Yeah, even if this isn't using the Catherine engine, the art style is pretty similar, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

There was a moment in the trailer where they're all sitting at a table that gave me a serious Stray Sheep vibe.

That's really boring in my opinion if true... One of the fun things about P3 and P4 is replaying again using different characters. Leveling up all of their social links...

I think it's more in line with the gentleman thief archetype, picaresque novels and crime genres than some kind of comic book superhero thing.

Persona games generally don't have direct connections with one another beyond cameos. So you wouldn't be missing much starting with Persona 5.

Well, the masks give them the ability to leave things behind and be "free". I can see that with a high school student. I think it could have worked in a job setting too. Byronic influences, as well, minus the moodiness maybe.

Yar, the previous Persona titles didn't show all party members during the first reveal, so I don't think they'd do that in this case, also.

The enemies are depicted on-screen and you can choose whether or not you wish to engage them in battle.

You saw those knights in the trailer? Those are the encounters. You see the enemy on the field and have to engage with it to start combat. So no random encounters. Personally I find the setting of the series rather refreshing. You don't see many rpgs set in the present day.

That seems like an odd complaint? Did people like the color coded shadows in p3/4 more than the demons in older Persona and SMT games?
