Given the SonyGate leaks, Marvel wants to put Spidey in high school to contrast the older heroes, so they're gonna cast younger than Glover or Garfield. Besides, it's not like Marvel has a lot of compelling young heroes (there's Kamala Khan, but they need to release Captain Marvel & Inhumans first).

Anyway, for those who don't get the joke, Kid Nova isn't exactly setting the world on fire. Hell, his comics are in the cancellation zone in terms of sales. Plus the Nova set-up in Guardians is for Richie (as Rhomann Dey's presence indicates).

Miles is ok but I like Peter better. And I'm half-black myself so let's not try and push that angle I know you're going for. I just don't like when established characters get changed for the sake of it. I'd be equally as annoyed if they tried to, for example, make Cyborg white in Batman v. Superman.
From what I've heard the movie would be high school he has his spider powers and he's been doing the spider man thing for a year or two this wouldn't be an origin take it would just pick up with the audience knowing who Peter Parker is and run with it. Which would be smart of marvel.
More of the trend to replace established characters. The "new" Thor, Spiderman, Captain America... it's definitely a trend in the comics and it's kinda dumb. Of the three the Cap one makes the most sense, with having Steve Rodgers depowered it makes sense for his buddy to take over for a while until he ultimately reclaims the title. the Thor / Beta Ray Bill was a better way to do this though.
Having said that, if you wanted to cast Donald Glover as Peter Parker, I'm down with that.

Uh, how so? I mean you are right about thr kids having different stories, but what part of Peter Parker's story wouldn't fit? If you look at the demographics of Queens in 2015, maybe, but even Peter Parker as we know him wouldn't fit in today.

. Like someone earlier in the thread said, I grew up in awe of the originals as a kid, so whiny ass nerdy spiderman is the icon for me. Gyllenhaal also works. Garfield just came off as a gigantic douche as both Spiderman and Peter Parker (the former I can understand, but the latter I didn't like).

That's a fair point in reality actually, of course the life experience of a black teenager would be different. I was thinking more in terms of the broader shades of his origin story. Though I'm sure you could draw parallels between stop and frisk and the police getting on Spider-Man's case if you were creative. It would certainly Make his relationship to police more thematically interesting, though I doubt they would do that in the MCU. In the fictional reality this wouldn't be much of an excuse.
