The Order: 1886 has gone gold

Those 'under 5 hours' times are rushed as HELL, skipping fights, etc. That or perhaps review copies that could have levels unlocked. Happens sometimes w/ review copies where you can go through later parts of the game without having to play all. Or maybe those timestamps are recorded whenever those trophies are achieved?

Do you know if anyone in the press have received their review copies?

lol the emotions in this Thread

I'm not worried. If you skip cutscenes etc I'm pretty sure some of the Uncharted games can be finished in 5 hours or less.

I know I have a 6.5 hour Drake's Fortune run that could be trimmed a lot.

Im concerned the game is a corridor shooter.
Im concerned the game is nothing but visuals.
Im concerned the black borders will affect the immersion.
Im concerned the game is too short.
Im concerned there is no multiplayer.
Im concerned its nothing more than qte, qte, qte.
Im concerned they havent spoiled the game yet.
Im concerned the AI from that 3 second gif is terrible.
Im concerned............I'll just watch it on youtube teehee.

.........

Same shit, different The Order 1886 thread.

Lots of people are ever so #concerned about a game they probably have no intention of buying.

Okay so I did a little investigating and the guy who finished the game is a Playstation employee. So it's unlikely that he was doing a speed run. He says that the first trophy did not unlock at the beginning of the game, though, and that he played for longer than five hours total (won't say how much longer).

So it sounds like maybe a six to eight hour first playthrough?

There's also a lot of people completely sold on it despite mixed impressions. It'll still be in stores on the 21st.

I don't think impressions are exactly "mixed". Seems to me that all recent stuff from PSX and later is mostly positive, with a few more tempered ones thrown in.

He probably didn't take his time though, unless he got the trophies for the collectibles etc.

Apart from the launch trailer and review copies is there anything left for the marketing team to do? I don't know how they could top the lore website and the "Order exposed" site unless they do something crazy like get a billboard in Times Square or something. The hype is right on curve so far.

I can't wait for this game to come out. The 20th is too far away. Although I think the Prequel game is already on its way. I mean obviously
the hunters in Bloodborne are simply the start of the order.

Some people seem willing to desperately hang on to any indication that this game will be bad

There's been a lot of valid skepticism, and a lot of valid questions. Equally you are willing to hang onto the idea this'll be a superb game, when it has equal potential to be bad or good at the moment.

You're welcome to disagree, but I am glad I get to be cynical.

There is a huge difference between being just cynical and being a cynical asshole that wants to shit up threads.

A few days ago, Pessino said he was going to start his leg of the press tour soon.

I'm guessing RAD is still travelling around the globe to show the press the game. We know Weesuriya has went to Japan and Taiwan for it at least. Weesuriya also teased going to London in a few weeks.

My guess is that there'll be another round of previews first, then only review copies will be sent. Seems like a tight schedule.

Oh lawwwd, there's already a spoiler thread, and it's like a great big red button that I want to press but must refrain from doing so. I don't know why so many are happy to have everything spoiled/ruined for themselves, unless it's full of people who have no intention of ever playing the game, in which case I understand. You won't see me clicking on it though. Nope, not me.

Dang, really? It's gonna be pretty hard to avoid spoilers the next two weeks, not because I will intentionally seek em out, but I have a feeling someone will slip.

I was thinking of making a topic like this. I see Bloodborne and The Order spoiler threads with so many views and posts and wonder in awe. Why would you want it ruined? Why would you want the experience spoiled? Especially in regards to The Order that seems to have a huge focus on story, I don't get these people.

Then again, I am a bit anti-spoiler crazy. I get away 2 weeks from gaf or gaming websites so E3 is an actual surprise for me. I put my index fingers in my ears whenever my co-workers starts talking about Game of Thrones (he's a book reader). I don't even see full trailers of many movies made by Nolan, Scorsese and Tarantino so I go in blind. It seems like that is more rare than common, which is weird in my opinion but to each his own...

Speculation time

Mar 29th 1886 - Chemist John Pemberton begins to advertise for Coca-Coke
In the game you drink dark liquid and "stuff" happens.
Game happens in 1886
Game is a coke commercial.

I can see that happening. :D

The waiting for the game is so close, and yet painfully far. Hence my accurate prediction.

I will be happy if this has been already discussed.

Considering this game is coming out in just 10 days from now, I'm shocked we haven't seen any leaked copies in the wild yet. Usually mom and pop shops and overseas get their copies early.
