Phantom was jumping around like crazy and there was a scene where all the characters were sitting around alongside with me and someone else I known. We were just talking. Then I look on the floor and I see the box for Persona 5 for the PS4. It was all red with the logo just on it.

Nope. Apart from Persona 1 and both parts of Persona 2, they're all self contained games with only a few references and cameos for each.

That said, you reeeeeeally should play Persona 3 & 4 at some point. They are both amazing games.

Nope. Apart from Persona 1 and both parts of Persona 2, they're all self contained games with only a few references and cameos for each.

That said, you reeeeeeally should play Persona 3 & 4 at some point. They are both amazing games.

The trailer is a ton of fun and shows off a lot of stuff about the game. I'm really excited and I hope this game lives up to what is already probably an inordinate amount of optimism.

The characters look good. There's an obvious Lupin inspiration in the character design, which is literally confirmed by Hashino in his interview. I'm excited to see more of them and what other characters pop up. CAT is a natural progression after dog and then bearmonkey!

The UI is nice but too chaotic. It's objectively worse than P3 and P4 UI - it's less refined and there is too much happening, but it makes it harder to appreciate the things it does well. The font is awful, but at least it's consistent with the chaos. If they want to correct the UI, they need to calm it down.

I'm pleased to see there is apparently more to the dungeons in this game, which is the most legitimate complaint I will grant against Persona 4.

I do love the overall style and heart I can feel from the game. My enthusiasm for the style is undercut slightly by how much I think it would be better with a less spastic UI.

This game is going all-out with style. I don't mind the UI as a whole because of it.

Besides, the UI becomes muscle memory in RPGs. I can probably navigate all those menus in less than a second to get to where I want. They're still snappy.
