Persona 5 New Trailer

No, this just means people will complain about the ps4 version having last gen graphics. They were pressured into making a ps4 version.

I am pretty sure one of SCE's japan teams will be handling this version (that way they (SCE Studio Japan) can get accustomed to its new architecture and spend less time learning the new system).

There a high quality version of this trailer (ie not Youtube) yet?

Edit: It says something when you can show off the menus in your game and people will come out impressed.

I think this will be my first Persona game. I can't continue to ignore the series anymore, especially after this trailer. Got a real craving for JRPGs at the moment for some reason so this will go down a treat.

if you have a PS3 do yourself a favor and download the PS2 Classics- Persona 3 FES and Persona 4.

You should have enough time to work through them before P5 drops. :)

... in SMT IV (And the older Persona games that nobody, even Atlus, remember) you have Melee weapons and Guns, the Guns are mostly used to inflict status ailments or attack weak spots while the Melee weapons are for regular attacks...

Demons in SMT games are party members though. In Persona, they are merely "skill/attribute sets" the character assigns himself into. With guns back, I wonder what the system will be.

Unless this is actually Morgana, they actually had a 5th character.
Their outfit also sports a Tanuki tail.

It's not Ryu.

Only games I've played in the series are Persona 4 Golden and Persona Q (P4 story line).

THIS SHIT LOOKS AMAZING. PLEASE RELEASE THIS YEAR IN THE WEST I BEG OF YOU ATLUS!

Playing on Very Easy to enjoy the story.

Oh god yes I will do the same. I hope they have like a 'press X to win' mode too so i can strictly focus on maximizing the S links first time through :p ..

a game of this size will probably take a long time to do repeat play throughs.

It could still be like Persona but with an extra type of regular attack. I mean having the gun option didn't hurt Persona 1/2's ability to make Personas attributes rather than party members.

Its funny how they learned from their mistakes.

Dungeons arent boring.
You have now more to do in dungeons (Stealth and stuff)
Smaller Cast
Interesting MC

This... this... i can't even believe it.

It's so much more than what i could have ever hoped a new Persona to be.

If S. Links are back, and maybe you have to avoid being discovered (reverse of what went down with P4), that would be godlike.

I still can't believe it, based Atlus indeed.

Oh right, Persona 4 Vanilla is only available on the US store.

Well, I'm only three and a half hours in with P3 FES so that will keep me entertained for a while.

Some demons have Gun attacks XD

I am incredible excited since these seems to bring an overhaul to the Battle System, I was kind of getting bored of Press Turn but I love it since that make the battle so fast paced...

Oh God, maybe they will bring from SMT IV the "Smirk" system? I loved that and seems to fit this one more than SMT IV =P

It's not true anyway that they were pressured:

Based on the stuff I heard long before it was actually announced, this is not true.

And that's basically what the rumblings have been. Atlus needs a good transition into the next-gen consoles anyway, and Persona 5 is coming out at an awkward time for PS3. So this is smart business.

I don't really know why people would complain about it not having 'true' PS4 graphics anyway. It'll at least be 1080p, maybe have a better framerate... and it'll exist on the platform. So that's an all around net gain if you ask me.

Would be nice if Atlus was able to put in a little extra spice for the PS4 version though, just as a treat.

You know what's much more annoying than someone going into a thread and saying "this sucks!" without expanding on why? People who endlessly quote the post and replying with their entire collection of gif meme replies which have all been run into the ground years ago.

Let's not do this shit.

Hey, I'm not hating. I just found that Persona 4 did not present a challenge at any point throughout. I'll be happy if they ramp up the difficulty a bit.

I'm also happy to see actual demons in lieu of shadows. I always found the shadows to be super boring looking. It was all walking gloves and toy robots.

I'm just wondering if the trailer is a good indication of how it'd look on 1080p on PS4. I mean, is that the extent of what we'll get... maybe a smoother framerate @ 1080p?

It's actually refreshing to see something cut through the echo chamber. For me it's too early to judge whether the game itself will be good, but the visual upgrade is just impressive for any fan of the series.

But it'd be much cooler if you gave reasons you thought it looked stupid, because then we can really learn something new. Everyone thinks one way, so you tend to learn something from people who think a different way.

Did you like past Persona games if you played them? If you have played them and didn't like them, was this trailer really especially stupid or just a continuation of elements you already didn't like from the series? If you enjoyed past Persona games and thought this trailer was stupid, can you get specific about the problems you had?

If you never played a Persona game and just thought this game looked stupid, what about it seemed off-putting to you?

I doubt it honestly. I would not be surprise to see more and better than this. :P

Wish I didn't watch the trailer. Now I want it in my life now. Remote play to my Vita while in bed, it's going to be glorious.

Looks like all out attacks are still there so I'm guessing the press turn "one more" system will still be there.

Looks fantastic and the game is oozing with style. This is how you sell your game and create hype, a top notch trailer that makes you throw money at the screen lol

So hyped after that effortlessly cool trailer. Love Persona. Love cats. Love stealth. I bought a PS3 for this game and if the PS4 version is enhanced I'll buy a PS4 for it too.

I agree. I'm on the hype train so hard, but echo chambers can get old. Dissonant (but detailed) opinions are important with this sort of thing.

Day motherfucking ONE. Wow, Atlus is on top of their game as always. Looks beautiful and the music is just. Well, it's just perfect. THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY. PERFECT.

What? No, no no ... DDS was bonkers regarding difficulty, I never finished it, because I sucked (at that time :P). Wheras I totally rocked P3 on normal.

Dude I'm playing DDS1 for the first time right now (late game, around level 62) and I found it to be quite easy compared to other SMT/Persona games. By which I don't mean to call it bad. You should definitely go back and attempt another run.
