Paragon of Decency: So I found some pictures of my boss.....

I suppose making a thread about it is better than actually doing it. I mean, if Bernie Madoff could have made a thread called "GAF, these investors are so dumb, should I Ponzi them?", it might have actually stopped him.

Assuming this is not a joke (a big IF), then of course OP, don't do it. You couldn't if you wanted to now because this thread is a paper trail leading back to you and the mods have your email info.

So happy ending I guess?

You see a guy nude and your first idea is to blackmail him???

Seriously. OP you need to have a very long look in the mirror about the person you think you are and want to be. That you even considered this as one of your first possible actions is not good in the slightest.

Fix the computer, hand over the backups, and put it out of your mind and call it a day. I'd also try to request this thread be deleted as well.

An IT firm?

facepalm.gif

He probably does this with all of the recruits, OP. It was a test, and you're failing. He knows you looked at the images. He knows you copied them.

Start job hunting.

So many holier-than-thou's. I don't want to or plan to blackmail this dude, but it's just a fucking weird situation now. So very very weird.
That's fine and all but why the fuck is blackmail even a thought. And then you go on to say his wife is hot.

You are sounding like a real chump dude.

...
So... what do I do now? I make decent money so I don't feel like I should try and blackmail him into a raise or anything, but at the same time these definitely seem like they could possibly be useful some day.

This movie you're in is not the comedy you think it is.

Most companies have a very strict "no porn on company assets" policy.

Working in IT, you have a right and sometimes a duty to find and report these things. OPs ok so far.

But fucking blackmail = GTFO OP and don't come back.

Not at all. And again the pics were labeled nude. What young guy is going to see a picture named nude and not click on it? And who the fuck labels stuff like that anyway? If it had been img6484.jpg I couldn't have cared less what it was.

Starting to think we've been had. This can't actually be someone's defense.

It's not clear if this is even a company computer. The OP makes it sound like it was the CEO's old personal laptop.

If you could stop looking through my pics...
lumbergh_office_space_lg.jpg

That'd be great.

Yeaaaaah

edit:

OP may also just want to toss that laptop into a conveniently displaced fire. Or a competitor, if he's that kind of person. But, like all good blackmail: for the love of god don't do it yourself.
Watch Burn After Reading if you don't know why.

edit 2:

Or maybe this was your boss's way of inviting you for that inevitable threesome they have been planning for a while now. Of course, if you happen to resist, there is a contingency for that too.

Good luck, OP. If we never hear from you again, we'll all know what happened, and we won't ask questions.

So I work for a company doing basic IT and Help Desk types of stuff. And yesterday our CEO asked me if I would mind taking an old laptop that he wanted to give to one of his sons and clean it up a bit. Fresh Windows install, that kind of shit. I told him of course not.

So today he brings it in and gives it to me. I ask him if he wants me to backup any of his old files so he can copy them to his new laptop and of course he said yes. Now this is something I've done for people countless times, and I always respect their privacy and don't go snooping around in their folders. But I normally check someone's documents folders to make sure there's something in there before I copy it.

I get to his pictures folder and everything is fine but then something catches my eye. A file named "nudeee.jpg". Naturally curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't help but click it. And there's our CEO standing base-ass naked in front of a mirror Anthony Weiner style. Then I look back at the folder and see that are tons more of these ranging from "nudee.jpg" to "nudee32.jpg". Then I see ton's of pictures of women's feet and even a folder full of photos of his wife in lingerie.

I feel like there's a slight chance he might know that I've seen them because about 10 minutes after he dropped it off he came running back into my office asking how it was going. He looked at the monitor and could see in the dialog box that I was copying his picture folder. He mentioned something like "ahhh, yeah... pictures folder... lots of old stuff from my photography days." I just said cool and went back to reading CNN while I was waiting.

So... what do I do now? I make decent money so I don't feel like I should try and blackmail him into a raise or anything, but at the same time these definitely seem like they could possibly be useful some day.

This is called theft.

Now when he accidentally types "nudee32" into his browser instead of file explorer this thread will come up.

This is called theft.

Not even that. This is as pure of a human decency thing as one can imagine. Did your boss do anything wrong to you? Does he abuse people? Pictures of him and his wife have nothing to do with YOU. I can't believe the OP was actually contemplating blackmailing him. What the fuck.

Hmm, I think I could form a pretty good idea where you're working based on your post history, that old thread where you got the job and the imgur gallery you linked with it. And now you've posted evidence of conspiracy to commit blackmail.

So... what do I do now?

I'm not making it up and I didn't go snooping either. I checked the folder to see if it was empty. I selected them all and drug them to the backup folder and when I did there they were. I had hoped they would just be some pics of some hot girls since he's told me many times about how hard he would party when he was younger. I was sadly mistaken.

You are Patient Zero, OP, the rolling snowball that transforms into the avalanche

Activate it.

I thought this would be good for shits and giggles but goddamn if some of you don't take everything super seriously.

Yep, I can't believe you're the one being persecuted in this situation. What's wrong with people nowadays? Poor poor you. It's a sad day indeed when you can't ask people to help you conspire to blackmail your boss and commit a felony without being persecuted for it.

Send this to his boss for shits and giggles.

In this day and age of Snapchat I don't think Nudes are a great source of Blackmail anymore, and wtf you thinking in the first place for even considering that.

The good thing about this thread is the OP just outed himself to the entire world.

What you said is now permanent, for anyone to read on the internet.

Are the nudes from when he was younger?

If it was just for shits and giggles you framed your statement completely wrong. Also, as far as it being "weird" to see someone naked on the pictures on their computer and thinking it would be funny at a party, grow up.

Doesn't sound like a "company laptop" to me.

In fairness, this wouldn't be conspiracy since, as far as we've been made aware, there was no second person involved.

I have no words (besides these).

Ask him to take pictures of you next time.

I work for that kind of company and I can safely tell that if I ever reported a manager level (let alone a CEO) employee for this I would be fired instead.

The best that I can do is to kindly ask to back up that shit on another device or delete them myself in most cases.

I think it's weird if it's an authority figure. I mean no one gives a shit if you see the slutty secretary naked but when it's a CEO... it's a bit weird.
