LMAO daaaaamn

dude is salty and racist as fuck

He's a raging idiot and a jackass. That's not the same as being a little overly egotistical.

Do we both live in America? America is the land of the "everyone is awesome," and "you can't judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree." If anything, America is, overall, way too proud and not humble enough.

Maybe you're right, maybe his music wouldn't be the way it is if his personality was different. If that's the case, then oh well. I don't actually know how much of "being an insufferable idiot" is relevant to his musical ability, so... /shrug.

Chick Fil A may have tasty chicken sandwiches, but because of other non-taste issues I stopped eating there. I do listen to Kanye still, but it's not that hard to see why his personality may turn others off to his music.

Uh, because that's life and that's how humans work mentally and morally?

We publicly claim to not accept information from the Nazi/Japanese from their human experimentation because... we considered it inhumane and it seemed "wrong" to do so.

Kanye is a really great artist and is very talented, but he's an idiot. That turns off some people. It's like dating a really hot guy-- you like him because he's pretty but then he opens his mouth and you're like.. damn, nevermind. For some people it may not matter, but for others it does. Or, like the other example i just gave, it's like acknowledging Chick Fil A has great chicken sandwiches, but no longer eating there because you dislike something about their nonfood issue.
There's nothing morally wrong with Kanye doing him in this way lol wut you're not dating Kanye you don't even know him on a personally level. You're just a consumer of his content so you can either like his "personality" or not same with his art. He's definitely not scum of the earth because he can be unapologetically abrasive at times nor does that disqualifies his sound from being listenable.

This thread is hilarious.

It has people getting on Kanye about samples. Beck was huge in the 90s and one thing that made him stand out in the alternative genre at the time was his use of samples and looped drums and shit.

Then it has people saying Kanye can only sing through auto-tune therefore Beck is more talented. Beck distorts his voice on damn near every big track he's done! And I'd hardly call what Beck does singing. He talks over songs rhythmically.

People need to listen to more music and actually learn how it's produced before they start ranting. I doubt anyone in this debacle really cares about the grammy and are probably more than happy to have a part in showing that it's just theater and a mockery.

This post is where it's at.

So much this...goddamn.

Kanye West - The Glory

What am I supposed to do now?
Man the game all messed up
How I suppose to stand out when everyone get dressed up
So yeah at the Grammies I went ultra Travolta
Yeah that tuxedo might have been a little gweedo
But with my ego, I can stand there with a speedo
And still be looked at like a f*cking hero

LoL at E! interview. Kanye is crazy.

"Who designed these mics that you see? I took the E! off my mic. Okay, we know, it's gonna be E! already! It's gonna be E! at the bottom of the screen right here," he said, pointing into the camera. "We need to step up the taste level across the board on all networks. So you can see these outfits! Never before in your lives have we witnessed such beauty. Now we have to keep complimenting that, from the people who produce these shows, from the Grammys to E! — respect artistry, respect visuals, beauty is important! I mean, the Kardashians wouldn't be famous if beauty wasn't important! It's very, very important! The eyes, the eyes!"

If you don't like Kanye, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Within your lifetime, we will reach the point when everyone will finally see him as the joke that he is. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

Let people buy into his marketing for now. The effect won't last forever, and we certainly won't be hearing horrible auto-tuned singing on the classics station when we're old. It'll be as irrelevant as 80's music is today. We'll look back and wonder what anyone ever saw in him the same way we can't figure out what anyone saw in the keytar.

Not only did she sell millions of albums more, but Beyoncé's album reviewed better as well. Compared to Beck's

Sold better, more critical acclaim, more impact...

There's an argument to be made that Beyoncé had the more critically acclaimed album and therefor deserved to win, although again I think comparing the two albums is kind of stupid given that they are so vastly different, but I just don't see why sales should have anything to do with this.

Yup. It's marketing that has made him a household name and not actually hard work and great production.

Lawry's

The record sales will never be there. Music is not as centralized as before due to the Internet. Also, people don't buy music anymore.

I understand that, but his music doesn't exist in a vacuum. The sales environment changed for a lot of artists, not just Kanye West. He still can sell digital albums?

The grammys have always been a popularity contest. Popularity = sales, shouldn't it?

Read the article. In fact, read the first sentence. You are either young or just don't follow music. And that's okay.
You're gonna have to read that to them. Beyhivé is not good at reading comprehension...or reading.

or he we will be listened to into the future and become a classic.

o.O

uh.... okay

Whoosh, I guess. But in the end, yes, I will continue to like and listen to his music until he stops putting out good music :)

then i'll just loop 808

Your analogy of him being the cute guy but is an asshole makes no sense here. You don't know him on a personally level so that isn't something you actually have to deal with. You also tried to inject morals into the issue when nothing he's doing is breaks any sort of universally understood morality. He just a dude who speaks his mind whenever and doesn't care about the repercussions of it. That's something I personally respect about him and I also really find that entertaining. I get that other may not like it but oh well. At the end of the day he puts his money where his mouth is and makes fucking hits nonstop. My whole point is why should him being a public asshole disqualify his sound from being listenable? It shouldn't and anyone who actually cares that much of full of themselves imo But go 'head, do you.

lol, so much salt

Post like this and the OP are fucking hilarious.

You go our of yoru way to shit on someone you claim to NOT LIKE and DONT CARE about, but you try so hard, and spend so much time talking shit about him. Too funny.

Listen, if you don't like him, then fine, that is your opinion. Nobody is forcing you to listen to him, buy his record, go to his concerts or anything of that sort.

Like fucking Republicans who keep talking shit about gay people, yet they get [ e x p o s e d ] constantly in gay bathhouses. I bet the OP has a buttplug shaped like Yeezus. Just shut up and live your life ho.

Among ultra-popular rappers, Kanye is probably one of the most race conscious. Every one of his albums discusses his unique struggles as a Black American.

I just thought it was funny, him needing an introduction.

Beck hasn't been (commercially) relevant for longer than a decade now. "Nobody knows Beck isn't' hyperbole.
