Driveclub is fun it was shit on by reviewers pretty badly actually. I tend to completely ignore reviews when games like titanfall get amazingly over the top reviews and games like DC get very middling scores. Just shows there is some bias. Not saying its against sony but there is definitely some sort of disconnect between review scores and what actually is fun.

I have come to the realization that reviewers are so inconsistent and unprofessional that I regard their opinion as worthless when I complete a purchase. I try to find a general consensus on some message boards and look into gameplay videos.

When you have a whole group of folks who literally walk into video games like this for example - Everything Dying Light Gets Wrong I just don't know how people even can call video games a hobby when you get to this point, when your actively going out your way to make a topic or video about what said games does wrong.

I see nothing incorrect in what I said.

Just leave it I've derailed it enough. :(

On topic: is there a technical limitation to putting a photo mode into games? For example if the order were to use the max amount of Ram available for games, would you need to free some up in order to suspend it and be able to pan around the scene? Have no idea how photo mode works but interested to know. Seems always like more work, rather than just being able to stuff one in and have it ready for release.

You've nailed why there are literally no reviewers in gaming these days that I agree with.
That can be valid for you but my intention wasn't to say all reviewers are like that.

I'm just saying that most of these generalist reviewers just go surface deep "and play on Normal, because that's what the general audience does" even though they must know they serve a dedicated gaming audience.

And then they all follow each other on twitter and when they are on podcasts with each other they don't want to disagree because they are all acquaintances but not good enough friends that an argument will destroy their relationship.

It's more work because I don't think any of the SCE games that got photo mode have been using the same engine. So there is engineering effort to translate the photo mode concept (or if there even is code) to hook into your engine.
If they all used UE4 it wouldn't have been a big issue unless they modified certain aspects of Unreal a lot.

Oh right. Hopefully once they've each got a game under their belt they can get photo mode in earlier.
