And I'm done.

Yoooooooooo, this is fantastic.

Ah right, I forgot that Kaneko wasn't involved in the Persona titles. You'd think they would want their "star" artist on their biggest series. It looks like the last thing he did was on SMT:IV...is he basically just stuck on that series forever? Or does he choose what he wants to work on?

Yeah, Nocturne probably holds up better than most any PS2 title. It's just gorgeous. P5 seems to be at least partially in Tokyo, so yeah, it'd be cool to have that tie-in. You could be right about Shinjuku Hospital and it'd be awesome if that had a Nocturne link. Though I still don't understand why they're looking at an x-ray of a fish.

Actually, I think he didn't.
He is credited as writer, but I don't think he designed anything for SMT IV (even if of course, some of his older demon designs were taken over).
The last thing he worked on as designer would be... Raidou 2? Or Strange Journey maybe, but anyway, quite some time ago.
Such a shame.

I just thought Nibel's pic was funny, for what it's worth. Some folks need to lighten up. XV crowd is a little defensive this weekend.

It seems to me more like Persona fans are insecure and they need to make useless comparisons like "my game trailer has more internet views/pages than yours!1!!"

I really hope the series will see some important growth in the US and EU (and they need to localize it in French/German/Italian etc.), unfortunately the internet hype doesn't mean that much (see Bayonetta 2 and Dragon's Dogma). Anime style can be popular as shown by DBZ, Naruto and One Piece, so there's potential for the game to gain a bigger audience.

Any approximate release date?

I would wager late august/early october for Japan based on the P5 bonus they're packaging in with P4DAN. P3 and P4 got lengthy trailers explaining everything that will be in the game with dvds like that 1-2 months before they came out if memory serves.

it's really just a funny picture

Surely you mean in NA.

Eh? Atlus is taxed right now with P4D. Since that's coming out late June, and the Blu-ray for P5 will be ready then, a late-September/early-October is a realistic estimate.

Then, if Atlus USA has to localize P4D and P5, then a Q1 2016 release in the West makes sense. I don't think this comes put to North American shores in 9 months.

I don't know why you're replying to me when I'm not the one who put forth the idea of a November release, but I'll reply then:

Persona 5 will be released in North America in 2015, not 2016.

Oh okay. It's indeed a shame. I hope he hasn't relegated himself to just sitting in production meetings every day.

Last I heard he's working on some new IP called Deviliser or something?

No, we don't know what Deviliser is. All we know is that it was trademarked in 2013... and that's it. Kaneko might be involved with Team Maniax's new project, though:
I think 2014 will be a year of preparation for the Maniax team and I. We’re working here and there on the next title. You won’t be hearing from us for a while, you might think we left office or died. (Laughs)
