The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast - Tuesdays 8/7c

How’s this for a busy episode: another metahuman on the loose, Cisco partnering with Pied Piper to learn the truth about Firestorm, Barry’s father getting in on the crimefighting action. more Barry/Iris angst followed by a potential new love interest for the Scarlet Speedster, and to top it all off, drunken Grease karaoke. And yet “Crazy For You” did anything but live up to its title; despite some strong moments, it was an oddly subdued and disjointed hour of The Flash.

I did stop reading the review right there. Like seriously?

Cisco: "No one dangerous is ever gonna get out of this thing again."

Yeah, sure Cisco. I'm sure the warden at Arkham Asylum said the same thing.

That statement's also not very conducive to a tv series trying to go 7 or 8 seasons.

Also... I call bullshit on Iris being "fast" with her iphone camera. That is ridiculous. I press the button on my phone camera and it takes something like 2 seconds for the camera to actually snap the pic.

Metahuman prison is hardcore. No toilet, bed, chair, reading material, no hope for parole, no visitor hours, and can't go outside for a little exercise. Why not just kill them? Would be more humane.

This first season of flash has been so great so far. Pacing has been way better then arrow s1 and a million times better then agents of shield s1.

No wonder these people turn into super villains. They're all driven insane by solitary confinement.

Is it me or would Arrow and Flash be 100% better without the constant love story or love triangle BS?

You find it BS, but a lot of people like it -- especially the large female demographic of the CW. Plus, that sort of drama plays well overseas, which is an important part of why these shows keeps getting renewed with kind of anemic numbers.

I'm still shocked. They actually did it. Thay actually made a live-action version of Grodd.

Yeah, that was something. I was expecting some low rent Lost-polar-bear CGI crap, but nope. They went and did it.

Great episode.

I'm surprised it took them this long to have Barry sing. You can take the boy out of the Warblers but you can't take the Warbler out of the boy.

One step closer to my fantasy "Barry takes down a meta-human by hurling a rock salt laced slushee at them" episode.

I don't believe the romance is important when renewing the show. Plenty of series over the existence of TV haven't had romantic centers and have prospered.

Ya, I really hope Snow doesn't turn into Felicity 2.0 with constant ship teasing that never goes anywhere.

You can have a little build up and some teasing, but fucking do it or don't.

That was an excellent episode! Great villain, good character development and really cute Caitlyn.

FUCKING GRODD, man!

pls don't go to Barry/Caitlin = Baitlin

it was average villain of the week episode with some bad scenes.
Sewage workers = welp I guess we must turn our back from the noise because we are going to get pulled from the shadow scene. (Not even a dialogue of "huh must be nothing")
Other than that I like that surprised Ending

Also Barry and Father scene at the end was good

Wait a minute, in one of the preview for this week´s episode they showed Barry was kissing the girl on the coach, then he gets a call, and says he has to go. Was that a preview for future episodes?

i love this show so much, it's so fun.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing too tonight.
i understand that they needed it in the beginning, and they were in a rush.
but now they've had so much time to try and work out a much better solution, then what they have now. it's so cruel.

that lady tonight doesn't deserve to be put in that box and left to rot.
I let out an audible what the fuck when Cisco started busting out moves on Sound guy, I was not expecting that lol.
i lol'ed at that too

Great episode. The two fights, Grodd, drunk Caitlin. Awesome.
Also...damn that bullet catch :D Godmode on.

And lol at the preview. On CW even
hobos
are ripped :D

You only ever see the center of the cell. Pretty sure a bed and bath of some sort is implied. Probably just don't want to budget it.

Realistically they've literally shown no bathrooms on any of the sets, and most shows don't. That sort of thing is always implied.

Well, Cisco did learn why people are usually handcuffed with their hands behind their back. Silly Cisco still letting his guard down after that..

I'm kinda hoping the meta prison gets exposed and also... Where did her boyfriend go? It wasn't that dark... The karaoke could've lasted longer, drunk Caitlyn was great as was gentleman Barry. Nice his dad figured it out without taking multiple seasons to put two and two together.

I guess so starts Iris's quest to find out who the Flash is.

Great episode. The villain wasn't very exciting in her motives or characterization but was entertaining to watch in that Barry couldn't outspeed her. AV Club was harsh

  • Cisco is shockingly good at fighting.
  • Barry + Caitlin is hot, even if she can sometimes be cold.
  • Linda Park is smoking hot, but if she's that impulsive she'll probably end up with another man.
  • Looking forward to the fallout over Firestorm.
  • Grant Gustin's singing is a force of nature.
  • Going ape over Gorilla Grodd.

Wait until you hear Joe.

Every show needs a lil love bro, plus it's based off a comic book, getting the girl and saving the girl make up like 50% of those stories. They've done a good job not allowing the romance dictate the season/story like in Smallville, but 5 or so minutes per episode isn't bad and it's a nice break between the action and villain of the week stuff.

Also, ya'll are way too goddamn harsh on Iris/Laurel, it's like if a female on a show isn't the quirky sciency nerd type or an MMA fighter, then she's just "useless." At least unlike Laurel, Iris is always peppy/cheery, her scenes are always upbeat compared to Laurel's chronic depression/tragic mood (though I guess that's also just a difference in the tone of both shows).

Good episode. Linda Park and Peek-A-Boo are cute as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Felt bad for PAB though. Maybe they'll release her to let her be a hero or something. When she smartens up.

Also, Cisco is a fucking idiot. A repeated idiot. Like... maybe fucking have Barry watch your back? Tell someone your plan? Jesus, you're a moron. Fuck you, Cisco. You are the worst.

Moments between Barry and his dad. Tender. So tender.

Eddie was in this episode for literally five seconds, lol.

I'm liking the beginnings of dogged reporter Iris and now they're not fucking weird with each other and shit.

Drunk Caitlin is the best. I love her. So adorable omg. Wanna marry her.

Fucking Grodd? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, son.

Honestly, I've got nothing against the characters or actors, I think the writers just suck at writing realistic drama like Laurel's depression and Iris' obliviousness to Barry's love.

That said, they've taken great strides in the last while to rectify that. Iris isn't just Barry's object of affection, but now she's proactive, while Laurel's quit being a victim (or fuck, not even that, just the writers have stopped victimizing her with stupid shit constantly, well except for the whole "don't tell dad that Sara is dead bit", good God that's awful) and she's being proactive as well, trying to assert her life back in order (through kicking ass).
