Besiege - Physics based vehicle construction goes medieval

Really enjoying this game, its so fun.

Attempted making a rocket with the cannons.

SOOOOOOLDDD!!!! to the man typing this post!

This thread was enough to make me buy the game. Great price for the early access risk, but the game as it is, is already worthy of the price anyway

Just bought this based off the giant bomb quick look and that crazy video linked just above. Love the art style and interface.

Just started playing a bit. Got to the 4th level by making a giant multi fire bombing flying machine that I can barely steer. I got past the army fight by flipping upside down and scattering 4 firebombs everywhere, slaughtering everything. Loving it.

a friend sent me this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUnjxftU6r0 seems like a fun game, cant hurt to try it out

/v/ is being having fun with the game for the last 2 days... shit is incredible, there was a guy that already made a functional quasi Metal Gear Rex, another did a flying helicopter that actually works. Other did a flying ship full of cannons, and another made a terrific flying bomber. We are arguing of making another youtube video because some of the creations of this day alone grant another one. Oh I forgot about the other machines like a wolf that has a blade for tail and can actually sit, a NSFW orgasmic siege machine, a carousel of flamethrowers.

This are some of the shit ton of things /v/ has been making the last 2 days, I already bought the game and I will start to play with it and perhaps even upload something myself to be honest the amount of imagination in some of this things can be pretty overwhelming.

Oooh, didn't know you can do that.

Though I have a pretty good idea on how to do a bombing run with just springs and hinges now.

Yeah, it's really useful if you want to do things like have multiple rows of cannons, so you can set the first row to fire on 1, second on 2, etc.

Wow, this game is a lot of fun.

Wow, I'm dumb.

Also I have to say the look of the game is super awesome. I hope they don't change a thing in the full game. Not even the hoppy no-animation style for the people in the world.

This was my "Beat all the stages" machine but it can't finish the one where you lift the wood anymore since they patched it.

I don't understand how everyone is building g such awesome big machines and getting good performance. I was sold on it and bought it, if u build a machine more than like 35 pieces it becomes a slide show, and at like 45-60 ish pieces it comes to a complete stand still, I actually have to kill the process. I have a 5960x at 4.6Ghz, a 980 SC at 1580Mhz and VRAM clocked at 1875Mhz (7500Mhz effective), and 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3000Mhz....and even tried installing it on my M.2 drive as a last resort (1.2Gbps read).....how?!.....watched the monitors on my other monitors for a bit, it does not even look to be using my GPU or CPU when under that load, low temps, low usage...and my GPU sit on idle clocks while my CPU doesn't even get touched noticeable. I'm confused. I WANT to enjoy this game and make these giant death machines, I dont understand how I'm having issues running it.

Sending in Air Support. I expect someone to make an aircraft, bomb a target and land back on the deck - with a working tailhook. Loving the youtube compilations.

Maybe try disabling your second monitor, in case for some reason it's hitching on that.

You know what that was my first thought, and I turned off both of my extra monitors, it had no effect. it's really bothering me I have now even tried running it at 720p with no bells and whistles and had the same effect. Im guessing I might have to dive deeper than the basic trouble shooting at this point :(. I see very few problems like mine on steam but people are having it.

Thanks for the trying to help :) I was just way ahead of you because I was itching to play it.

I'm not that creative so this is one of those games where's it's better for me to watch what people make instead of play the game. I mean I bought it anyways in hopes that you can download other people's shit and have fun that way... lol.

I am really enjoying this game. I like how the machines can tear themselves apart if not designed right. I put a cannon on a pole and the pole snapped when the cannon fired.

I am madly in love with this siege machine nonsensical mayhem.

"Crossbows and Catapults" you have gloriously arisen from the kitchen floor haze of my halcyon lost Saturdays.

OH MAN did we used to play the Hell out of C&C back in the day! We had buckets of the bricks and men and weapons! I probably still have them somewhere....

This game immediately made me think of C&C too, LOL! I may have to pick this up...

Well, it is early access, so that might be something that will get in eventually. You can technically do it now, if you have save files, but an easy way to share creations would be really nice.

On another note, I made a larger rocket. Took a while setting the cannons to fire in the correct order.

I do hope there is some sort of MP at some point.
Well...about that:
I'm sorry to dash your hopes, but Multiplayer isn't currently a planned feature for Besiege.

There are serious technical limitations when playing around in a physics environment before even considering connectivity.
If we did decide to implement multiplayer it would be a massive time investment and we're not sure that the end result would be fun enough to justify the development time.

I cannot rule it out 100% but it is unlikely that multiplayer will be added to Besiege.

Are there any objectives in the game besides destruction? Seems like the perfect game for Nuts & Bolts style missions that require thinking outside the box.
