taking up all that cap space they aren't. Say what you want about brady, but the man took a pay cut in order to keep his team in the up and up while wilson is going to take the money and watch his team fall apart because of it.

In 2-3 years half or more of seattle's big names will be elsewhere because they won't be able to afford them, and I'm assuming it's going to start with lynch and one of their big name DBs this season.

Isnt Brady 37? He has made his money in the NFL already. Wilson is young, and still needs to make his loot. Can't compare imo.

but there are a lot of QB's who could potentially win in crunch time against good teams if they were given a chance. look at andrew luck vs. wussle in their respective title games. through 3 quarters, wussles QB rating was 0, andrew lucks was mid 30's. and yet, andrew luck was down 38-7, wussle was down 16-7. you can't discount this and say "well he made the plays when it mattered!" ok, but if you switch the defenses, wussle literally has not chance to "make the plays matter". he would be getting blown out.

It amazes me how low stupid will go

Patriots offense isn't a good match for the Seahawks. Dink and dunk all over the place until Gronk gets open. Gronk is close to undefendable without a double team.

edit: Seahawks need a good offensive coordinator and better receivers. That would make them almost unbeatable.

I agree, Wilson is on a dirt cheap contract right now, he needs to get paid while he can. He does have endorsements of course which help.

Brady is rich, has a rich wife, he can afford to take pay cuts to stay on the Pats.

Seattle early season favorites?

Well they did make it to the superbowl and almost won (help of a lucky catch) and lost off an unlucky interception, but if anything, their last two games exposed many weaknesses and shows that their defense isn't as unstoppable or impenetrable as the media likes to make it seem.

I can see them losing in the conference final next year (assuming that they keep their big players) but that's just my guess. I don't see them making it to a third straight Superbowl, mainly because I don't see a Aaron Rodgers led Green bay losing that game again.

This superbowl was the best I have ever seen. When I thought all was lost, patriots fans got the break they deserve. Congrats to the Seahawks for making it this far again and they were a great team this year. Repeating in football is just too hard

Just saw Bennett punk out some media guy asking questions about the fight at the end. Said something like "you wouldn't understand the kind of stuff that happens during a physical game...the only physical thing you've ever done is pick up a microphone."

It absolutely mattered. Butler saw the slant and watched as Wilson eyed him the whole time. He even said as much. Yeah, the WR got jammed a bit, but Wilson should've thrown it away. The window for that pass is one second. Anything doesn't go right at the snap and you just get rid of it,

So if he didn't eye him, the defender would have abandoned his coverage. Got it.

WTF Pete Carroll, WTF. Pete Carroll, you are guilty of the single worst play of the season -- forever. Great game, Seachickens. Up by 10 and you thought the fuckin game was over, didn't you? You just Green Bayed yourselves.

I'm done with SB commercials forever. That shit has been useless for about a decade now. Katy Perry was pretty good, but get that Missy Elliot bullshit out of there.

For sure, by design. But Browner was handsy.

Look at how the DB mirrors, this is text book. Never looked at QB until he saw WR plant and, broke on it like a demon.

So much this. I played Corner in HS and College and this is how youre taught to break on this ball. Hard to the upfield shoulder.

If Wilson throws it at the receiver's numbers Seahawks are the champions right now. But he didnt and Butler made the textbook play.

And in a year we will all be back seeing Brady get his 5th ring against the Cowboys and Jimmy G getting his 2nd

Yeah I understand he's upset but no reason for the fight, and certainly no reason to show his ass to the media afterward. Lose with class.

There should have been no slant pass, period. You're first and goal, with a battering ram of a running back who ran through the pats all game long, RUN THE FUCKING ROCK.

I just discovered that I defended my pick em title by picking the cheating Pats*. Pulled that one out of my ass, that's for sure. I don't think I lead the thing all season.

Seahawks have led the league in PED suspensions since 2010.

Don't you know? PEDs are small fish compared to a trumped-up scandal from 8 goddamn years ago that immediately preceded the greatest statistical season in NFL history (where the only thing preventing it from being the overall GOAT season was a circus catch with 1 minute left in the Super Bowl), and deflated footballs that didn't have anything to do with Indianapolis's offense being a dumpster fire.

Yup Vilam is on suicide watch right now.

Maybe next season he won't automatically assume the guy with a Santa Hat Manziel avatar is a Pats stan.

Seattle D had given up an average of 12 points per game in their last 10...14 in the 4th quarter alone of the SB.

We lost both Avril and Lane in the game. While not as big as Thomas or Sherman, they've both put a lot in time in the defense this season. Smith (I think that's his name), the guy that replaced Lane, gave up a touchdown and a few plays.throughout the game. That'd probably account for it.
