Dat round table shot!![]()
Yea ... awesome stuff! These two looked great as well:
Are we allowed spoiler tagged links in here? Or links with spoiler warnings? Only ask because one or two spoilers as a little taster of what's to come, is not as bad as going in to a thread full of them![]()

If you spoiler warning the spoiler I guess that's okay. The problem is people are getting the game early and we need to avoid ruining the experience for others.
The visual fidelity is absolutely amazing, but the fact that their Victorian London, a vibrant metropolis and the biggest trading hub in the world, is a veritable ghost town whenever we saw it leapt out at me.

Ru has got to be of some sort of Asian descent - despite being brought up in Switzerland. Unless I am being thoroughly ignorant about the complexion of another nationality. Though I don't feel his surname is particularly Indo-Pakistani. Anyway, while I am happy that there is an Asian cast memeber, I am kinda bummed it couldn't be as one of the Knights. Why is there yet again an all white cast of heroes? Especially as someone mentioned earlier, with the influence of the Raj, it could easily be historically justified.
Maybe I should wait to see if the rebel plays a larger role.

I don't know about his upbringing, but his name certainly sounds Srilankan. His full name is Ruu Weerasuriya. Weerasuriya in tamil means Brave and Suriya means Sun. He's a brave sun who will shine upon the ps4 by introducing the Knights of the order

Good talk by Ru. Was interesting getting his perspective, and I kind of get why they put a greater focus in to the narrative, characters and tech within the game. Similar to what other developers and creative directors such as Druckmann have said, there is some need to bring greater legitimacy to mature story telling within gaming, not in the sense of having mature themes or R rated content, but more genuine and relatable characters, with believable and poignant narratives (even if fictional and fantastical) that do put more thought in to the acting and delivery, and the reality is that tech plays a key role in that. That's not to say traditional games with far less emphasis on such things aren't just as important though, but hopefully the industry keeps pushing the envelope in both regards.
Being that this is an alternate history where the humans are at war with half breeds and the rebels, one could use his/her imagination and come up with a logical conclusion that London has very strict curfews that encompass certain travel restrictions to selected people for all districts that are enforced by the order and law enforcement all of this being based on the current threat level for each district.

Dude, when we see it its in the middle of gunfights or teeming with Werewolves.
Do you honestly expect it to be a bustling cityscape in such moments?
People aren't afraid that the story won't be good, people are afraid that a good story alone won't cut it.
Has to have good gameplay, too.
Not that The Order doen't have good gameplay, I'm positive here, but RAD didn't do much to convince people with gameplay in what they've shown so far.
I don't think the future of gaming lies in games like Beyond:Two Souls where gameplay is subordinate, but in games like The Last Of Us where story and gameplay are both brillant and complement each other.
I think The Orders potentially great story, setting, graphics, atmosphere, acting etc. could go to waste if the gameplay is boring.
Were residential areas that bustling back then? I would have thought the crowds would have been mainly downtown. There's a couple of spots where we see residential areas during the day and there's like four people standing around, that's what I'm talking about, not the streets at night.
Guys, will Sony allow pre-download of this game? If so, how many days earlier will I be able to download it?

Either way, I'm sure there are technical limitations for having lots of NPCs walking around with a beaut like this.
Understandable.I dunno, it just stuck out at me, that there are these beautifully rendered areas that only have four people standing in them. I think probably playing ACU which obviously has a very different emphasis on where they're spending the console's horsepower, has probably made the impression stronger than it would have been otherwise.
Really like the lighting and shadows here

I hope this isn't final because it's obvious the Galahad model is slamming into and out of place in each transition.
Look at the way the rifle stock on his back jerks suddenly as he looks round the corner, or how his ENTIRE head of hair 'bounce's' as if he's just landed after a jump, it's pretty distracting.

I think that's just Gallahad jolting back after seeing Lady Igraines brother there.

He is from Sri Lanka.
His hair wouldn't jump like that and it still jumps before the doors open when we cut to his back.
It's a small detail, most won't notice but it will be more noticeable of replays.
Look at his hair and far shoulder just before the door opens and you'll notice his hair and rifle jerk suddenly.
Then right after it cuts back to him look at the front of his hair, it slams down for a second then resets.
It's not even subtle, it's like he's wearing a hairpiece and his whole hair shifts.
I'm not seeing it. Only thing I see is when it cuts to the shot of him viewing the figures (forgot who they were...think one is someone's brother in The Order), there looks to be a rough pop-in or something around the hair rather than any actual physics work gone wrong.
That's Izzy's brother.
Gotta see what issue you guys are talking about. On my phone now...
What you are seeing is the simulation for those actually physicalized objects starting back up again. It happens in tons of games sadly.
Ah right, that makes sense.
That's Izzy's brother.

This sometimes happens to games doing a lot of things in-engine.
One of the episodes of the Game Grumps' Sonic Boom series has a sidebar with their video editor that details just how unbelievably wrong physics toggling can go from scene to scene when rendered the same way. Holy smokes.

Sonic Boom keeps delivering, The Order's issue isn't nearly anywhere near as bad but it's still noticeable for me.

I think it also effects the fabric on his arm, causing it to shake between transitions.
