Paragon of Decency: So I found some pictures of my boss.....

I thought this would be good for shits and giggles but goddamn if some of you don't take everything super seriously.

Dude, think. The CEO of the company you work at, an IT company, with more than one employee, would just give Joe 'Second Week' McGee a laptop that has nude images of him on it to clean up? And that he'd just happen to pop back in during the process? You think he knows he has files on it that he wants to keep, but forgot the fact that he has nude images of himself on the laptop. You think that just slipped his mind?

You've been set up. You failed the initiation. Look for a new job, because I'm sure your CEO is looking at NeoGAF and preparing your pink slip.

Here is some shocking news (!) for you OP that might shake you to your core....

Some couples take...gasp! Revealing pictures for each other!

If it was just for shits and giggles you framed your statement completely wrong. Also, as far as it being "weird" to see someone naked on the pictures on their computer and thinking it would be funny at a party, grow up.

This I disagree with. I've always found that sort of stuff weird. I'm not talking about body pictures to keep track of weight, surgeries, bikini's etc. I mean overly sexual images. There's nothing wrong with taking sexual pictures, but I wouldn't do it for the exact reason that most people can't be trusted. Douchebag ex's, hackers, are a dime a dozen.

I'm not making it up and I didn't go snooping either. I checked the folder to see if it was empty. I selected them all and drug them to the backup folder and when I did there they were. I had hoped they would just be some pics of some hot girls since he's told me many times about how hard he would party when he was younger. I was sadly mistaken.

xD

That's personal stuff. If there isn't anything criminal on it then it's just his personal sexual space.
Stupid to leave it on his computer, but still personal.

Be a good man.

You do nothing. That's really it. It's his stuff. Everyone has been nude. Everyone has fucked (well almost everyone) . Everyone has fetishes. You saw something personal , and that's kinda it. Embrace the nudeness of your boss.

I also stumbled upon some stuff about my "boss" (google history). I probably know something most people have no idea. But its none of my goddamn business. It's his life. It's his choice.

I think it's weird if it's an authority figure. I mean no one gives a shit if you see the slutty secretary naked but when it's a CEO... it's a bit weird.

They're still human beings too. I'd just recommend that you DON'T bring it up, ever. And just act as if nothing happened when you copied the files. And I'm not claiming to know you as a person, but your mind jumping to blackmail for something like that, is something you should be working on. Not cool.

You reckon? Be funny if it was somebody unexpected. Like Bish for example.

Hmm, I think I could form a pretty good idea where you're working based on your post history, that old thread where you got the job and the imgur gallery you linked with it. And now you've posted evidence of conspiracy to commit blackmail.

So... what do I do now?

This is good.

I can understand curiosity taking over and looking at the pictures, but to actually ponder blackmailing him is the sign of a proper cunt. I hope you get fired.

If he becomes your enemy, use them against him. Until then just keep them safely stashed away as a potential weapon, it's an asset to you.

There is no morality or human decency in business. Especially in today's economic climate where companies as a whole have far more leverage than the available workforce. It's kill or be killed.

Edit: Don't mess with him. Forget you ever saw them and restore them back to the workstation and move on.

I work for that kind of company and I can safely tell that if I ever reported a manager level (let alone a CEO) employee for this I would be fired instead.

The best that I can do is to kindly ask to back up that shit on another device or delete them myself in most cases.

I wasn't suggesting he turn the CEO into HR, I was saying that because an IT guy opens a file called NUUUUUUDEZ.webm that we're not automatically amoral scum.

I'm not making it up and I didn't go snooping either.

Naturally curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't help but click it. And there's our CEO standing base-ass naked in front of a mirror Anthony Weiner style. Then I look back at the folder and see that are tons more of these ranging from "nudee.jpg" to "nudee32.jpg". Then I see ton's of pictures of women's feet and even a folder full of photos of his wife in lingerie.

I see now, you didn't go snooping you just meticulously checked every picture just in case there was a hot chick among the nudees, feet, and the pics of his wife.

This is hilarious. Instead of just copying the folder or running a robocopy from command line, you decided to snoop and open up the pictures and continued to open more.

You then thought about possibly black mailing your boss, making your own personal copy, and then laughing about it at a Christmas party.

After all of that, you're pissed at everyone else for telling you how jacked up your thought process is?

I really don't think someone is going to put nude pictures of themselves and their wife on a laptop as a trap. Besides, it's not an IT company, it's a health care staffing company and he's their IT guy.

Also, OP, I have a shocker for you:
Every single person that you see is naked underneath their clothes.
And they're likely naked several times per day.

Also, when they go into the bathroom, they reveal their pee-pee or ladyparts.

Not at all. And again the pics were labeled nude. What young guy is going to see a picture named nude and not click on it? And who the fuck labels stuff like that anyway? If it had been img6484.jpg I couldn't have cared less what it was.

I used to give my nude pics ironic names, but now I don't keep nude photos anymore because I don't want to be blackmailed.

Glen just copy what I write below into a post then abandon the thread:

"You are right GAF, thank you for helping me understanding my error. It was wrong to look at personal pictures of my boss. It was even more wrong to consider using it as blackmail. I will try to make better decisions in the future and be a more ethical person."

what? leave him alone. who cares. you're mulling whether to fuck the guy over or not? cmon dude.
fast forward to page 6 and now this not only applies to the OP, but people in this thread as well.

FYI to people oversharing: You can read shit on this forum without logging in or posting.

So... what do I do now? I make decent money so I don't feel like I should try and blackmail him into a raise or anything, but at the same time these definitely seem like they could possibly be useful some day.

transfer the pictures, say nothing about it to anyone.. once the rumors haven't started hell remember your discretion going forward.. in a good way.

It's [removed]. I don't care to dig further because I find it Internet detective play seedy unless done for a genuine cause. This is just an idiot who should probably be fired for betraying his boss's trust.

What OP needs to think about is the fact that his employer trusted him with access to personal information. This was about fixing up an old laptop for his son to use. That suggests a level of confidence that was betrayed not only the moment he started browsing a private pictures folder but especially when he decided to go online and brag about it, asking strangers if he should hang on to the files.

"Let me get this straight. You discovered that your CEO, the wealthiest, most powerful man in your company, has nude pictures on his laptop. And your plan, is to blackmail this person?

Good luck."

You know detective Gaf and many lurkers that hate the people in this board are gonna eventually find your boss and show him this right?

Edit: Its happening, good luck.
