About 3 months late, but the fact that you don't have

is a shame. And this is supposed to be RnB GAF? You shame yourselves.

Any recommendations for tracks similar to Janine And The Mixtape's "Cold Outside"? I love the whole feel of the song, so relaxing and chilled.

Soul and Gospel singer Mavis Staples releases her latest ep today titled Your Good Fortune. Earlier I said this was one of my most anticipated projects for the coming year and this didn't disappoint. This four tracked ep has a rich sound that sinks into the pores of your skin. Mavis Staples voice is full of strength and spirituality. The four tracks present all have a slightly different feel to them; one is somber, one is uplifting, one is dense, and another is heartwarming. This ep is a short, but sweet taste of a mix of soul, gospel, and spirituals. Your Good Fortune is a high recommendation.

Album art is linked for listening pleasure.

I hate you.
Never heard of her, did some research and now I'm gonna check out that album tomorrow. Looking like she might join my recent R&B rotation addiction.Never really listened to the genre but for the past 2 weeks I've been listening to Mama's Gun, Baduizm and New Amerykah pt.2 nonstop lol.

Edit: Listened to the album, so far I love Midnight and Ghost. Definitely gonna listen to the album some more. Thanks for posting it!

:D

on rotation now, yep, Album stil kick ass. She can eat my soul without chewing.

She's pretty awesome. She changed a bit from what I remember from her first LP - the girl with some bossa chords and pretty intimate tunes. But I like her now too.

One of the best albums of the year. Fully listened & enjoyed.

man this is great. They have so many ideas from song to song, and within the songs themselves, with dubstep, techno, neo-soul, art pop rock, etc but the lead singer has this fantastic gospel voice that grounds the grooves no matter what direction it goes.

Add me to the list

Oh damn!! Who is "The Internet"? I never heard of them until I saw " Get Away" on YouTube.

I'm totally digging their sound. Sounds so old school.

I've been listening to the new 18+ album a lot. I think it might be one of the most interesting R&B albums I've heard this year for sure. Not sure why I stand on it, but I feel as if it might be a grower. It kind of sounds like a really rough, sadomasochistic version of The XX.

2 seconds into the first track. Fucking sold. There's a seductive darkness going on with their sound.

I always love the synth work on her songs. These bursts that create such an interesting texture, that's either atmospheric, classy and warm. She shows effort on her vocal work too, to give the most intimacy to her songs and to go along with her sound. Love this one. Really shows what Banks is all about.
