I'm just wondering if the trailer is a good indication of how it'd look on 1080p on PS4. I mean, is that the extent of what we'll get... maybe a smoother framerate @ 1080p?

It's actually refreshing to see something cut through the echo chamber. For me it's too early to judge whether the game itself will be good, but the visual upgrade is just impressive for any fan of the series.

But it'd be much cooler if you gave reasons you thought it looked stupid, because then we can really learn something new. Everyone thinks one way, so you tend to learn something from people who think a different way.

Did you like past Persona games if you played them? If you have played them and didn't like them, was this trailer really especially stupid or just a continuation of elements you already didn't like from the series? If you enjoyed past Persona games and thought this trailer was stupid, can you get specific about the problems you had?

If you never played a Persona game and just thought this game looked stupid, what about it seemed off-putting to you?

I love it, the art direction seems to be awesome again and so much stuff to speculate about, just all around hyped for what is to come.

Just remember from an old interview:

Much like the previous installments of the series the game is set in a high school - however, the mood and tone will be different. Hashino explains that Persona 5 is about a kind of freedom that is different from the other games in the series. This freedom is meant to liberate those who "are bored and discontent with their lives".

Simply amazing. I was already hyped but this is far beyond any expectations

I guess the PS3 version will look that good
 
btw people, there's still the XCX direct soon....

This is not even a gaming event and I don't think there will be any event that will surpass the hype.

Just got home, it's beautiful. ;_;

Pretty much what I wanted to see. Looks like Catherine, dungeons aren't bland and Igor is still in!

The wait is gonna be sooo painful.
 
Man this thread is huge, but this trailer is indeed hype as fuck.

I'm thinking the main chick they were showing is an ice skater based on her twirling motions in the animated scenes.

Is not the theme, is how the do it what counts for more "dark" or more fun style.
P3 was shitty dark while P4 was scooby doo gang looking for a murdurer. Even if in P3 there were not lots of murders "on screen" like in P4, the umpending doom and the whiny characters (added with some
main character kills
), the shitty emo antagonists, with very few group events were you could see the gang as a tight group of friends, make the game darker in a bad "13 year old" way.

What I see with P5 is that it gets "dark" right, and its becuase its not even trying to be that way. It gets its theme from burglar playful type tropes, and thats why the characters on it seem so happy, just like the P4 gang trying to unravel a mystery. The more mature aspects seem more similar to those on Catherine than anything in P3.

Man, I'm so ready for this game to get here. Hope the trailer music is an indication of the soundtrack. Really like it. It kind of reminds me of the P3FES soundtrack.

If the game is bigger than Catherine, I wouldn't be surprised. Catherine only had one area that you could walk around in outside of the nightmare puzzles, and only a handful of characters. If Persona 5 is anywhere close to the size of Persona 3/4, it would be expected they couldn't spend as much time on each area or character individually. Look fine for PS3 but should look better on PS4.

Actually only thing I do not like is aliasing. It hurts my eyes a lot.
 
I hope the dungeons are still random, but that's the one thing I couldn't quite tell from the footage.

With the platforming traversal and the unique staircase room, I am wondering if maybe the dungeons are more hand designed now. Did any of the new info translated by Shouta/duckroll tell us about that?
 
I wonder how the sleeking from cover to cover integrates with the dungeon crawling they also seem to be doing. Are they two separate modes and what purpose does it serve?
 
I think this will be my first Persona game. I can't continue to ignore the series anymore, especially after this trailer. Got a real craving for JRPGs at the moment for some reason so this will go down a treat.

Never played a Persona game before, but gd dam this looks good. Need to read more about the series.
Music and style reminds me a bit of Cowboy Bebop...
